Work Text:

It was nineteen minutes past one — all the lights in the shared house were off, except for a dim yellow one in the kitchen. Kim Jungsu sat at the dining table, staring blankly at the laptop screen — a monthly report that he needed to finish before the upcoming week. The more he looked at the spreadsheet, the more those endless letters and numbers seemed to dance vigorously to the faint EDM beats from the nearby pub. The blond lightly swore to himself, tiredly leaning back to the chair — he couldn’t finish this horrendous work tonight for sure.

“You’re up late again?” a familiar deep voice rang from behind. The young man turned back to look at the voice. His other half was leaning against the door, clearly full of concern.

“You’re back early.” Jungsu cocked his head.

“I missed my housecat,” Gunil replied, walking up to the blond and lovingly placing a kiss to his temple while his right hand petting the soft cat ears.

“Cheesy.” The cat hybrid frowned, yet his flushing cheeks said otherwise. The other man said nothing, but planted more kisses on his forehead, cheeks, nose, and lastly — his plump lips.

“Go to bed, work can be done later.” As much as Jungsu wanted to argue back that his work was almost done, he was too exhausted to do so. And honestly, a soft bed (and his partner’s cuddles, although Gunil didn’t need to sleep) sounded a lot more appealing than the spreadsheet in front of him. The young man stood up from his seat, stretched his sore muscles, saved the file on the laptop and went straight to their bedroom.

 ---

It was four minutes past two, the two were cuddling on their bed when Jungsu suddenly wondered out loud:

“Do vampires even have to sleep?”

“Technically, no. But sometimes I want to relive my human years. Plus, you make a nice body pillow.” Gunil snuggled closer to his boyfriend and buried his nose into the other’s soft blonde locks, inhaling the sweet honey scent from the shampoo he used in the shower.

“Guess I’m no longer your boyfriend, but a mere pillow.” He could hear a sulky pout in Jungsu’s voice, which made him slightly chuckle.

“The softest, fluffiest, and most attractive pillow I have ever had.”—Even more snuggling and head kissing.

“Ew, that was lame.”

“But you love me nonetheless.”

“...”

“Go to sleep,”

“Don’ wanna, I st’ll wan’ t’ talk t’ you.” The blond’s voice was thick with sleep.

“I can sing you a lullaby.” Gunil lightly joked.

“Pl’se,” came a drowsy whisper from his other half.

That caught Gunil by surprise, but he started singing. It was a song back when he was a child — so soft and oh, so sweet. And by the time he finished singing, his boyfriend’s breathing was even — he must have drifted off to sleep already.

“Sweet dreams, love.” He planted a kiss on top of Jungsu’s head and closed his eyes.

It was the most peaceful sleep he had had in decades.

Notes:

This was written a long time ago. But I don't want to keep it to myself although I'm fighting the urge to delete everything once again because I'm not good at writing D:

Thanks for reading and have a good day/night! :)
