Chapter Text
In the beginning, gem kind was not a thing known to the universe. Then one day, in a burst of light, the Sun and Moon goddesses reached their hands through time and space and conjured from the life of a planet beings made of pure light. The first burst from the ground powerfully, a shining white gem forming surrounded by light. It swirled into a large glowing form then perfectly landed onto the planet below, stretching her arms wide and looking out at the stars knowing exactly what she was made to do. The next two came at the same time, one blue and the other yellow. Their light formed around them and they fell gracefully onto their feet, half the size of the previous Diamond.
They each turned expectantly, waiting for another to greet. The third burst forth wildly, the light dancing in front of their eyes as a much smaller pink gem took her form and came tumbling below. They sighed at her lack of grace, watching her come to her feet.
Blue, Yellow, and Pink each looked to each other knowingly, and turned to leave to set out on their mission for perfection, but very quickly did White reach out a hand to stop them.
Quite meekly, one final gem rose to the air, dark as the night sky they stood beneath. It gave a small burst of light before the very tiniest Diamond crashed down to the floor beneath them. Pink couldn’t help but give a burst of laughter, approaching the tiny gem to help her to her feet.
The shadowy gem barely came up to the pink gem's knee, and looked like a spec compared to White Diamond. She gladly took Pink’s hand none the less, nodding to the other four as she too understood their purpose.
White picked up Void and inspected her form, nodding once before smiling smoothly to the others.
“Come. There is much work we must do.”
