Work Text:
“You’re late.” Sieun greeted him with a peck when Seongje came home.
“I’m sorry, Princess. The client insisted that I should go for dinner with them. Couldn’t dodge it.” He circled his arms around Sieun’s tiny waist, pulling him into a hug. He buried his nose into the crook of his boyfriend’s neck, inhaling the sweet scent. Sieun always smelled good, florally sweet like a soft spring breeze. “How’s he?”
“He’s asleep, just restless.” Sieun sighed as he wriggled his way out of Seongje’s embrace and walked into their bedroom, opening the door quietly. “The fever broke down, but you know him. I should coax him to sleep. He agreed only after I promised I’d wake him up when you got home.”
Seongje followed behind, making as little noise as possible as he entered the room. Sieun was sitting at the edge of the bed, leaning in to fulfill his promise: waking Juntae up when Seongje was home.
Juntae caught a cold this morning. He had been unwell since a day before, and the fever caught up just the morning after. Sieun had to call for a day leave because he was too worried that Juntae’s condition would worsen when he wasn’t around. Seongje felt a bit guilty for that—it would be quite a hard day for him to take care of Juntae while handling his work from home. He looked even more tired than usual, and Seongje couldn’t help but kiss him on his forehead as a form of gratitude for his hardwork before he sat at the other side of the bed, stroking Juntae’s hair gently.
Juntae stirred awake the moment Sieun whispered softly, telling him that Seongje was home. Cheeks red, eyes glistening, he reached out to Seongje with both arms. “Seongje,” he called weakly, voice a little hoarse.
“Hey.” Seongje sneaked an arm around Juntae’s small shoulders, pulling him a little into a comforting hug. “Hey, Baby. Are you okay? How are you feeling?”
“Better,” answered Juntae as he snuggled up in his boyfriend’s arms. “Even better that you’re here. You were late, though.”
“I’m sorry, Baby. I tried to get home as soon as possible, but…”
Juntae chuckled, letting him know there was no bite in his complaint. “I know. The client was important. I didn’t want you to get distracted.” He shifted to make room for Seongje to join him in bed. “Sieunie took good care of me.”
“I can see that.”
Juntae took Sieun’s hand, bringing the palm to his cheek and snuggled there. “Thank you, Sieunie. I’m sorry for troubling you all day.”
And, Seongje could see how the pair of obsidian orbs softened, how they stared gently and lovingly—and he always loved it. Sieun could be quiet and reserved, a little cold and unfriendly, but when it came to those he cared the most, especially his two boyfriends, Sieun could be the warmest. The kiss he planted on Juntae’s forehead, the fingers that were running through Juntae’s hair—it was all warm.
“I was worried, not troubled,” Sieun said softly. “You should go back to sleep now, though.”
Juntae whined in protest. “I still want to cuddle.” He pouted, but still complied. The big yawn that followed shortly after was a proof that he was sleepy, anyway. Maybe the medicine had kicked in. Maybe he was tired after battling the cold all day. Maybe the mixture of them both. It didn’t take long until Juntae drifted back to the dreamland.
“And you should go shower,” Sieun then ordered Seongje after he made sure Juntae was fast asleep. He got out to get Seongje his towel before dragging him to the bathroom.
“Aren’t you gonna join me?” Seongje smirked, amused to see Sieun deadpan.
“No. I’m hungry.”
There was a concern flicking in Seongje’s eyes. “Have you not had dinner yet?”
Sieun shook his head. “I was a little caught up between work and Juntae, I guess,” he answered lightly, as though it was nothing. It might be nothing for him, but Seongje started to worry and Seongje knew Sieun could see that because then, his lips curled into a reassuring smile. “I’m okay. Go shower.”
Usually, Seongje would take longer in the shower after having a long, tiring day. A nice, warm bath to relax his muscles would feel good, especially when either Juntae or Sieun joined him. But, he would make it quick this time. Sieun had gone through a hard day, even thinking of how he spent a day tired Seongje. So for once, he would sacrifice his nice bath and be a good company for Sieun instead.
Sieun was in the living room when Seongje finished showering, a smell of instant ramyeon filling the air. The man looked up at him when a hand was placed on top of his head, mouth busy munching his simple meal. “Hi,” he said.
“Hi.” Seongje took an empty spot next to Sieun. “Just ramyeon?”
“Gotta take the easiest to cook.”
Because he was tired and hungry. Seongje’s chest clenched achingly.
“You’ve been good.” He saw pink bloom on those cheeks. He couldn’t help but kiss it.
“Hey, I’m still eating,” Sieun protested without a bite.
He stroked Sieun’s hair gently. “You must be tired. It was such a long day for you.”
“For us.” Sieun sighed, putting his noodle bowl aside even though he seemed to only finish half of it. Before Seongje could open his mouth, asking him to eat first before anything else, Sieun had leaned in. Seongje couldn’t help but let him snuggle into his embrace. “Have I been good enough?” he muttered the question.
“You’ve been so good. Thank you, Princess.”
Sieun looked up at him, a pair of pretty obsidian eyes reminding Seongje of all the reasons why he had fallen for this man. “Can I get a kiss for being good?”
Seongje chuckled. Sieun was bad at showing what he felt, but it was getting better lately, as he had been comfortable enough with the dynamics of their relationship. He started asking for lovely things, voicing what inside his head. No more bottling everything up, and it was just the sweetest. Seongje loved how honest Sieun could be when it was just the three of them—only for them.
“C’mere, you pretty princess.” Sieun let out a giggle when Seongje peppered his face with soft kisses; it slowly died down just when Seongje captured his lips into an even gentler kiss. “I love you,” he whispered into his lips. “I love you more than you could imagine. Fuck, I really love you, Yeon Sieun.”
“Even when our kiss tastes like ramyeon?”
Seongje barked a loud laugh.
“Even more when our kiss tastes like ramyeon.”
