Chapter Text
Nagisa tightly gripped the the strap of his back pack, the bruises he’d been given by his mother throbbed and the cut from when she’d thrown a vase at him stung. He’d packed away everything he could get his hands on that he thought would help him in his escaped.
He’d packed away a small blanket, food, spare change he’d been secretly collecting without his mother noticing, his beloved sketchbook, a full water bottle and some snacks he had ransacked from the kitchen. There wasn’t really anything in the kitchen to actually eat. It was all boring inedible diet food that Nagisa had been forced into wearing.
Nagisa looked behind him. His door was locked and his mother was in her room. Refusing to talk to Nagisa as a punishment for what he did wrong.
He squeezed his eyes shut. I’m such a bad kid, he thought to himself, I’m so rebellious and I can never do anything right! It’s like for some reason I just can’t obey authority. I’ve brought my mother so much pain, but she won’t have to worry about me anymore she can finally live the life she wanted! Nagisa sniffled and reopened his eyes, he slid the small window of his bedroom open. If he was just a little bigger he wouldn’t of fit. Thankfully the harsh diets Nagisa’s mother Hiromi had forced her ‘precious daughter’ allowed him to squeeze through.
He starred down, unfortunately he didn’t live on the first level so he had quite a ways down if he fell. He’d probably get permantley injured or even die if he did.
Nagisa swung from his window sill to the the fire exit that was a little ways away from his room.
He dropped down onto the exit, it made a metallic thud. He’d tried to be silent but even with his small light frame he couldn’t mask all the sounds he made. His heart began to beat faster. Nagisa quickly began to descend the fight of stairs, his legs starting to feel like jelly.
What if mum heard me? Would she have looked out the window? Did she see me?! Oh shit oh shit she probably did, shes probably coming after me right now. Nagisa choked on his tears. Unlike her cherished little daughter Hiromi was an Alpha. Alphas were dangerous when they were mad, they were unstable creatures when they didn’t have an Omega to keep them regulated.
Nagisa winced, his dad had been a Beta. His dad had ran off and left him behind with his mum. He abandoned them, he didn’t want his son. Nagisa was a burden, his father made that clear when he left. Hiromi always told him that he wasn’t. But the crashouts and the attacks made it clear that wasn’t the truth. Nagisa’s bad behaviour had brought his mother to a mental breaking point. When she was in a dark phase she would always tell him that.
Nagisa’s shoes finaly hit the concrete, he wasn’t very sporty, not fit either, but that didn’t matter. His instincts were screaming at him to run as fast as he could. He was an Omega, he was prey, and his mother, the selfless Alpha she was, would run after her pup even if he had driven her to insanity.
Nagisa kept running, he didn’t know where to go. He’d only been let outside when his mother wanted to show him off and buy him pretty clothes. He had seen a map of the city briefly on TV but it all seemed so confusing. A mess of straight and curvy lines and he didn’t know where his house was on that map.
The best thing I can do is find somewhere to hide! Nagisa thought to himself. I don’t deserve my mum, shes to good for me, and she doesn’t deserve me. A little pathetic omega. He felt a pang of sorrow and guilt twist in his gut. Damn he really was a bad kid! Leaving his mother without an Omega to help her regulate her emotions and to take the role of her in-home therapist. It’s alright. He told himself. I was only bringing her more pain, now she can focus on finding an Omega who actually knows how to do their job!!
After what felt like two hours of running Nagisa came to a bridge, there was a small alleyway under neath it. This part of the city was much dirtier than anywhere he’d even been before. Nagisa walked down the small alley way. At the end of it was a huddle of fallen over garbage bins that seemed to have been forgotten by whoever owned them. Dried peices of soggy card board boxes littered the floor.
This will do… Nagisa told himself as he moved the bins to the side and made them into a small den looking structure. 3 on the sides with one side without a bin that touched the wall and one bin on top that made a small roof. Nagisa bunkered down inside the small makeshift shelter, pulling his blanket over him and resting his head on his backpack. He’d decided not to eat. Despite the hunger biting at his stomach his anxiety wouldn’t let him eat. He knew that if he ate anything he’d vomit it right up.
The next morning Nagisa got up at dusk, he liked his little alley way and knew that he’d probably be living on the streets so it’d most likley become his little house from now on. At only 15 years old his future was already looking grim, oh well after everything he’d put his parents through he only deserved as much.
The first thing he did that morning was survey the area, make sure there were no cops looking for him or any shady people. As an Omega he knew that he couldn’t properly defend himself, he could barley run away from home without fainting of exhaustion so he knew that if he came face to face with trouble his best chance was to submit.
He didn’t spot anyone dangerous looking. No one was out yet, he decided that the smartest thing to do was to buy something to keep him warm in the cold weather. He entered a cheap convenience store that was selling crappy clothes. He was browsing through the racks when something just above the counter caught his attention.
Oh shit! He thought as he recognised the face on the poster. It was him, in an older photo of himself in black and white but it was still clearly him! A large text read above it, MISSING : HAVE YOU SEEN ME? With a small decription underneath of his picture. Nagisa gulped down he anxiety and quietly left the store as normally as he could. Oh shit oh shit oh shit!! My mum told the police! People know I’m missing they’re looking for me. I’ve gotta stay down low. His heart drummed against his ribs so forcefully it felt like it might burst out of his chest!
Nagisa walked back to his lonley little alley way. From now on he’d only go out at night when there would be less people around. He wished he had hair ties, his air was long and messy and kept getting in his face. He really did look like a runaway teen. Nagisa slumped down once he got back to his shelter.
If only I had been born a girl! Then I wouldn’t be such a disappointment to mum! Maybe daddy would of stayed if I was born a girl…
He spent the rest of the day in his little shelter. Dozing off, day dreaming, scribbling in his sketchbook and taking a bite of one of the apples he’d taken with him and having a big sip of water. At around 8 o’clock he heard people walking past him and hanging under the bridge. He couldn’t pick up any scents so he assumed they were Betas. After a few minutes the betas started fighting, they was screaming and crashing sounds. One of them shouted about something. Nagisa swore he hear them say the word Alpha. He curled up into a ball and pressed against the wall in fright, hoping his stack of bins and his blanket would protect him.
The fighting stopped eventually, it sounded like the Betas had ran off.
“Ah! Smells like one of them ran down here”, a voice growled from what sounded like just outside the alleyway. “Come out little Beta~ I won’t be letting you get away so easily when you and your friends stole my cash the other day.”
Nagisa peeked out from behind his blanket. Crap, someone was coming down the alley way. Their voice and footsteps only getting louder as they approached. He ducked under the blanket and held it in place. Willing for the Alpha to just move along and leave him be.
The Alphas shadow was right above him, he trembled in place hoping that the smell of the bins masked his scent.
Alphas are dangouse! Nagisa reminded himself. If that one finds me who knows what he’ll do to me? I should’ve just stayed home with my mother! this is what happens to ungreatful children!
Suddenly the blanket was forced away, snatched by the Alpha and thrown to the side. Nagisa squeezed his eyes shut as tight as he could and compressed himself into the tiniest ball he could make.
“An… Omega?” The Alpha said after a confused pause before getting down so he could be closer to him. “What are you doing here? Don’t you know it’s dangerous on the streets for an Omega?”
Nagisa froze. He’d been found out. Now what? Do whatever this Alpha told him too he guessed.
“Hang on a sec how old are you? You look pretty young, younger than me!” The Alpha huffed and prodded him. “You know you don’t have to be scared of me, I won’t hurt you.”
Nagisa lifted the lids of his eyes open a crack so he could see. A figure leaned above him. An older year old boy by the looks of it, and a normal one not like him. He had red hair and… he smelled… nice? Why did he smell nice?! Alphas were supposed to smell like danger and fear? Had Nagisa been wrong? Was this kid an Omega as well?
He sat up and opened his eyes. Still a little wary of the newcomer. “W-who are you?” He croaked.
“I’m Karma Akabane, I’m an Alpha.” The other boy introduced himself, smirking now that he was talking.
At the word Alpha Nagisa leapt back with a yelp. How had he been tricked? Was this alpha masking his scent with perfume or something so he could get helpless Omegas to trust him?
“You don’t have to be afraid of me,” Karma tsk’ed, “I’m an Alpha, what we do is protect people.”
“You hurt those Betas,” Nagisa growled with a viciousness he didn’t know he possessed.
“Yeah, cus they stole my fucking money!” Karma sighed before focusing back on him. “What are you doing all the way back here in an alleyway? Aren’t you a little to young to be living out on the streets by yourself?”
“I’m 15,” Nagisa replied, “and I can take care of myself.”
“15? You sure thats how old you are? And you don’t look anywhere near as old as me. Then again I guess girls do age differently to guys?”
“I AM a guy!” Nagisa barked annoyed, couldn’t this Alpha just leave him alone? He was starting to get scared. What did this guy even want from him anyways.
“Oooo-Kay!” Karma laughed, “you sure?”
Nagisa crumpled. He didn’t know why that was his breaking point it just was. He curled back into a ball and whimpered on his tears and sobbed.
Karma suddenly straightened up as he could fully smell his fear and anguish. His eyes becoming focused and alert as he reached out and put his hand on Nagisa’s shoulder. “Why don’t you come with me? I’ve got a nice place you can stay at if you like! Or I can help you get back to your parents.”
Nagisa sagged even more at the mention of his parents. Seeing his mother was the last thing he wanted to do right now! She would be furious her precious daughter had run off and was now cornered by another Alpha.
The best thing to do is submit… He reminded himself. If I do what this Alpha says then he won’t get mad at me. The best way to deal with Alphas is to go along with what they say.
“Sure, I-I’ll go with you.” He squeaked and shakily stood up with Karma’s help.
“Good! My parents aren’t home, they never are. So you can take my room if you want and I can sleep in there bed!” Karma smiled.
He looked so genuine, so.. happy? He was probably glad that he’d managed to snag himself a submissive Omega to take advantage of. Nagisa didn’t even know how long this Alpha had been without someone to help him regulate his emotions. He was probably pretty unstable. And from his own experience Nagisa knew that he was only good at provoking Alphas instead of helping them.
Oh well… at least I get to avoid my mother, and if this guy keeps me locked up in his house then no one will be able to find me! Unless he see’s the flyers for me that is…
