Riley sat in the back corner of the Shadow Dragon hideout, hookah in hand. His large form was draped over a couch, smoke curling from his mouth. He looked every part a fierce dragon, a warrior, maybe even a god. His horned head was leaned back as his eyes fluttered closed, fully relaxed as he lorded over his kingdom.
But his rest was short lived, as always interrupted by someone's need. The heavy footfalls of Tarquin made his head shoot up, mismatched eyes taking in the Templar with a slight tug at the corner of his handsome mouth.
“Let me guess, someone's skull needs cracking?” Riley asked as he unfurled himself with his natural grace, sitting at the edge of the couch as his elbows rested on his knees.
“Not quite,” Tarquin chuckled in response to his best friend. “But we do need your… expertise. Got a new recruit– Gladius. And he's proving to be quite the handful.”
"A handful?" Riley rolled his shoulders as he cracked his neck, a low hum escaping him before he rose to his full height. "You know training the new guys isn't my usual, Quin. What makes you think I want in on this?"
The Templar just shrugged in response, a casual move meant to be disarming. But the Qunari knew his old friend all too well. Tarquin wanted his help badly. This new guy must have really been some trouble to get this much attention.
"So basically I don't– want in on this, that is. But you want me in on this. So this is definitely going to be some shit..." Riley sighed as he ran his hand over his face. This was going to be a damn nightmare, but luckily for the Shadows he was always up for a challenge.
"Oh come on–" Quin encouraged with a clap on the Qunari's bicep that was a little too friendly. "Run just one mission with the guy. Keep an eye on him. Make sure things don't get too out of hand..."
Though if Tarquin knew what would follow, he might have rethought his request for Riley's assistance.
