Work Text:

Love was a funny, fickle, thing. Some people were made from it, made for it. While others were made from acts of lust and went their whole lives searching for some semblance of love.

Parker was part of the latter. She was a product of a one night stand. Her father dipping before the pregnancy test was even completed. Her mother stayed, but not really.

So she was alone. Searching for the thing she lacked at home. And there were a few times where she thought she'd found it. But each time was a lesson teaching her she was unlovable. That she wasn't worthy of something so valuable.

Then came Jacob.

Jacob was born of love. His house was filled with it. His dad loved him. His mom adored him. His sister's picked on him, but they wouldn't let a fly touch him. This affection was all he knew.

Then his mother died and heartbreak came.

His sister left, it hurt, but not in the same way.

Then Bella fell back into his life. A pale ray of moonlight shining down onto his dull life. Jacob had never felt anything like it before. His heart beat only for Bella.

But then she fell in love.

With Edward.

Edward fucking Cullen.

That life draining leech.

Heartbreak had struck again, in a different way.

Jacob felt as though Edward had taken his very life from him. He walked around like a dead man whose heart no longer beat.

That's where Parker found him. Walking in the woods, aimlessly, longingly. Her first instinct was to ignore him. A strange man in the woods was a siren blaring in her head. But a tug in her heart couldn't leave the man alone. Not like this.

So she called out to him. Her voice carrying in the wind.

Jacob turned to her. He saw her standing there, feet away, but she might as well had been right there. His breath caught in his throat.

The world broke down from this massive thing filled with millions of people to a singular person. The birds no longer chirped their songs, the only music in his ear was the echo of her voice.

The wind stopped blowing, the only chill was the one running down his spine from her eye contact.

God, her eyes.

The imprint was nothing like Sam said it would be, but it was at the same time. Jacob fell to his knees, his eyes falling shut as darkness over took him.

The last thing he saw was her rushing towards him with her arms reaching out for him.
