Crash sat in his seat, waiting for his name to be called. It was his class's graduation ceremony. Coco, Crunch, and Tawna sat a few rows over, all neatly dressed.
He was wearing his cadet uniform, a generic blue police uniform. However, it had WILED (Wumpa Island Law Enforcement Division) patches on both sides of the collar and on the back and front left pocket flap. There were other cadets there, wearing various uniforms, representing the various law enforcement agencies on Wumpa Island. Crash chose WILED, which is Wumpa Island's state police essentially.
The moment had finally come, weeks of training and now, it was time to get his badge.
The superintendent, an older human male, stepped up to the podium and began calling names to receive their badges.
Crash was a bit nervous, but kept his cool and maintained posture.
The superintendent started calling names. He went row by row until he got to the row he was on.
Finally, the superintendent called his name. "Cadet Crash Yarbarough Bandicoot."
Crash bolted up and walked over to the podium. The superintendent grabbed a badge and then pinned it on Crash's shirt and then shook hands with Crash. "Congratulations cadet. Best of luck in your future as a law officer." He said.
"Thanks a ton, superintendent." Crash said before returning to his seat. He felt like he had done the impossible.
After the ceremony, Coco ran to him and hugged him. "You did it big brother!" She said.
Crash hugged her back. "I did Coco, I really did." He said.
Tawna and Crunch also came over to congratulate Crash.
Tawna hugged him, so did Crunch, forming a big hug.
"Congrats bro." Crunch said.
"Proud of you Crash." Tawna said.
(Note: Crash and Tawna stopped dating after the events of the first game and are now just friends).
Crash then thought about Dr. Cortex. Even after all their fights through the years, they made up and became friends. He thought about how Dr. Cortex was probably proud of him as he recovered in the hospital from his recent surgery.
He could already imagine Neo hugging him and saying "Good job lad."
Officer Crash Bandicoot was there, ready to report for duty and protect the island, come rain, typhoon, snow, stampede, riot, stampede, or whatever.
