Mike was walking late at night around his neighbourhood because he couldn’t sleep, eating an apple when all of a sudden he heard rustling and yapping .. shit.
He turned around to see a coyote and.. it looked wrong, like it was diseased or had some sort of birth defect. It was unnaturally tall and lanky and it’s mouth looked grotesque.. But the worst thing was it looked hungry. not just hungry, STARVING it’s ribs were showing in the worst way possible.
“What the fuck…” Mike said as he slowly started backing away but the thing just copied his movements, slowly moving forward. Snarling intimidatingly, spit dripping down its face as it eyed the juicy apple..
Suddenly it lunged, jumping up to bite his arm, making him yelp in pain as he dropped the apple in hand. The thing quickly picked up the apple in its mouth before scurrying away, leaving Mike panting and shaking in fear. Was he going to get rabies or something??, Did he need to go to a hospital??
He just stood there for a while before making his way back home, he needs to tell someone about this before he gets some sort of disease.. Once he made his way home he burst through the door, running towards his parents room.
He opened their door and walked up to bed to shake his mother awake. Karen woke up after only a couple of nudges. “What Mike..? What’s wrong- OH MY GOD!!” She looked at his arm in shock, it was a bloody mess and already swollen. “WHAT HAPPENED?!” “I- I went on a walk and a coyote bit me..”
“WHAT?!?”-
So here he is now, in the hospital. It’s crowded, the lights are too bright and the smell of antiseptic and cleaners are assaulting his nose. And he had to wait FOR HOURS!. At least it wasn’t that bad, he just had to take a couple of blood tests and vaccines and he was fine. His arm still throbbed though which news flash it sucked. And he also had to get stitches, which also sucked. But it was better than getting rabies, so hey there’s that at least..
Several hours have passed by now, “What was that thing?” Mike thought to himself. “Did it have anything to do with the upside down?” “Maybe it was just a fucked up coyote with mange..?” Mike just sighed as he waited for the doctor to come back into the room.
The doctor eventually arrived with good news, he’d probably be fine but he’d still have to take some antibiotics to avoid infection. Yay, they were finally able to leave.
Mikes mom was relieved, Mikes dad was very annoyed with the hefty hospital bill, Nancy and holly were tired, And Mike? Was confused oh so confused..
