Chapter Text
It was pathetic. It was weak.
Once powerful flesh was reduced to a tiny form. It was a terrible body, easily visible from first glance: no sharp claws, no teeth which could easily tear flesh, no spikes or thorns. Just a small body, soft skin, and pliant muscles.
Of course, it wasn’t its first time being a human. They were very adaptable, giving it more options how to kill; after all, it was reborn a couple times as humans, almost always ending up a serial killer.
But of course, there was a downside. Humans were much smarter than animals. So even though being a serial killer at first was very fun, it quite often ended in federal prison by the end of its life.
If it could choose, it would become a vulture. Humans need a long time to learn how to do anything, let alone to be dangerous enough to pose any physical threat.
For now, everything was dark around it. Other sensations felt like a lightning on a clear, cloudless day. It quite often heard voices, as if it was in a house and they were people talking outside of it.
…
Zip waited in the hospital, holding her phone as she texted Oliver and Edward, her tail swishing from side to side due to impatience(and maybe annoyance).
Oliver: "Oi Zip, when you’ll be free?"
Edward: "Yea we got a hangout planned for tomorrow."
Edward: "And we need to make sure that you have 20 bucks you owe me"
Oliver: "Mf who are we??? You’re the only one who needs money for your robot"
Edward: "THATS A DRONE."
Zip: "Both of you shut it"
Zip: "Today I’m getting my lil bro so you better shut the hell up and stop blowing up my phone."
There was a moment of silence in the chat, and just as Zip was going to hide her phone, she felt the phone vibrating in her hand.
Oliver: "THEN WHY DID YOU STILL COME TO SCHOOL TODAY????"
Edward: "YOU COULDVE USED IT AS AN EXCUSE TO GET OUT OF MISS THAVELS TORTURE OF A LECTURE"
Zip only sighed and rolled her eyes, before putting her phone it her pocket. She crossed her arms, waiting for the doctor to come out and say that she can finally come in.
Who even made childbirth so long? I’m sure everyone would appreciate if it was much shorter. Zip thought, already considering walking away and maybe getting herself something to eat, when finally, she was allowed to come in.
Zip nearly sprinted into the room, barely regaining her footing once she finally was inside. Zip came up to the bed, seeing her mother lying there, with her little brother.
Zip barely heard when her mother said "Meet your little brother, Zipster.", simply looking at a bundled up child.
"His eyes are open." Zip remarked, cocking her head to the side "Ain’t he supposed to have ’em closed?"
"He’s probably just an early boomer," Zip’s mother reassured her, giving her a gentle pat on the head. "Do you want to hold him?"
Hesitantly, Zip picked him up, looking at a strange child in her arms. He’s fuckin’ weird. But fuck it, he’s my lil bro after all!
…
Just after Zip ran in, doctor walked down the hallway, entering the on-call room for doctors, sitting down in a chair and slumping against it.
"Spit it out. What happened?" Another doctor asked, "You’re usually unruffled by a simple delivery."
"Dude, kid’s eyes were fuckin’ open. And he didn’t even cry. He just started at me. Menacingly."
The other doctor simply mumbled, "Yea, you definitely should keep your hands out of my weed stash."
