Amy made the wrong choice, looking up at the white ceiling of the Egg base she now lived in she knew, she chose the wrong Sonic. It seemed so simple at the time. Metal loved her, he showed it and he made sure that she had everything she could want. He didn't ignore her like the real sonic did, it was easy to get lost in it. Caught up in the honeymoon phase she didn't see what Eggman was doing to the world around her till Sonic asked her to help him free the animals. Amy hadn't noticed they were gone, she hadn't noticed and it scared her. She agreed... and doubt in her relationship with Metal was placed in her mind. Everytime Metal took her out all she could focus on was the world around her. How much did Eggman destroy while she wasn't paying attention. Sonic reopened her eyes, she never knew why she closed them in the first place.
Amy's hands held onto her blanket tightly. It was an anniversary gift from Metal, their fifth anniversary. She didn't know why she stuck around this long, she thought of Sonic everyday. She feels bad, Metal doesn't even know she's emotionally cheating on him, and she's too much of a coward to end things now and prevent a much harder falling out. And in her defense it's not like he hasn't changed a bit. Sure he does things that would make a bare minimum boyfriend have a heart attack, but when Amy brought up the troubling things she saw and has Metal confront Eggman about it nothing happened. Nothing but rewards for his compliance. Amy didn't know this at first. When he told her she could move in she was thrilled, even more so that he could properly emote and express himself. But when he was able to be in his Neo form again that's when the alarms in her head started. And when she really thought of Sonic again.
Now, she has a nice life yes. But what's so good about it without Sonic, she hasn't seen him since she told him she was moving in with Metal. Heck, she's not even a Rose anymore. She might as well call herself Any Robotnik. The pink hedgehog checks the clock, 3:56. Has she been wallowing that long? She turns in bed and closes her eyes, trying desperately to fall asleep and not think of the ways she could have done more. Not become a pice of Eggman's empire. All hope of that fades as she feels her boyfriend's arms around her, comforting her. She's truly hopeless.

Metal proposed to her. She doesn't know how to feel. She said yes, she cried and hugged him but... She can't say she feels much now that she's looking at the ring again. It's all she ever wanted, silver with her birthstone, a sapphire. She could nearly remember dinner, she knows Eggman was excited, conversation was lively, she got to explain her dream wedding. The wedding she planned to have with Sonic. Amy sighs and looks into the mirror. She's the same but different, she's the same shade of pink, same green eyes, but something feels different now. Like a part of her was taken when she said yes.
It's not like she was pressured, Metal proposed in a small privet setting specifically so Amy wouldn't feel pressured. She feels so ungrateful, Metal is going so much for her yet she wants Sonic to be doing it instead. She saw how he looked at her when they were saving the animals. Something clicked in his mind, then he gave her back to Metal. He respected her choice, a choice Amy can't bring herself to respect now. Now that she's stuck, officially a Robotnik. She looks around her at the pictures on her vanity, the painted walls, everything Metal did for her to make her feel more comfortable. To make her feel at home. But what's home without Tails' laughter, Knuckles' stories, Cream 's baking, Shadow's soft rare smiles, Rouge's antics, Sonic... Sonic's everything.
Amy feels the tears fill her eyes, she should've said no. Said she wasn't ready. Gave herself more time to get out. A sob leaves her mouth. More and more come as the tears fall. She wants to go home, be with her friends. She wants to go fishing with Big again, destroy robots with Omega again, spend time with the Chaotics again! She wants to be free to go on adventures! She wants this to be with Sonic! Not his robot copy! Not Metal Sonic! Not-
"Amy?"

Amy doesn't know how Metal convinced Eggman to let her friends come to her engagement party, but she's thankful. She was so excited to see Cream and Cheese again. And Big too! Even team dark showed up for her. Probably to keep an eye on Metal but he's been behaving... well Amy doesn't know how he's behaving she hasn't been with him since Cream arrived. She did know that the Chaotics were taking full advantage of the free food, though they are now stuck in a Polish history lesson by none other than Eggman's cousin. Amy guesses she's Maria's sister but she doesn't care enough to find out.
As Amy is getting a couple of brownies Rouge walks towards her, "Hey Mrs. Robotnik. How's everything been? We haven't heard from you in a while."
Amy smiles, it seems like all she's doing has been smiling, "It's been fine, great even!" Amy knows she's just saying that to convince herself but hopefully it convinces Rouge too. The bat nods and then looks around.
"Has Neo been treating you okay?" She asks, this causes Amy to actually look at what her fiancee is doing. Which is teasing his sister, using his ill gotten height to hold up Sage's plate with one hand and using the other to keep her from flying up and getting it. She almost forgot he's always in his Neo form now unless Amy says something.
"Yeah, of course he has. He's been nothing but considerate of me since the relationship started. Why are you asking?" Amy asks, a bit of guilt starts eating at her heart as she points out how loving Metal is to her.
"He doesn't exactly have good male role models." Rouge says looking to Eggman, who is now arguing with his cousin. Much to the discomfort of the Chaotics, who are still eating and packing away some food for later. "But if he makes you happy I'm not going to complain, just know you can call me if anything happens." Rouge says before leaving.
Amy nods. He looks down at her plate and takes a brownie, from the corner of her eye she sees Orbot looking at her. Suspiciously, how long has he been doing that. She takes her plate and goes over to her fiancee, where she probably should've been the whole time. The way Metal teases Sage reminds Amy too much of Sonic and Tails. Especially when Sage gets her plate back and they exchange teasing faces. He's too much like Sonic, yet not enough.

The wedding planning was going great, surprising easy considering Metal got Eggman to give an endless flow of money for it. The robotics field was surprisingly lucrative, and mixed with gambling that's an endless amount of money. Amy still tried to be considerate though. Picking more natural and cheep spots. Well, Robotnik cheep anyway Metal still wanted to spoiler her. After all, she has been waiting for this day her whole life.
"A forest location?" Eggman asks with distain, his money is paying for it after all.
"To be like a fairytale." Amy says, "you know like a princess. I made these plans when I was 6 and I'm sticking to them."
"I think it's a great idea, Father." Metal says, sensing Amy getting defensive and mediating. Looking at the pictures Amy provided and with his new upgrades she could see the wonder he got from imagining being there and the love in his eyes looking at her.
"If you say so." Eggman says defeated. Amy smirks and kisses Metal on the cheek. He promptly nuzzles into her. Keeping his multiple spikes away from her as best he could. He had to bend down to do it, being at least over 5 foot in his Neo form. The familiarity of this, being with Metal, it feels like the start of their relationship again. When they has to write in a notebook to communicate. When she started learning sign language to talk to Metal in a more convenient way.
The ease of the patterns almost stoped Amy from learning about the hunts. The hunts for Sonic. He'd been causing too much trouble. Freeing too many animals. Amy knew what happened to the animals that weren't freed. They were put in robots and forced to work or go after Sonic. She got into many fights with metal to have Eggman stop it but it was nonuse. Metal didn't want to loose the freedom that came with compliance, he didn't want to be a puppet again. A puppet that could be reset when it had too much of a personality, reset when it was too problematic. She understood that, but the inaction drove her crazy. She was betrayed when she found out about the huntings. Metal couldn't look at her. She doesn't even know what he got for compliance with this.
It hurt, knowing she couldn't stop it. But then she got an idea. She could still help Sonic, she could help him from inside the system. She could join in, to know what's he is, for closure, to stop thinking about him all the time. When she asked to join it shocked everyone.
"Are you sure?" Sage asked one last time as she was entering Amy into the system. Orbot by her side staring daggers into the pink hedgehog, "This was an uncalculated possibility, I- I just want to make sure you're okay."
Amy felt a lump in her throat, sage was just a little girl who cared for her sister in law, "I'm sure Sage." Amy said after a moment of hesitation. "You don't have to worry about a thing."
The first mission was rough. They didn't find him. It hurt Amy's soul to out the poor animals into captivity. Each flicky locked away was a chip at her heart. She wanted to share her love with the world. Not this. But she can't share her love without Sonic. She can't do anything without Sonic.

GUN found out about the hunts. Right as Amy almost saw Sonic too. Almost got her closure. GUN sent team Dark. Shadow was less then happy to see her.
"Why are you doing this?" He asked, "I thought you cared for Sonic!" His tone was accusatory. Amy had no choice but to open up.
"You don't understand! I need to see him again! I need the closure!" Amy said emotion breaking her worlds as she swung her hammer only for it to be dodged via Chaos control.
"You had you closure when he let you be with Metal Sonic." Shadow said dodging Amy's attacks going in anger and strength, "You chose your Sonic now you have to live with it!"
Amy screamed as she sung her hammer a final time. Shadow dodging and kicking her in the back of the head. She felt the metal of his shoe collider with her skull. Blood fill her mouth as she bit her tounge, "Does he know?" Shadow asked, looking at Amy like she was a stain on the wall, "Does he know he's being used to fill a Sonic shaped hole in your heart?"
Amy didn't respond. Shadow's gaze hardened, "Your pathetic." Then he left. He left Amy on the grass to think over what she's doing. She didn't notice a thing about her surroundings untill Metal was holding her up bridal style a flying away with her. For medical attention. She missed running.

Amy hadn't stoped thinking about what Shadow had said. She couldn't look Metal in the eye anymore. She was using him yes, but she was ready to leave him. Yes the fall out would be catastrophic, but it will ease her heart.
"There you are, I was just about to get you." Metal says in a cheerful voice. "Father wants to get you a specially tailored dress, come on!" As the robot took her hand Amy knew now, she had to do it now.
"Actually Met- Neo," Amy started, "that won't be necessary."
"Why not?" Metal asked with a tilt of his head. Just like Sonic did. He was so confused it made it hard for Amy to find the words.
"I- I don't want a dress." Amy says after a beat of silence.
"That's okay, I'll tell Father." Metal says reworking his grip on Amy's hand so he's not dragging her but holding her. "You can stay home if you want." He so thoughtful, "I'll tell Father you need more time to recover." Like Sonic.
Amy looked into Metals eyes for the first time in days. He was so sincere and she could see the excitement that flickered at the eye contact, "that would be nice. Thank you."
"Don't mention it, love" Metal said kissing her forehead, or the equivalent to kissing without a mouth. Amy smiled but she felt her heart sink as Metal helped her back in bed and went to I from Eggman of these new additions to the plan. She fails. She's still using him as a reply Sonic. But that's what he was built for. Originally, when Eggman was Dr. Robotnik. With none of the fatherly features he has today. That's what Metal Sonic was made to do, replace Sonic, so Amy didn't fail. She's winning.

It's the day of the wedding. She knew Sonic was here. She wore the tailored suit that cost more than her person, she looked at the red and orange flower attached to her chest. Metal wanted them to be sentimental. He might be wearing one too. Orbot and Cubot guid Amy to the alter where she's put in place. This feels like a prison.
"Now remember, you stay here and then when the Catholic gives you permission to talk you talk." Cubot tells Amy. She nods. Cubot immediately leaves to go check on other things leaving Amy alone with Orbot.
"I know what you're doing." Orbot says after a moment ot awkward silence making everything stop.
"What?"
"You're using him, cheating, I know it."
"Orbot that ridiculous. If I was cheating why would I still be marrying him?"
"Because you want to replace Sonic! Like Shadow said, I'm not going to stand here and let you take advantage of my big brother. He loves you and it's painfully obvious to me that you don't love him back, and if you try to do anything today to break him I will rip you apart!"
Amy felt the world spin around her. How does Orbot know that. Was he there? There are so many questions running through Amy's head she hardly notices the guest coming in. Robotniks. She finally starts paying attention when Orbot leaves. Everything is about to start. Eggman by the door ready for Metal Sonic to walk through the doors. Sage lined up to drop the flowers, and she's sure Metal is behind the door ready to see his bride at the alter waiting for him. The music starts and Sage makes her way down the aisle, flowers gracefully falling from her hands to the floor. Outlining her big brothers path. The pink hedgehog could see Eggman wiping away a few tears already. Then when Sage sat down and the pianist started to play the wedding march Neo Metal Sonic wallked through the doors. The dress had a hole cut in the abdomen for his jet engine, but it didn't make it less beautiful. A fluffy skirt and a long train. The elements of his personality shining through, sharp spikes mixing with the softness of the theme creating a dominating silhouette.
Amy was awestruck, his father walked him down the aisle, giving the greatest creation of the Eggman empire a proper send off to his own life. He was holding a whole bouquet of the red and orange flowers. Some attached to his vail. He was beautiful. Even more so as Amy uncovered his face. He looked so happy. As the ceremony formally started they couldn't stop looking at each other, Amy almost didn't care that none of her friends were here. Then the priest got to the vows. He was going through the script. Like they practiced, Metal then Amy.
"Neo Metal Sonic Robotnik, do you take Amy Rose as your lawfully wedded wife, through sickness and health, for as long as you live?" Amy could feel Orbot's glare as Metal said yes.
The priest turned, "Amy Rose-" the world went slow amd Amy realized what was about to happen, what she was about to do, "-do you take-" the world was closing in. Every Robotnik was here. Metals great grandmother flew in from Poland to see this! "-Neo Metal Sonic Robotnik as your-" Cubot was getting the rings ready, Eggman was crying again, Sage was looking at her expectingly, and Orbot was getting ready to jump her if she said no, "-lawfully-" It was so much pressure. "-wedded-" She didn't know. "-husband-" she didn't have to answer. Animals burst through the door and behind them was Sonic.
"Sonic!" Amy and Eggman said at the same time with very different tones of voice.
The blue blur stood steady, his expression angry and determined. Amy never saw him angry before. "You said you wouldn't capture anymore animals." Sonic says, his voice holding barely contained rage. "And what did I find?"
"Those were from before we struck the deal!" Eggman countered standing from his seat.
"You date them Eggman, I know that's not true!" Sonic says, his anger palpable.
Amy can see from the corner of her eye Metal squeezing his bouquet in anger. The animosity flowing out of him in waves at having his special day ruined by Sonic. Not being able to have a good thing to himself, for himself without Sonic stoping him. Amy doesn't care. Seeing Sonic again. It's like a dream come true. She's happier right now then she's been in years.
"Alright fine, but I'm not letting you get away with ruining my little boy's big day! Eggpawns, attack!" Eggman screeches as eggpawns and other badniks swoop in from their hidden spots to attack Sonic. Sonic smashes through them all easily, freeing the animals inside. Amy grabs her hammer. Metal yells out for her then stops when she hits the first badniks. She and Sonic immediately get into a flow state, destroying Eggman's hard work.
"Nice to have you back." Sonic says after spin dashing into a motobug freeing a flicky.
"Nice to be back." Amy say smashing the head of an eggpawn with her hammer.
When the destruction is over and Sonic chases Eggman Amy is left with the mess she made.
"Why?" Metal Sonic asks through tears. He wouldn't have if not for compliance.
"You never did anything." Amy states.
Cubot goes to comfort his brother as his twin jumps at the pink hedgehog. Getting thwarted by her hammer. She runs out of the venue to with Sonic before Sage could do anything. She runs back to the only Sonic that could fill her heart.
