Am I number 5? No, I'm nothing.

Summary:

When Franklin was a child, everything was easier, but now in his adolescence he's noticed some things. Of course, it's not some kind of villain trying to steal his powers, but it's something that bothers him. But he doesn't have anything to worry about;

Notes:

Hi, so English isn't my first language yet and I hate doing it on my phone, and it's impossible to write fanfiction on the computer without some annoying person bothering me or wanting to know what I'm writing in this damn thing.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Franklin loves his family but has serious doubts about them.

After many villains put their lives at risk because of Franklin's powers, he increasingly sees himself as a danger, which is not good at all, but he quickly overcomes it.

He feels more and more out of place in his family. Despite being considered the 5th member, he thinks the role would be better suited to Uncle Peter, not him. He never saw much use for himself, especially since he doesn't have to fix universes every day, so he remains in that position, as they don't allow him to fight directly because they say it's too dangerous. But at the same time, everyone around him always says how great and powerful he will become when he grows up. Well, he doesn't think it's a worthwhile destiny.

Being a hero seems less appealing to him each day, mainly because he's sure the world doesn't need him, his family doesn't need him...

Okay, there's Valeria too, but he hopes she lives a normal life. He fears his little sister will end up badly or going down that path just because he's afraid she'll become a mini Doctor Doom due to the influence he has on her upbringing.

But Franklin's biggest concern isn't him with his powers, but him without them. Who is he if he's not a super-powered mini-god? Nothing. He doesn't feel relevant because of it. His mother always lied to him about it, saying he's free to do whatever he wants and is very important. His uncles and father have always been very supportive, but he thinks that's just family being good people,

which he highly doubts is true. He's always wanted to imagine what it would be like not to have powers, to be able to live like the normal children he sees around him. Seriously, when he was a kid, powers were cool, but now it's a curse. Everyone he knows, all his choices, all his fears, are intertwined with his powers,

and he hates it. He wishes he could be like everyone else, why did he have to be born so flawed, why was he born with this defect?

The powers only get in the way, and now he feels less like himself every day that passes, just some kind of entity, something like that. He doesn't want to have the powers anymore, but he wonders if he gives them up, will anyone in this world still be with him? What will he do with his life after that? Will he even have a life? Everything for him depends on the powers. He is nothing without them, and even with them, he is nobody.

His father tried to convince him otherwise,
Uncle Ben,
Uncle Johnny,
his mother,
Uncle Peter,

but he's tired of it. He knows it's all talk. He prefers not to even ask Valeria. He knows he's nothing without the powers, and she must know it too. They wonder, if he's nothing even with the powers, what good are they?

Notes:

E é uma ideia da AU dar algo ao personagem do Franklin porque sério, que garoto chato, ele não tem seu próprio arco ou desenvolvimento, então eu o fiz.
