Chapter One: First Time?
_______________________________________________________________________________________
“Ma! Mama! Mum! Mummy! Moo Moo! Motherly figure of mine! Sam’s primary guardian!” Sam's mother smiles while looking at the newspaper before giving out a sigh. "What, what is it now, Sam?" A few seconds of silence lies between the two before Sam finally says, "Hi," then he runs off giggling. "Three more days! Just three! Three and I can finally join the guild - well, try to - BUT THREE!!" Sam runs off into his ordinary looking room whispering to himself. He always wanted to join the guild ya'know, well, maybe you don't know - but that's alright! His father was in it and he wanted for Sam to join. "Got my.. uh.. my... I think I do." Sam continues looking around the room, feeling as if he’s missing something. "Who's the guild master? Wigglytuff, right?" Sam rummages around the pile of newspapers sitting on his desk until he finds a paper about the guild. He mumbles to himself while he looks for whoever the guild master is. “Famous guild… Treasure town….. Guild master Wiggytuff - I was right!” He looks around his room one final time. “I guess I’m ready, pretty early if you ask me.” Before he grabs all his stuff and leaves his room, he looks at himself in the mirror next to his door. He sees a Grovyle in a pastel orange polo shirt with white and blue striped long sleeves, some sort of star-like necklace, and baggy navy-blue denims looking back at him. Sam closely examines this Grovyle. “GAHH! My shoes!” Sam grabs his favorite pair of white-black converse, wears them, and ties up the laces. Don’t worry, he’s also wearing black knee-length socks. He then walks back up to the mirror and examines himself again. He can’t help but smile at himself wearing his favorite outfit. ‘I am now, officially, ready.’ He thinks to himself. He skips out of his room and over to the living room, where his mum is at. “Okay, Mum, I’m ready now.” He says. “Finally, I've been waiting for like a week. How does it take you so long to prepare?” “I just like to make sure I have everything,” “Nothin’ wrong with that…” Sam mumbled. Sam’s mum scoffs and replies, “Well, now that you’re ready, here.” She pulls out 2500 Poke out of her bag - that was sitting next to her. Sam gladfully takes the Poke and stuffs it inside his bag, not really paying attention to the amount. “Thanks!” “You’re welcome.” Sam steps closer to his mum and he gives her a hug. “Careful out there. Kay’?” “Kay’!” They let go of each other, and Sam walks out of the door, tripping on the porch's stairs. He walks farther down the lawn and looks back at his home for one final time before walking away.

Treasure Town
6:24 PM
Sam walks up to the outskirts of Treasure Town. The incandescent lights and night sky welcome Sam as he walks into town. “Pretty lights~” He says in awe, staring at the warm and bright lights illuminating the town’s shops. He’s been here before to prepare for joining the guild and now he can finally get that sweet explorer’s 25% discount at the Kecleon market. That’s only if he can join the guild. Since most of the guild members live there they might not have any space for him. He doesn’t seem to mind though. He continues to walk through Treasure Town, taking in the light’s beauty of course, until he reaches a flight of stairs. “This is it. Just go up those stairs and I can go in! Pretty straightforward.” He says to himself. He traverses up the stairs until he makes it halfway. He looks up and groans. There are way too many stairs than Sam had expected, he continues climbing even though his knees are yelling at him to stop. After all the excruciating pain the stairs gave him, he finally made it to the top. He stood still, looking ahead at the guild. As for his knees were killing him. The guild was shaped as the top half of a Wigglytuff's head. It looked rather small to have housing for the members. Either way, the guild's look kinda freaked Sam out. "God, that sure is ugly. Well, not really but. I.. It's ugly!" He said to himself. Sam finally decided to start walking over to the guild's entrance. The light of the torches around the guild were fascinating to Sam. The lights that would catch Sam's attention were always in warm tones, especially incandescent, oh how he loved those. He can, and will, spend hours just staring at incandescent lights. However, he told himself to not get distracted. He was just now, maybe a feet or two, away from the guild. He had never been so freaked out by this place. Maybe it could have been the fact that it was night in Autumn, and that he had never seen this place at night. He continued walking, making sure not to trip on any pebbles that were in his way. His footsteps and the crunch of the pebbles underneath his shoes echoed around him. He made it to a grate that was placed on top of the ground. Sam was confused at first but he ignored it. "I swear everyone here is weird.." Sam steps on the grate and tries to continue walking but a voice stops him. "WHAT ARE YOU" This catches Sam off guard as he's still mid step. "I-uh-uh-im-im-a-grovyle!" He stammered. "WHY ARE YOU HERE" "I -uh- want to join the guild." Sam replies. 'God, you don't have to be so fuckin' loud' He thinks to himself while he stands there in silence, looking down at the grate. It's too dark to see anything down there.

The Guild
6:32 PM
Sam climbs down a ladder to get into the guild. 'I guess this is how they fit everyone in here.' He thought. He Looks around for quick second before a Chatot hops over to him, wearing a plain yellow t-shirt with a small white sixteenth note in the middle of the shirt. "So, you.. wanna join the guild?" The Chatot asks Sam. "Yeah." "Okay, follow me then!" "Also by the way, I'm the guild master's assistant and you can call me Chatot If you want." Chatot leads Sam down another ladder where they then turned left and stopped at a dore.

I'm so funny! Right? RIGHT!? - Tree
Chatot knocked on the door with their, right, wing and cleared their throat. "Guild master! May I come in?" Chatot called out. ... ... Chatot never got a reply. "Well, I'm coming in!" Chatot called out again, this time they opened the door and walked in. Sam followed Chatot into the room to find a Wigglytuff standing over them, unresponsive. The Wigglytuff wore a pink-white striped wool sweater and baggy pink poka-dot pajamas. "hmm. He's probably asleep." GUILD MASTER Chatot yelled, his voice cracking mid yell. WUUAHH! "Uh. Oh! Hi Chatot! Hi friend!" "Hi guild master. I have a fellow mon' here wanting to join the guild." Said Chatot. "Oouuu. A new friend!! Yay! Let’s start the registration !” "So, what's your name?" Wigglytuff asks Sam. "Uh- Sam." "Hi Sam! Do you have another friend or are you alone?" "Im alone." Wigglytuff slightly frowns. "That's okay. But that doesn't mean you don't need a team name~ What if you find a friend?" "So, what will your team name be?" 'Shit... I didn't think I’d need that.. Great, uhh.. Name..' Sam thought. He stood there staring at the ground until he finally perched up. "Oh! uh-uh-uh T-TeamColorz.Witha'Z' There were a few seconds of silence before Wigglytuff said, “Great! I’ll register you as Team Colorz - with a ‘Z’.” Registering..Registering…Registering.. YOOM TAH!! The sudden yell shocks Sam. “Congrats! You are now officially in the guild!” Wigglytuff happily declared. ‘I’m not lying when I say these people are weird. They’re just acting like this is normal..’ Sam scanned the room since he wasn’t really paying a lot of attention the whole time. “Now you can’t go around this~” Guild master Wigglytuff hands Sam an Explorer Kit. “That little box has a tressure bag, wonder map, and an official explorer badge!” “Thanks!” “You’re welcome! Also, remember, you’re an apprentice. So, you’re only in training. Make sure to do your best!” Wigglytuff says to Sam. "Well, I'll go ahead and give him a tour." Chatot declared. "Oh yeah! Hope you find this place nice, bye friend!" Wigglytuff quickly replied. Chatot leads Sam out the door and over to the middle of the room, which is in front of the guild master's room "This here is the spot for morning cheers.” "You must come here every morning." Chatot warns Sam. Chatot leads Sam over to a hall at their left. They both continue down the hall until Chatot reaches a room. “This here is your room.” Chatot tells Sam. Sam walks in and examines the room. “Cool, it even has a window.” He looks out the window and sees the body of water at the nearby beach. “Well, I’ve shown you all for now. You’ll be living here from now on. I expect a lot from you.” Chatot says. “Kay’. I already like it here.” Sam says as Chatot hops away.

Sam’s Room
8:46 PM
Sam places his bag down next to his straw bed, and sighs. He then lets himself fall onto the bed, his back facing the ground – which was not a very good idea. Pain shot up from his lower body and all over his back. All Sam could do was curl into a ball and groan in pain. “GOD.. AUGH.. Yeah so maybe don’t do that!?” He scolds himself. Sam lays in bed, his back numb. ‘Maybe I should sleep now. It’s like what? 7 – 8 o-clock? Either way, im tired as fuck.’ Sam’s pain resides and he slowly drifts off to sleep.

6:43AM
GET UP ROOKIE, YOU’LL BE LATE TO OUR MORNING BRIEFING!! A deafening voice jolted Sam awake. YOU REALLY DON’T WANNA BE LATE!! Sam was grunting and clutcihng his head as the voice left a horrendous amount of pain. The voice finally stopped and walked away. Sam layed in bed, dizzy from all the noise. “God fucking dammit… aguh… I’m gonna become deaf man..” He mumbles to himself. Sam slowly gets up out of his bed, making sure to grab his bag. ‘Who was that voice? The only pokemon I know that could be that loud is a Loudred.. Either way, that shit hurt..’ _______________________________________________________________________
The Guild
Sam walked out of his room and over to where morning cheers took place, which was in the middle of the lowest floor. He guesses and walks over to the crowd. As he was examining the crowd he saw a loudred. ‘Aha! Found em’ I knew it was a loudred!’ YOU’RE LATE ROOKIE!! The loudred yelled, this time not as loud as before but his voice still gave Sam some pain. “Oh hush Loudred! You are WAY too loud!” Chatot scolded the loud creature, only to get a scoff as a response. “Okay, everyone’s here.” Chatot mumbled. He turned towards the Guild Master’s room. “Guild master! Everyone’s here!” The Guild Master shortly walks out of their room. “Thanks Guild Master. Please, address the guild,” Chatot politely says. Zzzz….zzzzzz…snif...zzzz… The Wigglytuff seemed to be wide awake but was somehow fast alseep. ‘Wha-huh? How’s.. How does that work!’ Sam yelled in his mind. He could hear the other guild members mumbling but he couldn’t make things out. “T-Thank you, sir for… err.. your wonderful words of wisdom!” Chatot awkwardly said. “Well, let’s not forget our morning cheers! All together now!” Chatot turned towards the crowd to declare. The entire crowd, except for Sam started to shout. A-ONE! A-TWO! A-ONE-TWO-THREE! ONE, NEVER SHIRK WORK! TWO, RUN AWAY AND PAY! THREE, SMILES GO FOR MILES! “Okay everyone, get to work!” Chatot said. The crowd scattered about, some going up the ladder, some going into a weirdly placed hole. After the crowd was gone only Sam and a charmeleon were left, both standing there confused. The charmeleon wore an orange supreme cap, a yellow button-up shirt featuring small-green duplicated graphics of turtles scattered around the shirt, light beige cargo shorts, black shin length socks, and turquoise-white Vans.

“You two. Follow me.” Chatot commanded, using both wings to point at the two. Sam and the Charmeleon followed Chatot as he hopped up the ladder and over to a bulitin board on the left side of the second floor. “This here is where you can find job postings. But since ya’ll are just beginners,” Chatot grabs two job postings off of the board and hands it to the beginners. “I’ll assign ya’ll those job postings.” Chatot confidently declares. The charmeleon quickly reads the job posting he was handed, Sam just now noticing how the Charmeleon rocked back and forth in place. “Now be extremely careful as these jobs require for you to enter mystery dungeons. If you end up fainting inside these mystery dungeons you will lose half of your money and possibly more than half of your items.” “Don’t mystery dungeons change layout every time you enter?” The Charmeleon interupts. Chatot glares at them. “Charter, I would’ve answered that if you’d let me finish talking.” Chatot said sternly. “Sorry..” Charter apologized. Chatot looks at Sam. “As Charter said, mystery dungeons do change layout every time you enter. The reason is unknown.” Chatot stood there in silence for a moment. “I believe that is all I have to say, you are dismissed.” Chatot said to Sam and charter. “kay’!” They both said in unison. Sam takes this as a chance to read his job’s description. “I lost a Luminous Orb at Drenched Bluff. I belive it’s at B3F but it’s too dangerous for me to be there. Please find it!- Austin(Starly)” ‘Really, I have to find an item that someone lost!? I know I’m a beginner but damn, I could’ve at least gotten something a little better.’ Sam complained in his head. Sam took the job either way and climbed the ladder leading up to the surface. Once Sam got up the ladder he noticed Charter skipping out of the guild. Not even a second later, Charter slips and face plants onto the dirt path. Sam can’t help but grin at the sight of this. Maybe that’s karma for cutting Chatot off? Sam ignored Charter and walked past him to climb down the stairs but before he could, Charter jumped up and called for Sam. “Hey! You’re new here too but I’ve never seen ya’. When did you get here?” Sam turned around and faced Charter.

“Uhh- I got here like.. at sunset? Why?” “I dunno. I just wanted to know since I got here at like 9 or 10.” “Oh, that’s cool I guess.” “What’s ya' name?” “Sam.” “Im Charter, but you probably already know that.” Charter looked around. “Well, bye!” Charter ran past Sam and down the stairs. Sam wanted to follow but Charter was already halfway down the steps.

Treasure Town
7:12 AM
Sam pulled out his wonder map out of his bag. ‘I thought I knew where Drenched Bluff was, but I guess I don’t.’ Sam thought. Places on the map were blank except for Treasure Town and Drenched Bluff. This was strange to him but he brushed it off and looked around. He noticed a hole near a sign. ‘That is like the third hole I’ve seen. I haven’t even been here for an entire day.’ ‘What do these people have with holes?’ Sam walks over to the sign near the hole and reads it. “Spinda’s Cafe is currently under construction” ‘Cool, a cafe.' Sam looked around one last time. 'Nothing' new I guess..' Sam then walked out of Treasure Town.

Drenched Bluff
7:34 AM
Sam reached the outskirts of Drenched Bluff. It felt rather cold, a little too cold. The ground got wetter with each step. Sam however, carried on and entered Drenched Bluff.
B1F
Upon entering, the bluff felt off. The bluff was empty, with only the sound of water droplets splashing into puddles. The ground was all wet, even the semi-dry spots were wet and Sam had no way to know where he was. From what he knew, this is pretty big."Uhh.. three options... down, left, and up.." Sam thought about which way to go but decided to use the iconic, "Iniminiminymocatchatigerbyit'stoeifithollersletgoiniminiminymo."DOWN!! Sam walks out of the room he was in and into a narrow passageway. Not even shortly after, he was met with more options. "Wait. If I went down, then that means... thatIgoright!" Sam quickly turns right before being met with a gigantic puddle. "I guess I don't go right.. Well.. Nah, I don't wanna get my shoes dirty." He looks down at his shoes that are already covered in mud. 'Fuck..' "Well, I don't wanna get them even dirtier." He turns around and skips straight ahead. "I don't even know Charter but I already like him. He's-uhh.... I don't know but I like him!" Sam loses his balance and desperately tries to get back on course but his foot slipped on the muddy ground and landed onto his side. He lays on the mud, his right eye twitching and his body stiff. "Ha! That's...nice! That's awesome. How I love getting mud on me! God dammit..” Sam slowly pushes himself up, every movement sent a shiver down his spine. His shivers and the cold bluff do not mix well at all. Although pretty disgusting for Sam, the mud seemed to give him warmth but only on his right side. He brushed off as much of the mud as he could off of his arm, leg, and his bag that protected most of his torso from the mud. He wasn’t able to get all of the mud off of him as the mud left stains and was absorbed by his clothes. He kept on trying to get the mud off even though he knew it couldn’t get off; the feeling of mud rubbing against his skin irritated him. After a lot of tugging and brushing, he finally accepted the mud and allowed it to stay. Sam walked straight ahead but started to hear faint buzzing. ‘Buzz? Heh. Buzz-Buzz! Wait. That means there's a Pokemon here. Aww man!’ He walks a little slower, making sure not to make too much of a sound with his footsteps. The buzzing got louder and louder as Sam progressed. He reached a corner where the buzz’s volume was highest. ‘Come here buzz-buzz!’ The Pokemon, who was an Anorith , turned the corner and met Sam with a scratch. “Oww! That kinda hurts!” Sam tried to slam onto the Pokemon but completely missed and fell onto the ground, landing on his back. He was able to grab a hold of the Anorith’s wings and bring it down with him. Sam was a little too close to the Anorith which gave it a chance to bite onto Sam’s left arm. “AUGH! LET GO!” Sam used his free arm to hit Anorith with a leaf blade. The blow left Anorith unconscious, it’s body going limp. The now fainted Anorith was stuck to Sam, forcing him to manually yank Anorith off of his arm. Each movement his arm made caused him to jerk forward as his arm to tesne up. ‘Why did you have to bite me so hard? WHY!?’ He was now finally able to break free of the Anorith’s grasp. Sam layed the Anorith on the ground and continued walking down the corner. ‘not gonna lie.. that hurts.. Owie.’ Sam rubs his arm where Anorith bit him. “Good thing I’m wearing long sleeves.” Sam sighs in relief as he feels around his arm. He suddenly stops. “Am I bleeding?” He pulls up his sleeve to reveal a bite mark with tiny drops of blood slowly flowing out of it. “Eh. It’s not that bad. I’ll be fine!” Sam wipes some blood off of the wound and pulls his sleeve back down. He returns his focus over to passageway he was in. After walking for a while, Sam made it into second room. This room also seemed empty except for an, “Apple!! Yippe!!” Sam ran over to the apple and inspected it. It seemed clean, way too clean for it too have been sitting there this whole time. Either way, Sam shoved it in his bag and continued walking over to a room connected to the one he was in. The room was pretty big, with about 20 poke in a corner and a way down to B2F in the middle of the room. Sam obviously ran over to the poke before going down to B2F. Why wouldn’t he?
B2F
Upon arival, Sam could hear Charter’s faint voice. “Ay twin. Life is like a case of stairs. The higher you go, the harder it gets~” Sam ignores Charter and walks around the room. This room only gave him one option; go left. walks out the room and into another narrow passageway but it’s much shorter this time. It doesn’t take long for Sam to find Charter rocking from side to side, with his back turned.“ So you just gonna bring me a birthday gift on my birthday to my birthday party on my birthday with a birthday-“ Charter stiffens and gulps loudly. “He’s.. right behind me… Isn’t he?’ Charter turns around with a face of embarrassment. “Hey Sam!.. What’s up?” Charter awkwardly smiles at Sam while they both stare at each other in silence. “Look, I’ll give you this Apel if you don’t tell anyone about this.”

Apel… mmm.. Yummy… num num num! - Tree
Charter walks up to Sam while pulling out an big apple out of his bag. “Uh. Sure.” Sam takes the apple and slowly walks past Charter. He puts the apple in his bag, sensing Charter staring at him. WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT “I kinda need some help.” Sam turns around, “For what?” “I need to find a green gummi but I can’t find it and I can’t really.. fight water types..” “But, don’t you have to find it?” “Yeah! - I looked everywhere - even the walls – but I still can’t find it! – I walked around the entire floor 2 times!” Sam looks away from Charter. “Eh. I guess I’ll help. But you owe me-” “I’ll give ya’ like.. half of my profit!” “oh-uh-ye-“ Sam turns his attention to Charter. “Deal.” The two walk down the passageway, Sam following behind Charter. “Does water hurt you? Like, regular water. Not a water type attack. Like just regular drinkable water.” “Nah, not really. It’ll sting but it won’t hurt me.” “What if you were to be in a body of water?” “Depends. Like – how deep is the water – can I swim and not drown – am I at the verge of fainting? But most of the time, I live.” “Cool.” Charter pulls out an apple and starts to eat it but in the middle of it he points at a rock, the apple still in his hand. “That’s a cool ass rock!” The ‘cool’ rock was a regular rock just bigger in size and shiny. “It’s a regular rock..” “I know!” Charter giggles while he continues to munch on his apple. The two walk into a room – probably the biggest Sam has seen in the bluff. A shellos appears next to Sam, shooting out a water gun right at Charter’s face. Charter doesn’t notice until the attack comes into contact. He covered his face and stumbled backwards. Sam springs into action, hitting the shellos with a leaf blade and rendering it unconscious. Sam turns around towards Charter. “You okay?” “Yeah…I'm fine.. Fuck…” Charter leaned on a wall as he uncovered his face, slightly wincing. He continued to eat his apple. “Don’t judge me.” He glared at Sam. “I tend to stress eat. “ He mumbles. Sam throws his hands up. “I-I don’t blame you. I kinda do the same!” “Good.” Charter walks closer to Sam and pulls out another apple. “Apple?” “You already gave me one.” “Yeah – but this one, you eat.” Sam can’t help but smile as he takes the apple. “Fine.” Sam scans the room until he finds something green laying in a most-northern right corner. He walks over to it as he takes a bite out of his apple. He could see the object much clearer the closer he got. The object looked like a small bean that was colored green. “I think I found it!” Charter runs over to Sam. “I’ve looked there a shit ton of times how could yo- oh..” Charter looked at the small bean on the ground and Sam who was grinning. “You did..” Charter picked up the gummi and slowly started to back up. “I don’t like you… How were you able to find something I couldn’t?... Uncool man.. Uncool…” Charter pulled out an orb and dropped it onto the floor. The orb bounced and rolled over to a small rock nearby. Charter scurried over to grab the orb, smashing it on the ground with all his might. The orb’s fragments began to shine as magical power surrounded Charter while he turned to face Sam. “You didn’t see that – by the way.” Charter took one last bite of his apple, tossed the stem over his head, and disappeared . ‘How did he- Ohhh! An escape orb!’ Sam started walking to the northernmost exit of the room. ‘Guess I’ll go find a way up now. I think that I should go North.’
B3F
Sam took the final bite out of his apple and tossed it onto the ground. ‘Now I need a Luminous Orb. If I were a Luminous orb, where would I be?’ Sam walked around the room he was in. A Luminous Orb was like any regular orb; sometimes it would shine. Sam reaches a rock where he could see a shiny object slightly poking out. ‘Orb?’ Sam grabbed the object and found that it, indeed, was a Luminous Orb. ‘Aha! That was really easy.’ Sam switches out the orb in his bag for an escape orb that was lying about in his bag. ‘ As much as I would want to continue, I prefer warmth much more than this place. It’s chilly in here.’ He smashes the orb on the ground like he saw Charter do. The fragments of the orb shined as he felt a force come into contact with his body. He began to feel light and his vision slowly blurred before going black.

The Guild
6:48 PM
Sam meets up with a Starly who claims to be Austin. “Thanks! You don’t know how much danger I could have gone through if I were to try to get this. Here, have 2000 Poke.” The Starly handed the poke over to Sam who quickly pocketed the money. “No problem! It was actually fun to look for it.” “That’s nice! Anyway, it was nice meeting you!” Austin hopped up the ladder leading to the surface. Chatot suddenly cleared his throat and flew over to Sam. “I probably didn’t tell you this but the guild gets a share of all profits you get from job postings.” “Wait what!?” “Yeah. Shocker right?” Chatot extends a wing to Sam. “Fine..’ Sam pulls out the poke and hands some to Chatot. “You got like what? 2000 Poke?” “Yeah. Why?” Chatot chuckles. “you’re gonna have to give me more than that.” “Kay.” Sam gives Chatot half of the poke. “That’s like.. 1000. Im gonna need 800 more” “800!? Why do ya’ll need so much!?” “I don’t make the rules. Hand over the Poke.” Sam hands Chatot 800 more Poke leaving him with only 200 Poke. “Thank you!” Chatot clutches the Poke and hops away. ‘Man.. That ain’t fair. Whatever though, I have mum’s 2500 Poke. I have plenty of Poke!’ Sam climbs down the rightmost latter to go to his room but while on the way Charter stops him. “I feel like I know you the most – which is more than likely true - but! I wanted to give you this back.” Charter hands Sam a colorful bead bracelet. “When did you get this from me?” “I really don’t remember. I just now saw it on my wrist and realized it was yours.” Sam looks at Charter straight in the eyes. “How did you not notice this on your wrist..?” Charter shrugs and then smiles. “I’m built different.” “Anyways, it was nice talking to ya’!” Charter snaps then points at Sam while he backs away from him. Charter kept pointing until Sam was out of his view. Sam looked around before deciding to walk over to the 'mess hall' to eat.

Sam’s room
7:53PM
Sam sets down his bag next to his bed and yawns. “It’s already night.. I haven’t even done like half of the things I wanted to do.” He looks out of the window and into the night sky. The night was colored in a bluish tone and complemented the large body of water around it. Sadly, there were no stars to be seen as clouds covered the sky. Sam layed on his bed and drifted off to sleep.
