Chapter 1: How it all began

Chapter Text

Depression seeps through the cracks, drips through the crevices, yet still no one sees it until its too late. It drips into my stone heart that used to be so full of life. It drips its way slowly into my everyday life. It drips and drips and drips until I finally crack from the pressure. The cuts that litter my skin grow each day but I wish someone would finally see through my facade. I wish someone could save me from my pain before I find comfort in it. I just want to feel happy again. When I think I've finally dragged myself out of this hell, this melancholic state hits me like an avalanche, cold and heavy. I. Just. Want. To. Feel. Happy. Again...

As the boy shut his diary, he leant back on his chair and sighed. Izuku never used to struggle with talking about his feelings until his mom died, so now he wrote them all down instead. Once his mother died, his dad, Hisashi Midoriya, came back into his life. It wasn't until a few months later that he realised his father was the infamous All For One. He stood up from his desk chair with a slight groan feeling the aching in his joints for sitting in his chair for too long and then flopped down onto his bed feeling the softness of his many All Might blankets beneath him. He reaches into his nightstand to grab something out when his phone buzzed causing Izuku to stop in his tracks. As he reached over to grab the phone, his hand knocked a glass of water causing it to fall and smash against his hardwood floor littering the floor with shards of glass.

The moment it hit the floor, Izuku's whole body tensed up as if he was expecting something terrible to happen. The sound of hurried footsteps approached his door and Izuku mentally prepared himself from what was about to commence. His door swung open with a loud bang that reverberated around the whole house, yet no one was standing there. Confused, Izuku stood up and walked towards the window looked out of it to see that his fathers car was not in the driveway. He turned back to see who or what had opened his door and still, no one was there. This was until he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. It almost looked like something had run into his room, but yet again, he couldn't see anything. However he did feel an overwhelming presence surrounding him as the room temperature plummeted. Izuku's phone began blowing up with texts and so, treading lightly, he grabbed his phone from where he had left it.

As he looked at his phone, Izuku realized that his friends had made another group chat ''probably Mina's idea'' he thought to himself as he unlocked his device and opened the new group chat. The name of the group was called '3 idiots and 2 mediums'. Izuku was confused about what it meant and so he decided to open the chat to see what they were talking about. However, he realised that it was just Denki constantly claiming that he could see ghosts or some stupid shit like that. As he thought that he realised that he sounded more and more like Kacchan everyday and slightly cringed. Izuku looked back down at his phone and sighs as he watches Mina tell him to shut up before Denki messages "he's behind you Izuku". The chat went silent.

Izuku typed a furious reply to Denki "What the actual hell Denki, that's not funny at all." As he sent tha,t Izuku felt a light tap on his shoulder, the touch was freezing. Izuku span around so fast that he wasn't surprised if he almost gave himself whiplash but that's when he realized Denki wasn't wrong. Izuku jumped back, completly frightened as he stepped back onto a piece of glass, the sharp pain shooting through his foot almost immediately. A tall dark figure loomed over him as if watching his every move before vanishing like nothing happened. Izuku sighed and thought that he was beginning to see things as he sat down on his bed and tended to the wound on his foot, carefully wrapping a bandage around it. afterwards he started cleaning up the glass before his father got home

As Izuku cleared up the glass he thought back to what Denki had said in that group chat as a shiver ran down his spine. Even after what he had just experienced, Izuku decided that it was just him playing pranks again. "Not funny Denki" Izuku muttered under his breath whilst imagining beating Denki up the next time he saw him. Izuku went outside to dispose the shards of glass that had previously littered the floor before going back to his room and flopping down onto his bed.

As Izuku began to get comfortable, a sleek black car pulled into the driveway, his father's car. He sighed and sat up in his bed bracing himself for what was to come. The front door slammed open and the sound echoed throughout the whole house. Izuku heard his father's rushed footsteps slam against the floor like someone playing the drums as they approached closer and closer to his room. Izuku's bedroom door burst open for the second time today however this time his father's silhouette filled the doorway, blocking out all light that could have come through. As he stared at his father, Hisashi's voice cut through the temporary silence, even louder than the footsteps that approached his door. "What are you doing?" The loudness of his voice caused Izuku to flinch and he could have sworn that his father found some amusement in that by the small smirk that appeared on his face suddenly before disappearing just as fast. "I'm just resting after finishing my homework Father." He wanted to beat himself up for how weak he sounded as he noticed his father's glare begin to intensify. "Why are you 'Just resting' when there is things to be done around the house, that's what I told you to do, isn't it?" Izuku's voice began to tremble as he stuttered out a quick reply "Yes Father, I'm sorry Father." Hisashi's glare intensified once more as he began to grow increasingly pissed "Well what are you waiting for, get your lazy ass out of your bed and make me food, you little bitch."
