Chapter Text
“Hey, I know it's not much but I'm sorry about Elek. Fucking Threads man.” Riley sat on the edge of the roof beside Jericho, looking out over Dock Town as he tried to offer some comfort. The heartache of chasing a member of their rival gang wasn't unknown to him. He had been young and foolish once himself, and the scars of those days still marred his battered heart.
“Birds of a feather and all that,” shrugged the younger man as he held up a bottle of whiskey, taking a long swig before he passed it on to the Qunari.
“That's the way to think,” said Riley as he leaned over, gently bumping Jericho's shoulder as a wide smile split his handsome features. His mismatched eyes captured the younger man's gaze and held them, his breath slightly catching as the Qunari's deep voice added, “We take care of our own, Jericho. Always.” The air between them seemed to sizzle with unspoken words. That Riley was ready and waiting, for whatever his fellow Shadow would need.
