Title: Things You Need to Know About the AirCon Hero Shoto

Everyone probably already knows that today is the birthday of the hero who was announced to Rank Number 1 not too long ago. To celebrate the occasion, as well as to help everyone learn more about the current Number 1 hero, I’ve compiled some information people should know about him. Some of these are rumors, some are misconceptions, malicious comments, and so on. I’ll stop at #11, since that’s Shoto’s birthday date.
Warning: this is a long post, but all information here is accurate and has been approved by the person involved before posting.
#1. Shoto has a slender build.
To quote a colleague who went to the same high school with us, stripping the words down to their raw honesty, I’d like to say: “What is going on in your head?”. Shoto has never been skinny or slender. He’s always been among the tallest in the class, and especially now, when Shoto is even slightly taller than the hero Ingenium. I swear to All Might, he is not skinny or delicate at all. Shoto is a hero. He studied at a prestigious academy specifically for training heroes. Those basic facts alone should be enough for you guys to understand, right? Below are photos of us. Try to look at the second picture please. The red shoe trim behind Shoto is me.

#2. Shoto has low EQ.

4 out of 5 interviewed children described Shoto very positively. I believe children don’t lie about how they feel. They answered quickly, without hesitation or changing their responses. This isn’t something an unkind person could achieve. And if you want to talk like adults, then please refer to the file below.

The calculations regarding public satisfaction and support levels have been highlighted. Numbers don’t lie. From a certain perspective, heroes can also be considered a kind of “service,” apart from protecting the places we live in. That said, please understand that while we aim for a positive image, we don’t aim for a flashy one, we are human too, we have bad days and make mistakes in our daily lives. Shoto always does his best to answer his fans and citizens in general. It’s not “low EQ” when he can answer questions smoothly and people love him.
#3. Shoto is bad at expressing emotions.

All members of Class A have their own meme albums. TMI: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight has the most, with over a thousand images.
Neither party allows the sharing of specific images, so please understand.
#4. Shoto doesn’t (know how to) use social media.

#5. Shoto knows English.
Yes, but that’s not all. Shoto speaks English and Spanish very fluently. Cellophane invited him to study Spanish together back when they were at UA. The two of them have continued practising and improving together up until now. Currently, he’s also learning a bit of German, though the progress isn’t very fast since Shoto only studies when he’s truly free.
(I’ve heard Shoto’s mother once studied German, so he wants to learn it because of her.)
#6. Shoto is addicted to cold soba.
That was true back in high school, but now Shoto enjoys eating in general and often tries cuisines from all over the world. Hawks is the one who invites him out to eat the most. Shoto is also not picky generally speaking but he can’t choose a dish on his own when visiting a new restaurant. He’s not judging the place or the food, he’s just thinking about what he wants to eat. If you happen to see it, please don’t be scared.
#7. Hero rankings come with many privileges, especially Rank Number 1.
If you mean getting into the emergency room without waiting or being placed in an isolated hospital room due to multiple injuries, then I guess that’s true? This seems to be a misconception many people have not just about Shoto, but about the hero industry as a whole. Any so-called “privileges” heroes have are publicly disclosed in official documents posted on government and Hero Public Safety Commission websites and we hide nothing else. If you see signs of abuse of power, don’t hesitate to contact the Hero Public Safety Commission immediately. Your identity will be anonymised to protect you.
That said, I hope there won’t be individuals who report a hero performing their duties purely out of personal attacks. Please include evidence if possible. I don’t want anyone to misunderstand my intent as “you can only report if you have proof.” No. The Hero Public Safety Commission has two major responsibilities: protecting heroes and ensuring they are individuals worthy of being role models in society. They don’t stand entirely on the side of civilians or heroes, but they will certainly do their utmost to ensure victims are not disadvantaged by cooperating with multiple relevant departments.
Back to the main point, some people might say that Shoto became a hero because he was forced to. This is the city, the country where he was born, where his family, friends, and the people he loves live. Shoto has far too many reasons to become a hero. Fame and forced responsibility are certainly not among them. I, along with many other professional heroes, can guarantee that Shoto loves this job, loves the fact that he can help protect people, and nothing more.
#8. Shoto is calm.
No.
Shoto gets angry very easily. He’s just extremely good at controlling his expressions. On top of that, he’s stubborn at very strange times, in ways that are also very hard to understand. Shoto won’t eat a whole tomato or drink tomato juice, but he likes spaghetti. He drinks banana milk but doesn’t eat bananas; eats strawberries but won’t eat strawberry-flavored things. Red Riot can prove this, since he was once persuaded by Shoto, went to talk to Pinky, found it utterly unreasonable, and then somehow got persuaded by Shoto again.
We once went to an amusement park together. Shoto rode the bumper cars and got hit by Dynamight way too many times, then snapped. From that point until the end of the trip, Shoto chased Dynamight so relentlessly that Dynamight had to apologize for taking the joke too far. Shoto did not calm down. Dynamight had to stand and freestyle dance in front of Class A on the day the second photo in #1 was taken.
To everyone who had to witness that scene, we’re sorry.
#9. Shoto is an ideal student.
No. Shoto studies only when he truly wants to, and when he does, he studies very carefully. To describe it: Shoto is the kind of student who will straightforwardly admit when he didn’t study, and when he does well on an exam, he’ll accept it while bluntly say it was because the test was easy. A lot of people probably get hurt hearing things like that, haha. Shoto doesn’t take extensive or careful notes, but instead selectively records information that suits him, so when he reviews it, he understands the material much faster. No one in Class A has ever borrowed Shoto’s notebook to copy notes, because we don’t understand what he writes. The teachers see his grades and decide that they don’t need to force him to change his study methods.
He also often suddenly asks questions that hit right at the core, but are slightly beyond the taught material, so they require longer explanations than usual.
In short: the kind of student who makes you feel reassured in an unsettling way.
#10. Shoto has no personal hobbies.
Why do people think that? I’m genuinely curious.
Shoto reads a lot of manga, and he really enjoys novels as well. He and his mother have a small library at home with many kinds of books, and because he knows foreign languages, there are books he reads directly in the original language. He has a small notebook where he writes down his impressions after reading books and manga.
Shoto also likes watching movies, cinema movies to be exact, because, as he puts it, he’s already used up all his patience waiting for weekly manga updates. He doesn’t have a favorite genre either. He chooses movies randomly and then discusses them with friends or family after watching.
He won’t tell you what he’s reading or watching, so journalists, please refrain from asking.
#11. Shoto has had many past relationships.
Nope. He has exactly one. And are now together.

That’s all 11 items. Thank you for patiently reading this far. I didn’t originally plan to write this post, but there have been too many unpleasant rumors lately. Shoto doesn’t mind, but I do, and anyone has the right to be angry about unreasonable rumors concerning their partner, right? Coming out was already something Shoto and I had discussed anyway.
I hope that no matter what job you have, you can freely pursue your own love. Even if you feel like you don’t need it, that’s fine too. Life has many things to enjoy, as long as you live without regrets.
