Bathtime At The Mansion

Finding Logan trying to get himself out of the lake was beyond terrifying for Wade, he thought his heart had stopped several times. As he hauled Logan out of the lake, soaked to the bone and dripping lake water and mud, looking beyond miserable. His claws were out, his knuckles looked swollen, his eyes were red rimmed despite his healing factor. His cute little snot trembling as his lips wobbled, soft whimpers and whines leaving him.

Wade ended up carrying Logan into the mansion after telling Laura to go back to her regular day. She looked distraught but didn’t fight with Wade when he gave her a serious look, she nodded her head and headed off to find Hank. Wade carried Logan to their room, hoping his mate would forgive him for having to bathe him but it’d be the only way to get him clean and warmed up.

Logan screamed and cried as Wade tried to gently wash the mud off of him. Logan completely forgot how to use his hands or feet as he keeps scrambling around on the slippery bathtub floor. Howling when he's stable enough then whining when Wade goes to try and scrub more dirt from his thick fur.

“I'm going to fucking kill him!” Wade murmured angrily as he stopped to coo at Logan’s terrified face, “You are doing good Peanut.” Wade blows him a kiss, watching as Logan whimpers and jets out his bottom lip. “Snookums, I need to get you clean. When you aren't so puppy space, you'll be upset if I don't.”

Logan continues to make different noises of distress as Wade washes him in the tub. When Wade finally gets Logan fully cleaned up, does Wade allow Logan out of the bathtub, regretting it as soon as Logan is shaking free of as much water as possible. Logan stands there on all fours, shivering and shaking as he trembles from leftover fear of being in the body of water without Wade inside of it with him. This bathtub was too small for two large muscular men to have fit comfortably inside while theirs was much larger to accommodate them.

Laura shows up shortly after Wade is finished dressing Logan. Logan hasn’t stopped being in his more feral state, exhausted from everything, Logan works on building a nest with Laura. Making their bed even more comfier than it had previously been and Wade had considered it rather comfortable to begin with. While his Wolverines were occupied, Wade slipped into the bathroom to get himself cleaned up.

Later, when Logan is asleep and tucked in with Laura. Wade storms to Hank’s office, figuring the mutant had to be there since he wasn’t in his labs when Wade stopped by there earlier. When Wade sees the light underneath the door, he doesn’t even bother to knock, just barging in and stopping in his tracks as he sees Ororo and Hank together.

Hank is sitting in his office chair while Ororo is perched on top of his desk, back facing the door and a growing purple flush appearing on Hank’s mortified face. Wade’s anger cracks at seeing that he was interrupting something possibly inappropriate, “Oh, am I interrupting something?” Wade says in a sing-songy voice, staring gleefully.

Ororo got up gracefully, gliding out of the room without another word. Leaving Wade to stare after her then turn to look at Hank, “You dirty old man!” Wade said happily, “So how long have you two—”

“Mr. Wilson, is there a reason for his unannounced visit?” Hank asks, wanting to steer the conversation away from what Ororo had been doing there.

Wade’s face darkened, “Yeah, so you need to do something about Scotty boy.” At Hank’s raised eyebrow, Wade sighs, “You know how he’s been lately. It has gotten worse since we last spoke,” Hank nods as he listens to Wade, “This time, Scott purposely lured Logan into the lake.”

Hank paused and raised an eyebrow at Wade, everyone knew at the mansion, Logan’s infamous fear of water. “What do you mean?” He sat up straighter, wanting to hear more about what happened.

“Logan was in his puppy space and had been playing and wrestling around with Laura and a few of the other kids. When I had gotten a call and left Laura in charge of Logan and when I came back, she couldn't find him. By the time we found him, he was covered in mud and howling in distress.” Wade’s face was one of anger as he stared into Hank’s blue eyes, needing him to understand how serious he was being.

“Are you sure it was Scott?” Hank asked, already typing away on his keyboard.

“Laura says Scott agreed to watch Logan while she ran inside to get them something to drink. She was gone for maybe a minute at most when he disappeared and when I got done with my call from the TVA.” Wade continued to keep his eyes on Hank.

Hank met Wade’s angry stare, “I'll get to the bottom of this, Mr. Wilson.” Hank hopes his tone is reassuring enough for Wade while he investigates it. Hank doesn’t need the merc to go rogue, especially not since Scott doesn’t have a healing factor like Logan and Wade does. “You better because if not, I’ll handle things,” Wade threatens as he leaves Hank’s office, going back to his Wolverines in their rarely used room.

Hank schedules a meeting with Scott, there was enough evidence to have a chat and see what happened between them. Scott had free time the next day and stopped by Hank’s office, “What’s this about?” Scott asks as he goes into Hank’s office, “Please have a seat Mr. Summers,” Hank says neutrally to Scott.

Scott audibly gulped as he took a seat, fearing that he was in deeper trouble than he knew about. Hank gathered up some papers for this, “What happened yesterday between you and Logan?” Hank asks outright, hoping that Scott would explain how or why he lured Logan into the lake.

“What do you mean?” Scott asks, facial expression twisted into one of confusion, “I was with Jean all day yesterday. We had a date-day outside of the mansion,” Scott says, “She can verify it and we also have pictures and receipts from our outing.” Hank slowly nods, looking more and more concerned, “When did you leave for the day?” Hank asks, trying to piece when everything could have happened.

“We left after breakfast, remember?” Scott asks, “We were all together and having breakfast when Ororo had asked what everyone had planned for the day. I told everyone, I was taking Jeannie out for the day since we both needed a break from the mansion.” Hank nods, remembering that and feeling unsure who might have been masquerading as Scott to lure Logan into the lake then as Laura, Logan, or Hank should have picked up on the unknown intruder.

Hank silently swears he can feel some of his hair follicles dying and turning grey from all this stress of having Logan and Wade join the X-Men.
