Work Text:
Enid tapped her hands on her thighs anxiously, glancing at the clock in her and Wednesday's room, every minute feeling like an hour or longer. The full moon was tonight, and the first she will spend outside of the Lupin Cages, the first one she's gonna spend as an Alpha without having to worry about being hunted down by her own kind, the first one she's gonna spend with her pack rather than alone.
But the most nerve-wracking part was that it was the first full moon she was gonna spend with her mate. Mate, soulmate, future wife, love of her life, any way she thought of it made her giddy and filled her with dread.
Wednesday said she would be here on time and the Seer was never late. It was kind of freaky actually, but in a sweet, cute way because Enid knew that she would never miss a date with her.
She looked at the clock again, a few more minutes.
Her phone buzzed and made her jump. Yoko. Of course she'd be calling now. "Yoko, kinda short on time here girl."
"Yeah, yeah, full moon, alone with your girlfriend, I know all about it. I just wanted to check in on you. How are you doing there, Enid?" Yoko's voice, while teasing, also head a good degree of concern. She was like the big sister Enid never had, of course she worried.
"Freaking out but I think I can handle myself. I've got movies, blankets, monochrome so Wednesday doesn't have to take as much medicine, snacks, romantic candles to set the mood if she wants to cuddle and make out." She sighed dreamily, her cheeks blushing at the thought.
"Ew." Enid jumped out of her skin at the disgusted voice.
It was Agnes of course, who appeared next to her bed with a grossed out look on her face. "Agnes! How long have you been here?! How do you keep getting in here?!"
"I know how to pick locks. I actually just wanted to check if you needed anything before your date night but maybe I should have announced myself when I walked in so I would spare my ears of what I just heard. Then again I'm glad I've only had to hear about it, not witness it." Somehow her expression got even more disgusted.
"Hi, if it isn't the pup's pup! How you doing kiddo?" Yoko loved to tease Enid and Wednesday, saying that they adopted Agnes and whatnot.
"I was doing much better before I heard of the plans Enid has but I'll live. Anyways, Enid, anything else you need me to get for you guys? Do you have a first aid kit?"
"Agnes, why in the world would we need that? Wednesday and I have a full moon date night, we're not gonna fight each other." Although that might be a good date night idea as far as Wednesday was concerned. She compromised.
Yoko snorted at Enid's question and before the werewolf could hang up on her she heard, "In case you get too wild."
If Enid didn't love her phone that much she would have smashed it against the wall right in that moment. She had the self-restraint to throw a pillow over it instead.
"Again, gross. But not completely inaccurate to what I was thinking. Werewolves can be more animal-like on full moons and there's no telling how an Alpha will behave." Enid bristled up at the thought of herself hurting Wednesday, or anyone. She was never the violent type, only resorting to it if she had to protect those she loved.
"I know. Trust me, Agnes I know that. That's why I got... well a few things that Wednesday could use to rein me in if she needs to. You know, muzzles and shit." She hated those. She hated that they could be necessary. They made her feel like an animal rather than a human. It was humiliating but she would rather wear that than risk hurting her mate.
"As much as I would love to see you so feral, mi lupa, I doubt we well be in need of a muzzle." Enid, for the third time, almost had a heart attack. She didn't know when Wednesday walked in but she stood right next to Agnes, her hands behind her back, her spine straight and face stoic.
"When did- are you to sure you're not related through some super distant cousin or something?" Even tough Agnes no longer strived to look like Wednesday or imitate her there were still quite a few creepy mannerisms that they shared.
Agnes grinned at Enid, or rather at her theory, "That would be wonderful! I'll look into it right away!"
The vanisher giggled before skipping out of the room, vanishing mid-jump.
"Very nice job getting rid of her. Consider me impressed, Enid." Wednesday made sure the door is locked. Not just because of Agnes but for anyone else who might get the idea to interrupt them. She already informed Thing and he promised to stay clear of the dorm room for the night.
"I wasn't trying to, I was being serious." The thought of the two weirdos, and Enid used that term very affectionately, being related seemed increasingly possible with each passing day. But Enid didn't want to dwell on mysteries like that tonight. "Hi there, roomie. Come to keep little old me company tonight?"
Her wink made Wednesday’s eye twitch, "Not if you keep talking like that. This is not one of your horrific romance films."
"No but I do have a few picked out for us! Depending on how horrified you feel on getting tonight I have: Legally Blonde, Barbie, Elemental and if you want to mix in some blood and gore, Lisa Frankenstein. Your pick, Wends!" Enid watched all of them of course, but she never watched them with a girlfriend. Or a boyfriend, neither Ajax or Bruno got an invitation for a movie night with cuddles.
"I do not know of any you just mentioned but I suppose if I am being forced to pick one then I choose Frankenstein. As payback I will be pointing out all the ways pop culture has destroyed a great work of horror."
"Wow, maybe you should start a YouTube channel about it." Enid said with no small amount of sarcasm as she grabbed her heavily decorated laptop and started to arrange blankets.
"I have no desire to participate in social media or its forms of entertainment. It has been proven to rot an individual's brain and I prefer those things to happen naturally and under my observation." Enid didn't know if Wednesday was being literal with looking at brains and she concluded that it was best that she didn't ask.
"Cuddle pile is done. Sit anywhere you want, I'll get the snacks." End paused as she walked past Wednesday, "Oh, I almost forgot!" With her hand on Wednesday's hip she leaned down and pressed a brief, but no less electrifying kiss on her girlfriend's lips. "Welcome back, Wednesday. Love you!"
A hint of a smile tugged at the corner of the raven's mouth, "And I love you as well, Enid, but it has only been a few hours that we've been apart. Hardly worthy of welcoming me back like this."
"Oh, shush, don't argue with your beautiful girlfriend on a full moon night." Enid suspected that Wednesday did it because her reaction was to pout. The pout didn't last long, only until she turned with her hands full of snacks and saw her girlfriend patiently waiting for her. "And not to make this extra comfortable." She of course scooted up against Wednesday, "Can I be the big spoon while we watch the movie?"
Batting her eyelashes would normally get her an eyeroll from Wednesday and nothing more but this time it was followed by the smallest nod. This was a golden opportunity and Enid took it.
Wednesday was mostly silent through the film, safe for pointing out some things that didn't make sense in terms of resurrection and medical procedures.
"I can't believe she just gave him bottom surgery. I know a lot of people who only wish it was that easy." Enid commented from her position, her head resting against Wednesday's shoulder.
"If that is what they wish I would be more than happy to oblige. I am excellent with a scalper and needle." She glanced at Enid, who was much better to look at than any movie, "How are you doing, Enid? Calm?"
"Sort of. My teeth hurt and my senses are all on high alert but I don't have the urge to transform. You are keeping me nice and relaxed. Liked a stress toy." To tease her Enid bit down on the exposed part of her neck. Affectionately.
"This toy can and will bite back." That was more of promise than a threat. An affectionate one.
"I wouldn't object to that." In what was a bit of awkward angle Enid pressed her lips to Wednesday's, who turned slightly in her arms to make it easier. Her hand came up to cup the side of Wednesday's face, her tongue silently asking for entrance with the goth so enthusiastically granted.
Lately Wednesday seemed more than eager to respirate and even initiate some of their amorous activities. It was a huge step in their relationship, Enid thought. As well as a show of trust from Wednesday.
Enid's other hand slipped under Wednesday's shirt, resting mostly at her side, with her fingers itching towards her stomach. “This, okay?" She asked with an inch separating their lips.
"I would let you know right away if I objected. You are doing well." She brushed her nose against Enid's, which was significantly warmer than her own. She no longer objected to such warmth.
"You could even call me a good girl." The blonde grinned even as her next kiss was dodged.
"I could but I don't know if I should. You always have a response to it that is, in my opinion, a little exaggerated." Much like a dog when you give it treats or head pats. And even though Enid lacked a tail in this form Wednesday could clearly imagine it wagging.
"It's called having a praise kink and getting turned on. Not that I need any help with that when I'm with you." Enid leaned further against the headboard and lifted Wednesday up a little, positioning her so she straddled the werewolf's lap.
"Horny wolf. If you keep this up will consider getting the muzzle and a spray bottle. Or perhaps, at this point, a cold shower would do you better." Enid whined at the idea of being separated. On nights like this she was extra clingy. But she didn't ask if Wednesday planned on joining her in said cold shower.
"No need, I just want to cuddle with my girlfriend, promise. Pinky promise even." Enid knew Wednesday would go for the pinky promise but she tried it anyways. She was met with the blankest stare. "Good enough for me."
"Only the best for you, Enid." Wednesday kissed her one more time, pulling away before the kiss could get too heated. "Let us finish the movie. Then I would have ideas for Viper's next adventures I would like to get your opinion on." That too was an enormous show of trust. Wednesday never let anyone read her books before they were perfect, but not only did Enid get to do that, she got to know every version of them that has ever crossed Wednesday's adorably twisted mind.
Enid once again placed her chin upon Wednesday's shoulder, "Sure. Anything for my mate."
