Riley wasn't sure how much longer he could stand here and take this. When Gladius asked him to go out for a drink at the Swan this evening, he didn't think he would be standing here watching his fellow Dragon make out with some random guy.
Man wasn't even that good looking. Not nearly as charming as Riley either. It was taking everything the Qunari had not to growl and get between them. Jealousy had never been his game, but then again he had never been with Gladius before last night either.
Sure they hadn't talked about it– the steamy sex in some dark back alley. It had been… explosive. Charged. Everything Riley could ever want.
Not that Gladius seemed to give a damn as he shoved his tongue down some drunkard’s throat.
The Qunari finally had enough, slamming his half-empty mug down as he stalked off towards the back exit. Fuck this night. And fuck giving a damn.
He was halfway down the empty hall when Gladius caught up to him, calloused hand encircling Riley's wrist as he spun the Qunari to face him.
“Now where are you going, big guy?” he asked with an amused smirk. One that Riley did not return as he frowned down at his fellow Dragon.
“I'm going back to the hideout. No reason to spend my night watching you tongue fuck some guy in the corner.” He all but huffed as he spoke, though Gladius’ eyes danced with mirth as he leaned forward despite Riley's anger.
“Jealous much?” he chuckled as he invaded the Qunari's space. His hands came to rest against Riley's broad chest, instantly igniting the powder keg that had been brewing all evening as rough fingers gripped his hip.
“No,” Riley growled in a way that showed he was clearly lying. He dipped his horned head as he sought the sharp curve of Gladius’ jaw, nipping and teasing before he added, “Though maybe you do need to be reminded what being with a real man is like.”
That's all it took. Neither was sure who shoved whom into the dark storeroom, but Gladius ended up slammed against the wall, back pressed against the hard wooden surface. Firm hands roamed as sharp teeth nipped sensitive flesh. A chorus of groans and sighs echoed in the small space as both men sought to reclaim what they had hungered for all night.
Riley was somewhere between peeling off Gladius’ shirt and kneeling when he heard the man speak in an almost accusing tone, “I saw you flirting with that barmaid earlier.”
The words made him freeze, his eyes narrowing as he looked up at his fellow Dragon. It all suddenly made sense, how Gladius had gone from hanging on his every word to groping another right beside him.
“Fucking hell Gladius, is that what this is about?”
He hadn't even been flirting with the girl, not really. Just trying to get them a few drinks for the night, though thinking back maybe winking at her had been an unnecessary touch.
“You tell me,” the other Dragon replied with a shrug, in a way that showed he was clearly trying to hide some vulnerability beneath an uncaring facade. The dissonance of actions and feelings was almost palpable, but Riley was smart enough not to draw attention to it. Not when Gladius was finally opening up a little.
“You talk too damn much,” the Qunari replied with an easy grin as he let it go for now. He would have to remember to be more careful in the future, to not stroke the flames of both of their jealousies and mistrusts. All while carefully convincing Gladius that this was what he wanted, without saying the words aloud of course.
The other Dragon smiled down at him, his tension easing as his fingers hooked under Riley's chin and tilted his face upward as he challenged in a husky murmur, “Then why don't you show me what my mouth is for?”
