Chapter Text
Okay, he didn’t mean to do all of this. He really didn’t. It’s not his fault by any means. It just so happened to happen the way it did. It wasn’t because he did anything. Not at all. He’s a perfect angel. His mother tells him so. So, it must be true, right?
At least, that is what he was desperately trying to tell himself as he sat in class as Mr. Aizawa gave the details to the Sports Festival that would be broadcasted across all of Japan. The Sports Festival that got more views than any channel or event, EVER. The Sports Festival that he, himself, watched every year under the covers of his bed with headphones on and a porn video at the ready on the off chance his mother walked in because he’d rather his mother think he was jerking off in the darkness than actually watching anything even slightly related to hero work. His mother would absolutely go off if she knew and she would absolutely kill him, expertly, if she knew he was currently sitting in a classroom at U.A.
All right, she wouldn’t actually kill him, but she would certainly torture him. And she would do it so well that he avoided even thinking about it lest he lose his nerve all together in front of his classmates. How did he think this was going to end? How was he going to hide this absolute dumpster fire of a situation? How-
“Stop hitting my fucking chair,” Katsuki hissed under his breath, keeping his eyes directly on Mr. Aizawa. Izuku froze. He hadn’t even realized he was shaking his leg so bad it was making Katsuki tremble in his seat. If his mother didn’t get him first, Katsuki definitely would. He wasn’t as terrified at that thought, though. For all of his attitude, Katsuki was a softie. He wasn’t worried one bit about the angry Pomeranian. So, to only prove he’s the little shit that he is, kicked his chair once more for good measure.
“I SAID-“ Katsuki began, starting to turn in his seat when a cloth raced through the classroom and tied up Katsuki mid-attempted-attack.
“Please refrain from attempted murder inside my classroom,” Aizawa drawled. “Another incident against Midoriya and I will see you in detention.” Katsuki stared at Izuku out the corner of his eyes with the anger of an exploding volcano and a promise Izuku knew all too well. Izuku did his best to hide his smile and look pathetic.
“Yeah, Bakugo, not cool,” Sero said while others disappointedly shook their heads. Katsuki didn’t break eye contact as Aizawa let him go.
“Yeah, not cool, Kacchan,” Izuku whispered and the lava boiled over. Just as Katsuki was about to move, Izuku subtly placed his heels against Katsuki’s seat and pushed him into his desk as Izuku bit his lips to keep from laughing. Katsuki lowered his left hand out of view of the class and flicked him off; shaking vigorously for dramatic effect. The incident lessened some of Izuku’s nerves, but he was still vibrating with anxiety.
He knew he had a pretty good disguise underground, but parents know their children. And he knew for a fact that his father and brother (and probably his mother, but he really hoped not) would be watching this event with rapt attention. They’d know, right? They would so know and Izuku chewed on his fingernails relentlessly at the thought. What was he going to do? He obviously knew this would happen at some point. It was inevitable. But he never considered exactly when it would happen. And wasn’t that just the stupidest thing Izuku has ever done?
No, it definitely wasn’t the stupidest. In fact, he couldn’t even come up with the stupidest thing he had done because there were many. And the only reason he had managed it this far is because his mother was so deep undercover, they would hardly interact. But she watched. He knew she watched and knew everything. He didn’t know how she managed to know. It wasn’t just her motherly intuition and third eye. He was certain she had more tricks than that under her sleeve. Maybe it was cameras in the house, maybe she tapped his phone, maybe she somehow got the gossip from his own auntie. Whatever the case, it was excessively hard to keep any secrets from a pro hero who excelled at disguise and intel recovery. He was royally fucked.
But it didn’t stop him from running head first into that brick wall time and time again.
But this time the brick wall was a carefully crafted, long-awaited and heavily watched Sports Festival. He probably should’ve worn a disguise to his school, but he couldn’t do anything about it now that he was too well known as the classroom’s broccoli head. A loving nickname Katsuki had thrown out one day and everyone rolled with. He’d get him back one of these days. Once he was done with full blown panicking that is. And he was nowhere near close to being done and hasn’t been since the day he met All Might.
The bell rung and Izuku jumped like he’d been tazed. His heart still hammering, he put away his belongings and prepared to put his backpack away for lunch. As he walked down the hallway, alone as he likes to avoid crowd, his shoulder was bouncing off a locker unceremoniously and his books falling to the floor before he had even heard him come up.
“Dammit!” he hissed as he rubbed his shoulder. He yelped as a hand slammed next to his head and he looked up into crimson eyes staring right into his soul inches away.
“Hey Ka-Kacchan,” Izuku stuttered, awkwardly rubbing his head. Katsuki narrowed his eyes.
“You pull that shit again…” he whispered, grabbing Izuku’s tie and pulling it up, bringing Izuku with it. Their noses brushed at the proximity. “I’m telling Mom.”
“No!” Izuku cried out in horror before shoving Katsuki away. “I am NOT doing your laundry again!”
Katsuki laughed as he knelt down with Izuku to pick up his notebooks.
“Then stop fucking messing with me in class. Everybody already thinks I’m a goddamn villain,” he said, throwing the papers at Izuku’s head. “When you’re the goddamn nightmare!”
Izuku laughed nervously at that, but shot him a mischievous grin. If only he knew.
“Well, it doesn’t help when you act like one!” Izuku shot back.
“Poor Izuku Midoriya,” Katsuki mocked. “Such a sweet innocent kid. Look at his cute freckles. OMG, don’t hurt him Bakugo. Tsk! If only they knew the fucking shit you are.”
“Don’t hate because everyone loves me,” Izuku said as he slyly kicked Katsuki’s heel, making him tumble backwards onto the floor.
“You motherfucker!” Katsuki screeched as Izuku took off. “Get back here!”
