Housewife
Austie should be happy. This should make her happy.
She finally got the man(even if he wasn't hers), she now rules hell. This should in fact, satisfy her. However it left that hunger.
The hunger to be something more. More than being Lucifer's wife. More than Sonneillon 's daughter.
It should have made her satisfied.
She looked around the place she, Lucifer,Mim and Cassiel i used to run and play at while their fathers were talking. The childish laughs that annoyed some of Lucifer's caregivers.
She would do anything to go back there.
Her eyes landed upon the portrait of her and Lucifer. Lucifer, in his stylish suit that hugged him in all the right places, sat imposing. His face was stone hard, vastly different from the usual cockiness that defined Lucifer in Austie's eyes.
It made Satan, his father ecstatic, that he got married to her. A pure demon.
She was surprised that in the portrait, she wasn't gleaming as she thought. She had that unsureness that she was displaying now, that small feeling that she wasn't satisfied.
Her father told her to smile and keep up with the appearance.
The appearance of a very assured woman that just got married to the ruler of hell.
She saw that she was getting bored, that this life being on Lucifer's side was starting to irritate her. She suddenly remembered the time she and Lucifer had dinner with his parents.
She sat across Lilith, Lucifer's mother. Her red locks made Austie wonder why Lucifer wasn't a red haired boy. She never bothered to ask him. Genetics were a confusing concept to her.
She avoided looking at Lilith, only spoke when the father and son remembered their existence as they were arguing. It was a daily recurrence to Austie. Satan was still an asshole to his son.
“Aren't you bored?”
She was startled by Lilith's question, that was the first thing in this evening Lilith talked. Austie decided to look into her eyes.
Lilith's eyes were unique, black pools that swirled around. That made Austie forget that she was in the room with Lucifer and Satan.
“Well…”
“Do not think of lying ,child, I know you.”
Since she called her out of the lie that was near the tip of her tongue, Austie decided to spill.
“Yes.”
“I thought you were happy.”
“I lied.”
The two women sat in silence, letting the harsh words from Lucifer and Satan fill in.
She walked outside the palace and decided that the only thing that would entertain her were mortals. She might not love them but Austie cannot deny that they were great sources of entertainment.
She walked in her room going through her closet to see anything that she might wear, her eyes landed upon a dress . A red dress.
That dress's original purpose was to wear it when she had dinner with Lucifer. It didn't matter.
She then took an Orange stone and placed it in her pocket, she was thankful that the dress had pockets. The stone should at least help to hide her aura from heaven. She didn't want to give them more reasons to put restrictions on demons. They were stricter than they should be.
She also took mortal money, called dollars, wads of it. She stole some while she was at the Academy and was sent on an assignment. She wasn't willing to steal money again.
The portal opened and she flew in. On her way to the mortal world.
She was then slapped by the over the top buildings. Causing Austie to take a very deep breath. It has been a very long time since she stepped in the mortal realm. She hid her wings and walked to the nearest shop.
Clara's boutique.
She saw non moving puppets wearing clothes as she walked in, slightly startled by the bell that rang as she entered.
A woman, who looked as if they were asleep, woke up and her eyes landed upon Austie. The woman blushed .
That's something.
“Who are you?”
“Oh, my name is Vicky.”
Vicky, may be a nickname.
Austie walked in and noticed that Vicky shared resemblance to Rebecca Walker. A Seraph. An unclaimed that defined all the stereotypes that the immortals around her set.
“And how can I help you?”
Beauty Queen
For the first time in months (or in Vicky's mortal mind three years) Austie finally found her purpose other than being Lucifer's wife (or as Vicky says “his purse”).
That was being a model. A beauty queen.
One day Vicky's boss found her as she and Vicky were talking and he asked her to be the model of the boutique.
"What is that?”
Vicky looked at her as if she was speaking a foreign language. She couldn't help but to find Austie asking questions like this cute and off putting.
Like why she, the most beautiful woman to walk in the boutique, clueless about the modern world. When Austie told her about her marriage, Vicky couldn't help but to feel mad.
To her it felt like an arranged marriage. Who even does that in these times? It reminded her of the shitty books she used to read as a teenager .
So Vicky patiently explained what a model is and showed Austie examples of famous models.
She couldn't help but to take note of Austie's expressions. She was very animated. One moment she will be mad to the point that Vicky swears she saw her jade coloured eyes turn into Ruby red. The other moment she shows her disgust that will make a person be ashamed of themselves.
Vicky couldn't help but to fall in love with her.
So every time they departed, she would go home, greet her dad and walk straight to her room to either sketch or paint Austie.
The high cheekbones, the cherry red lips and Jade eyes haunted her. Vicky always painted and drew Austie wearing high end clothes that were at the boutique.
She always captured the allure, the mystery around Austie.
She made sure that the sketches and paintings stayed in her room. She did not want anyone to find out about her strange addiction to a married woman.
Right. She forgot.
Austie was married.
Vicky thought of bringing divorce to Austie but she was afraid of pushing her away.
**************”
“Austie look.”
Austie entered the boutique for a new day of modelling and being on “social media” when Vicky called to her.
“What is it?”
Vicky pointed at the newspaper, on the page there was a black and white picture of Austie.
“We're in the newspaper.”
Austie raised her eyebrow, “It means more customers?”
Vicky couldn't help but to laugh at the expression on Austie's face, it was adorable. Her sharp eyebrow raised up.
“Yes, more customers. I was just thinking if it would be right for you to be in a pageant.”
Austie was confused.
“What is that?”
**********
It was the day of the Irma Pageant Competition (IPC) and Austie was uncharacteristically nervous. She was never nervous in years.
Her heart started to beat fast, it isn't until she felt someone holding her hands.
“Hey.”
Austie's eyes laid on Vicky , who was rubbing her hands together.
“Hey, it's okay. It's fine.”
Austie calmed down, tears nearly falling as she looked at Vicky.
“It has been a long time since I felt like this.”
“It's fine.”
Later that evening the women celebrated Austie's win at the competition.
And for the first time Austie felt like she was more than being Lucifer's wife and Sonneillon 's daughter.
She was her own demon, and she liked it.
Homewrecker
Austie doesn't like Vicky's boyfriend.
His name was Andy and she met him at the boutique as he was courting Vicky.
The sickly lovey-dovey thing was getting on her skin. Way more than it needed to be.
She hated the fact that he always smirked at her as he hugged Vicky.
It disgusted her way more than it needs to be.
She hated the fact that she was a bit possessive with Vicky.
One day Vicky and her were at Vicky's apartment, watching television and the pictures that were moving. Apparently they were watching a television show about Angels and demons. Austie couldn't help but to chuckle at whatever that was happening there.
Ah, representation. At least they perfectly captured the insufferable-ness of Angels.
The woman sat in silence, it was comforting for them.
Unfortunately for Austie that moment of peacefulness ended when a phone rang in the silence.
Vicky picked it up to see it being Andy, she sighed.
“Fuck me.”
Gladly, Austie thought, “What is it?”
“It's Andy.”
Austie couldn't help but to be delighted about the dissatisfied and irritated time in Vicky's voice .
“I'm sorry Austie I have to take this you can continue though.”
Vicky stood up and left Austie while the movie was playing and entered her bathroom. Austie no longer cared about the movie, only the slight anger and frustration in the voice of Vicky Walker. That's when she started to raise her voice.
Austie stood up, her horns already at her head as she tip-toed to the bathroom, Vicky's voice being louder each step taken , curses were thrown everywhere it wasn't until Austie interrupted the tirade.
“Vicky, I'll be stepping out, I'll come back.”
_____
Austie came back into Vicky's apartment, with blood dripping on her and her horns out.
Killing Andy was simple.
She entered his apartment, found him while screaming at the phone and the following three minutes her mind went blank.
“Hey.”
“Hey, why are there horns on your head?”
Austie looked at her, “Do you want me to hug you? I could tell that you broke up.”
Vicky darkly chuckled , “And how did you come up with that conclusion?”
I just murdered Andy and made him a hound due to me being Satan’s wife and I happen to be so not normal about you.
“The shouting. That sounded tense.”
“Yeah, and he had the audacity to drop the phone while screaming about how much time I spend with you.”
He also screamed about that too.
“You probably don't deserve him.”
“Hey, Austie, do you want to stay with me, just for tonight?”
“Oh of course.”
Idle teen
Austie doesn't remember spending too much time with her dad. Sonneillon was present but Austie couldn't talk to him about what's going on internally with her.
Ever since she entered her adolescence, she's been very confused on what to feel.
Right now she's staying at the Academy away from her father. Away from the place that brought her peace and comfort.
Here however it's different.
First thing, she did not expect that she would be roommates with an Angel. She'd expected Mimi or Romy, her personal friend or as Mimi calls her , lapdog.
The Angel's name is Leeloo, she's blonde and blue eyed. She's kind, which surprised Austie.
“You seriously thought I'll let those stereotypes dictate that I shouldn't be friendly to you.”she said after getting tired of Austie's stares.
“Yes.”
Leeloo softly laughed, it was beautiful to Austie's ears.
After that she and Leeloo became close but only in their room, out there, their friendship was forbidden. In order to keep up with appearances she fake dated Lucifer . Who in return got his father to back off and be happy.
One night they were having a secret party at the abandoned train. Crowded as soft music was played .
Austie casually saw how they mingled together, angels and demons. She saw some of them kissing each other. Austie couldn't help but to find the sights beautiful in their own way. She then asked herself a question, why was this love frowned upon. It was beautiful just like any angel and Angel or demon and demon .
She then felt her hand touched and was dragged away into the lights of those who were there. She looked at the tattooed hand to see that it was Lucifer.
“What in Shepamalum 's balls are you doing?”
Lucifer drunk in glyft looked at her and slurred out, “Kiss me.”
“Why?”
“Kiss me please?”
Austie looked at Lucifer and decided to kiss him, this would have made young Austie happy. This Austie was a bit pissed that her mouth now smelled smoke and glyft.
She opened her eyes and saw that Dino, two goody Godly and prissy perfect Dino was watching her and Lucifer with hurt in his eyes and he looked away .
That is when she pushed Lucifer away and dragged him outside.
“What was that?”
What was wha?”
Austie became mad, she could sense that her eyes turned from green to red.
“The kiss Lucifer, the bloody kiss.”
“I wanted to make him mad.”
“Well don't bring whatever you have with prissy perfect Dino to me. How did this even happen?”
“Since we were kids.”
Austie took one good look at him, “Kids, Shepha's balls since you were kids. How in the hell didn't your father see this? Don't even answer me.”
Austie left Lucifer there and she flew back to the Academy, feeling confused about Lucifer and Dino.
A union between an angel and demon was frowned upon. It was illegal.
That's what she'd been screaming to herself after the party.
It didn't help that Lucifer was chasing after her, expecting her to rat on him. That hurt her feelings.
The holidays came faster and Austie was just done.
The forbidden friendship and love was strangling her bit by bit.
She was tired of it all.
Her father commented on her moodiness. She couldn't help but to snap at him.
After that she ran to her bedroom and would silently cry until her father would knock on her door.
“My little Rose, are you alright?”
Austie looked at the door, should she tell him about her?
“No father, please come in?’
Sonneillon opened the door gently and his heart broke when he saw his daughter's tears. He briefly wondered if she was crying about a boy.
“Oh Austie what is it?”
His daughter cried harder as he asked her the question, he went down to the same level as her, sitting down on the floor and hugged her. His wings covered both of them, shielding them from the outside noise.
“Father, will you judge me for being different?”
“No, I've already accepted your feather-like wings. They make you special in my eyes.”
“And what if I'm afraid of change?”
Sonneillon looked at her, “Then we can be both afraid of change.”
Austie looked at her father through her tears and the two of them stayed the same. That burden came off, the only thing that stayed was Lucifer's secret.
Sonneillon looked at his daughter, fast asleep, carried her to her bed and softly sang a song he heard as he came down on the mortal 's realm for an assignment.
