Chapter Text

It opened to a sign for a camp as two men walked on camera.
"Welcome to Disventure Camp! The place where anything can happen, even if it's most likely not good! We are miles from civilization, surrounded by unexplored forest... where fourteen random people with different personalities will compete for the chance to win 1 million dollars!" A tanned man with brown hair grinned, wearing an orange shirt and shorts with sneakers, with smile lines under his eyes.
"This won't be a walk in the park however. We are talking about a forest with wild animals, torrential rains and extreme heat waves. Let's hope that the participants are prepared for the worst, because that’s exactly what awaits them." A white skinned, frankly ugly man said. His shotty hairstyle was unkempt and he looked like shit. Wearing the same shirt but black jeans instead of shorts with sneakers.
"Admittedly it’s no paradise… But don't worry, our competitors are in good hands. I'm Trevor McGregor, and this is my hosting partner, Derek Johnson!" Trevor said.
"And we'll do our best to make sure that all of our competitors have the worst experience possible." Derek smirked at the camera.
“What Derek’s trying to say is... uh..... on this show, nothing is easy! Every other day our campers will have to overcome challenges and eliminations where they will face the judgment of their teammates." Trevor continued.
"And this is just the beginning! So if you're ready to see a bunch of idiotic strangers fight for a million dollars... Or just enjoy watching others suffer...Don't miss… Disventure Camp!" Derek finished.
The intro for the season started. A camera coming out of a tree before it cuts to the front gate. Showing Trevor and Derek grinning for the camera. Going through the bus behind them showed the bus driver, Jensen before it moved on.
It started at one camp, Tom doing an army roll as he looked around before Karol suddenly started yelling at him, much to his annoyance.
It moved on to Ally playing a game while sitting on a rock, cheering as she won, Hunter walking up to talk to her, getting a shy smile as Hunter grinned.
Behind them was Tess, who was drawing the two, blankly watching, but a small smile on her lips.
It moved over to Alec reading a book, glancing at Ellie drawing something herself as Gabby came up to hug Ellie, making her smile at Gabby.
It cut to the dock where Kai and Oliver were seemingly meditating. Before Oliver's snoring was heard, making Kai open an eye before both opened.
He reacted this way to seeing Miriam and Dan in a canoe, where she proceeded to slam an oar right to his face, knowing him into the water as she smirked at this.
It lastly cut to Maggy and Drew looking down a cliff, Maggy nervous before smiling as Drew wrote "you got this" on his notepad.
It showed the teal team walking. Kai praying, Hunter and Ally talking. Miriam scowling, Karol glaring at her, Drew grinning at Dan who smiled back.
Then purple team, Alec boredly walking. Gabby grinning at Ellie who smiled back. Maggie nervously walking with Oliver grinning beside her. Tom briefly behind them and Tess in the back, showing no emotion.
As it cut to the campfire, Gabby and Ellie lean in to kiss when Tom pops up between them, looking quietly around, before sheepishly smiling at Gabby's laugh and Ellie's glare as the camera zoomed out to show Trevor and Derek at the voting urn, grinning as Jensen drags something behind him, before it cuts to the title card.
Disventure Camp.
It opened to a whitish blue bus moving down the road, a big, muscled Russian looking man was quietly driving the bus, which had fourteen players sitting in different seats.
A pale man, wearing a grey shirt with a purple skull. A lavender jacket with grey lines, grey gloves. Black pants and grey boots on. Hunter Page.
Glancing around, his eyes landed on a girl quietly writing in a book. Her long black hair looked unkempt. She had a white shirt that was long sleeved on one side, black shorts. A black top. A dark orange hoodie wrapped around her waist, blacks and orange leggings and blue and orange boots. Tess Morgan
He frowned as she looked lonely. Awkwardly moving over to her seat, as she looked over at him. Her gaze was focused but empty as she raised a brow at him, slightly confused at him sitting by her now after an hour of driving.
"Can I help you?" Tess raised a brow at Hunter who looked a little lost at the moment.
"Well.... uh...... you looked lonely." Hunter said hoping to get a reaction from her, but all he got was a blank gaze staring a hole into him.
"It's what I wanted. To be alone. And unbothered." Tess said.
"Oh...... sorry." Hunter said.
"It's whatever. No one really ever notices me anyway." Tess mumbled as she went back to scribbling.
"Hey. I did." Hunter said gently, so she was slightly sensitive. Cool.
Sighing, Tess closed her book as she looked at him.
"You don't even know anything about me." She said as Hunter happily pulled out a card.
"Good thing I have a question card!" He said.
"A what?" Tess blankly asked as Hunter showed her one.
"It builds conversation for people. We each answer the question and talk about it." Hunter said.
"Must I?" She asked.
"It could be fun." Hunter tried.
"If I do this will you leave me alone?" Tess asked.
"Totally!" Hunter grinned before processing her words. "Wait, hold on." He said before Tess put a hand up.
"Just read the card." She said as Hunter glanced down. Losing his thoughts for a moment before speaking.
"Okay. What's your favorite movie?" Hunter asked sheepishly.
"Terrifier Two." Tess blankly said before looking back down at her book.
"Isn't uh.... that really violent?" Hunter asked.
"That's why I like it. The sadness and pain gives me a feeling." Tess said as she kept scribbling.
"Uh.... that's cool." Hunter nervously laughed.
"You don't have to lie." Tess said.
"I.... I'm not. Just haven't seen it." Hunter admitted.
"A lot hate it for that reason." Tess said. Still blank in her words as Hunter scratches his head."I need to get more shade. The light's in my eyes." Tess said as she climbed over Hunter, walking farther back.
"Uh.... good talk?" Hunter asked, looking confused. Before his eyes went wide.
"Wait! You didn't hear my movie pick!" He called out, but he figured she was too far away to hear.
In another seat was a dark skinned girl with long brown hair, a red hat that looked like cat ears was in her head. She had on an oversized red sweater that covered her hands completely. Blue pants that were calf length and black and white sneakers. Gabby Nowak. She was currently folding paper she had brought with her.
Besides her was an older black skinned woman, who was wearing a pink shirt, green pants, black jacket, black boots and pink fingerless gloves on, was scowling. She also had a red hat on her head, and short brown hair. Karol Jones.
"This is ridiculous! This actually doesn't work at all, and it's hot as hell! What kind of conditions were they exciting for us?! This treatment is more bullshit than anything I've experienced for a while! And I've had to deal with bullshit for years! Are you listening?" Karol snapped as Gabby innocently looked up.
"Of course I am! Those people are terrible for hurting that poor birdie. Who could be so cruel to break a wing like that for a slingshot!" Gabby said.
"I was talking about the bus. But thank you." Karol said.
"The bus is really messy and broken. I don't know how it works." Gabby nodded as she kept happily folding the paper.
"So you're an animal lover too?" Karol raised a brow.
"Of course! I have five birds, four spiders, six iguanas, and seven lizards." Gabby was listing each one as Karol's eyes went wide.
"You take care of all of them?" She asked.
"Of course! I love my family! I want to work at a pet shop.... of course I got banned for letting a snake loose." Gabby laughed.
"What?!" Karol asked.
"It was so cold, I gave it some warmth but the workers didn't like me doing that before I bought him." Gabby said. Her Polish accent is coming out more.
"You need to be careful with that. Some people hate that despite them not caring for the animals regardless." Karol nodded. The frown on her face had gone away as her and Gabby talked.
"Exactly! I hate anyone who hurts animals!" Gabby cackled.
Karol eyed her gently but ignored that as Gabby grinned.
"Yay it's almost done for you!' Gabby cheered as Karol looked over
"What is?" She asked as Gabby held up something made out of paper for her.
"I made you a paper kitty!" Gabby grinned as Karol stared at the little paper cat in Gabby's hand.... it didn't look that bad. "Isn't she pretty?"
"Yeah she is..... thank you." Karol said. Holding the cat in her hand.
Gabby grinned happily at seeing this as she looked out the window.
"I hope we can see some adorable animals when we get there!" Gabby cheered as Karol chuckled slightly.
"That would be nice." She said as they both looked out the window.
It was actually a little nice. It wasn't gonna stay that way. But fuck it. Just enjoy the moment while it is positive.
Up closer to the front sitting by herself was a girl sitting cross legged on her chair. She had long, brown hair, her bangs covering her forehead. She had thick glasses on and she also had on a tetris jacket, a blue shirt with pac-man on it. Blue pants. Green and pink sneakers and red socks with green M's on them. Allyson "Ally" Amber. She was clicking the buttons on her switch really fast, clearly in the zone with her game as she cheered slightly. Setting her game down as she looked around the bus for anyone else alone.
Across from her was a man. But what made him odd was the outfit. Normally that wouldn’t be odd, but almost everything was covered! He had on black boots. A bluish green hoodie. Similar looking pants. And even gloves! He had a mask covering his face, making only his eyes show and some of his hair. Thomas "Tom" Reed. He was writing something down on a notepad, squinting slightly at the driver, but stayed quiet as he kept writing Info down. The soft bags under his eyes were noticeable, but he kept up with whatever he was doing.
"Hey! What chaos are you up to?" Ally grinned as Tom jumped at how sudden she was right beside him as he hit his notebook.
"Oh you know.... personal stuff." Tom cheerfully chucked gently.
"Well it seems secretive. Like you're on a stealth mission like solid snake!" Ally grinned.
"Spy?! Ha! That's funny. I'm too clumsy to be one." He said.
"But you also give me Kakashi vibes." Ally smirked.
"Uh... who's that?" Tom chuckled nervously.
"The teacher from Naruto." Ally smiled.
"Ooh! The guy with the mask! Right!" Tom laughed happily.
"Both comparisons work and it's what I like about you most." Ally said missing how Tom had fidgety hands and kept side-eying the driver.
"S.... so you're a spy in this Metal Gear game?" Tom asked.
"Well it's more of a stealth game. So I wouldn't say spy. But you remind me of it a lot." Ally said.
"It's a condition. Not good with direct sunlight. So I uh..... need to always be covered." Tom said.
"Oh that sucks. But hey. You get to dress like that. It's badass!" Ally grinned.
"Really?" Tom asked, looking at Ally in surprise at hearing this.
"Of course! People love seeing mysterious guys like you dressed like that. People want to know you more the more they see this guy hiding stuff." Ally said.
"Haven't seen it yet." Tom scratched his head, laughing more, gently seeing the driver glance at him.
Once he looked away, Tom gently tapped his pocket, acting non suspicious but knew the driver was watching him.
"You just got to look out more. You could possibly find someone that would see it sooner than later." Ally smiled as Tom looked at her surprised.
"Thanks." Tom said
"No problem!" Ally grinned as she went back to playing her game.
A few seats back, was a 16ish year old boy who was looking around like Hunter. He hated a reddish orange sweater on. With blue jeans and matching sneakers.
He didn't say anything. Just looking around innocently. This was Drew LeClair. Trying to find someone that needed a friend, his eyes went wide as he looked a few rows back to see someone was sitting alone. So he got up, moving towards her.
He gripped his notebook tight as he got closer. It was the only way he could communicate.
As he sat down. The girl looked at him nervously.
The girl looked to be a farm girl. Since she was wearing boots and overalls. Her long ginger hair was braided into one ponytail as she nervously looked at Drew quietly.
She had a pink shirt on, under overalls. And she had on brown boots. She was a big girl. Possibly the tallest and biggest person with muscle, and despite this, Drew didn't do anything but stare and smile.
He just smiled at the girl, despite her glancing around, nervously not saying anything at him, the silence getting to her more. The shy girl was gently breathing nervously. Maggy Lewis.
"Uh..... hi?" Maggy said, but tapped her knee nervously at him not saying anything, just writing on his notepad.
As Maggy got more and more nervous and deemed about ready to blurt out something because he had said nothing, he suddenly showed his notebook page.
"Hi. Names Drew. Sorry for not saying anything verbally. I have selective mutism." Drew wrote and grinned as Maggy's eyes went wide.
"Oooh. That makes more sense..... sorry for almost freaking.... just super nervous." Maggy said as Drew held up a new piece of paper that said "it's cool!" as he grinned at her.
"So you uhh.... excited."
":)"
"That's go... good.... I'm not good at this kind of talking." She admitted. "Not many friends." She continued nervously as Drew wrote again.
"I'll be your friend. :)"
"You will! That would be awesome.... most are scared of me." Maggy admitted.
"I'm not scared of you." Drew wrote confusedly.
Suddenly as some talking picked up, Drew dropped his notebook, holding his ears as he closed his eyes in pain as Maggy looked confused.
"D.... Drew?! What’s wrong?" Maggy asked as he frantically looked for his notebook.
Maggy was quick to find it and handed it to him as he seemed to calm down a little at the sound, quitting a little as he was quick to write something down.
"Sorry..... loud noises get to me sometimes." He wrote as Maggy nodded.
"It's alright. My mom mentioned it to me before people could get it." Maggy said as Drew nodded with a soft smile.
"Thanks." He wrote. "Moat people don't get the selective mutism or the trouble with loud noises." Drew wrote as Maggy was looking over what he wrote, nodding with a soft shy smile at him.
"You're welcome." Maggy smiled back at him gently.
Up near the front were two people sitting together. One was a scrawny man, with slightly long brown hair. Something that was telling besides his big round glasses, was not just his purple hat or purple and white shoes. But his shirt. His shirt was purple and white striped, making him look more silly, despite his pants being khaki colored, ruining what made it funny slightly. He was boredly looking out the window, clearly bored out of his at nothing happening before he suddenly heard some snickering beside him. Glancing over, he saw who was sitting next to him and was laughing. Dan Carter
Sitting next to him was a man half his height. With an afro. He also had on thick glasses just like him. A mix of purple and red for his hoodie with tears in said hoodie, making it look messy.
He also had on black shorts and boots, but he was clearly amused at something. Oliver Bennett.
"What?" Dan scowled as Oliver laughed more.
"Where's Danno?!" Oliver joked as Dan rolled his eyes.
"Yeah. So funny. My sister had a riot over that nickname so laugh it up!" Dan said as Oliver gently shrugged, still finding it funny.
"Well I guess I can ask this. What are you doing here? I saw this other reality show called Race the place. And heard this was that but different and figured it would be fun." Dan said.
"Oh! Yeah I've heard of that show. Heard uh... mixed things about the host there. Christoff." Oliver grinned sheepishly.
"I've heard them too. It would be messy if he was here. But I heard it's an original idea. Do you know who the hosts are?" Dan asked.
"Kinda! Uh.... I did try out to race the place..... but was denied.... and the hosts gave me a shot so here I am." Oliver said.
"I did a taped one. Not sure why I was accepted."
"Your know it all personality." Oliver grinned, not realizing he said too much as Dan squinted.
"And why was everyone else picked?" He asked. Wanting to see what else he could get out of the man just blabbing all this information right now.
"Well Gabby is a wild card. More crazy. Miriam's just really grumpy. Teas is really antisocial. And Kai? He's this zeng guy and!" Oliver was laughing before Dan cut him off suddenly at hearing all of this.
"Hey, wait a second." Dan paused. Looking at Oliver. "How do you know a lot about us? I thought we were all strangers to each other." Dan squinted as Oliver jumped up nervously.
Clearly he wasn't ready for that specific question. Since the short man was suddenly sweating a crap ton.
"Oh wow! I better meet another teammate! Can't talk to one person for too long!" Oliver said before quickly leaving the row to one farther back as Dan wiped his glasses.
He missed the glare the bus driver gave him as he asked questions.
Back towards the end of the bus was a man quietly reading a book. He was dark skinned. Clean shaven, with his long brown hair tied into a Ponytail with a light blue hair tie. He had on brown pants and a white dress shirt. With a red sweater vest with some green onto the design. His eyes furrowed behind his square glasses as he heard some of the noises from farther up before glancing over at the guy sitting next to him, who was quietly meditating. Wishing it was that easy to do that. The man was Alec Celik.
Sitting next to him was a man with green hair. Tied into a ponytail. He had on a yellow, blue and red hoodie with a symbol on the pockets. Blue jeans. And sandals.
Despite some loud noises cutting through to them, he stayed meditating quietly, not moving an inch, even as Alec looked on in confusion at how he was able to do this. Since he seemed like he would easily slide off the seat if it suddenly stopped, but his center of balance was just perfect.
Kai Mitchel, the zen guy Oliver had mentioned. Who gently opened his eyes gently.
"Your emotions are clouded in pain and worry. It worries me knowing you're already having these feelings now." Kai said as Alec looked confused.
"What are you talking about?!" Alec snapped a little.
"Your aura. It's very clouded with thinking clearly. If I may ask what's troubling you." Kai said. Opening his eyes wildly.
"I don't have an issue. I'm here to just play the game. I don't want to get distracted with meaningless things." Alec said.
"The mind and soul are not mindless. If you ignore it. It'll only get worse and your sink deeper and deeper. It's a horrible feeling." Lai said as Alec closed his book.
"Nothing is on my mind......"
."Kai. And I never get wrong readings. It feels like a thunderstorm is slowly growing in you that'll strike if it's unchecked." Kai put a hand on Alec's shoulder.
"Look. I came to this show to win money for my family. That's it." Alec said as Kai was quietly thinking.
"Maybe you miss them then. The heart can want something more than you think " Kai offered more advice as Alec sighed.
"I've read books on this stuff and I honestly don't believe it's really honest." Alec commented.
"My friend. It's not make me believe. Trust me when I tell you it's helpful to let your heart decide your choices. It makes us human and vulnerable, which is when we're at our strongest." Kai smiled gently as Alec grabbed his book to stand up.
"Being vulnerable makes it more easy for betrayal in this game. And again. Nothing is wrong with me." Alec said as he left.
Kai sighed as he looked down. Alec shutting emotions out like that wasn't gonna end well if he kept it up. But there wasn't much left he could do now.
Farther up was a ginger haired woman drawing in a sketchpad quietly. Using her surroundings of the trees to draw out the trees. Her hair tied into a ponytail.. she had on a light blue blouse with a. Pocket on one side. A black skirt. Black and grey knee high socks with black boots as she hummed gently.
She was ignoring the person she was sitting beside, mainly because of her negative ass attitude, but she was quietly writing down more color as she smiled. The girl swapped green for brown now. Happy with how the leaves were looking. Ellie Parker.
Beside her scowling, arms crossed was an old lady! Her grey hair was tied into a bun and she had a permanent scowl on her face. She had a green shirt with white flowers on it under a dark blue sweater jacket. She had on black pants and greenish black slippers as she glanced at Ellie. Miriam Foster
The scowl still never left her face as she kept watching the girl draw, wishing she didn't choose to draw here and be bugging her. But no. For the last hour. She had to deal with this going on with it not ending.
"And what would be a good reference? Ugh. I got nothing for that one part." Ellie's raspy voice filled out as she was glancing out the window more and looking back down.
"Sticm with something and go with it. And stop overthinking every little pointless design for trees." Miriam scowled.
"Excuse me?" Ellie asked, looking up confused at hearing Miriam say this with no warning. She wasn't being that noisy.
"I can't sit here quietly with you mumbling every five seconds." Mirian scowled as Ellie kept staring at Miriam in surprise.
"Sorry I have a hobby. And for the record. You didn't even ask me to quiet down." Ellie scowled as Miriam didn't budge.
"I shouldn't have to ask for silence.you can draw without mumbling."
"It's called thinking out loud. If you'd asked I would have stopped " Ellie said, snapping her book shut, upset now.
"You were doing it for the last 30 minutes." Miriam snapped.
"And you said shit! I'm not a psychic! Ellie raised her voice slightly, surprising some people nearby.
"And I don't appreciate bitching for no reason on a non issue." Ellie said.
"I don't either. Kids today have nothing good to ever say." Miriam said as Ellie gently scoffed.
"Sure. Judge me before you know me. Totally fair. I do that to you. You'd complain!" Ellie snapped as Miriam didn't respond as Ellie stood up, grabbing her book.
"I give respect to people who actually show kindness back first. Not whatever this stick up your ass bit is." Ellie spat as she walked away, Miriam not caring at the words as she looked out the window.
At least now she had her peace and quiet from the girl instead of having to deal with it some more than she was already.
It went back to Kai as he looked more troubled as he was thinking.
As he thought more. He felt more bad vibes from some. The bus driver was just screaming red, anger, and nothing green. Ellie seemed more orange, that was a granting vibe. Miriam was black. Meaning she was super deep on negative emotions. The only other one he was seeing that from was Tess.
"Is this seat taken?" Tess asked as Kai glanced up to look her right in the eyes.
Speaking of Tess. Here she was.
Maybe he could try and help her after he couldn't help Alec.
Seeing people all negatively hurt. And he didn't want everyone to keep feeling this way if he could do something to Improve someone's day.
"It's open to sit ." He smiled. As she quietly sat next to him. Not saying much.
"Why sit here. Your soul is giving off space vibes." Kai said as Tess raised a brow.
"I needed space. Get away from the others and move to the front when it's more empty. I just want some silence." Tess sighed.
"Well I'm happy to help you." Kai smiled as Tess didn't say much, sitting down.
"Meh. Not much could. But thanks" Tess said as Kai frowned a little
"Thise thoughts will lead to bad stuff happening. I know someone that went through something similar. What helped was communication."
"Heard that before.... still a struggle." Tess sighed as Kai lowered his head. He was thinking about what else to say.
"Well what do you like to do?"
"Draw. Usually messy stuff."
"Embrace that then. It'll be nice to feel joy inside and not that pit of sadness constantly pulling at you and winning again and again." Kai said.
"Guess I could..... The front is open. Gonna move up there."
"Are you sure you want to sit up there alone?" Kia asked.
"I would like to be alone." Tess sighed as Kai frowned more.
"Tess. Those dark thoughts will get you nothing but more pain. It's better to talk those out then bottle them up and drown them." Kai repeated as Tess looked at his eyes.
"My therapist said to try this show. Now sure if it's gonna work out. But better than being home and nothing working for me I guess." Tess sighed as Kai bowed gently.
"I wish I could help you note. But I don't know if I can do anything " Kai sighed as Tess chuckled. Placing a hand on his shoulder
"Most people never tried talking. So thank you for at least making this one somewhat enjoyable. It's the second one I had today." Tess smiled briefly before the frown returned and she walked away.
Kai paused, second? He wasn't sure who she talked to already today.
He saw Tess walking towards the front, away from most and he sighed.
The vibes some were giving were sad vibes not happy ones.
And it hurt to see this all around him.
Maggy sheepishly looked around at how sociable some people were. It intimidated her a little. She was already at a disadvantage, her only friend was Drew! Which wasn't a bad thing by any means but it still worried her when there were 12 others still here that could work together!
Maybe she was over reacting but her point still stood. She was at rock bottom with no idea how to get out of it right now. Which was the worst.
Looking down and giving a sign, she suddenly jumped when someone jumped into her seat, scaring the daylights out of her.
"Hello!" Gabby grinned happily at Maggy who just looked shocked that Gabby chose to interact with her. But very quickly Gabby was able to somehow push forward without an answer.
"What's your favorite animal?" Gabby grinned.
"Uh..... dog." Maggy quietly said.
"Ooh! Fun! Then let's get you a doggy!" Gabby grinned as she got paper out of her bag and suddenly started folding it without a second thought.
Maggy couldn't respond. Gabby's energy was so random, and yet so welcoming. It made Maggy smile a tiny bit but she was still stumped on any topic to talk about with Gabby.
"I love your ponytail! I wish I could braid my hair like that! It's not too out of place. Cutely knotted up and it makes the look perfect." Gabby grinned.
My uh..... My mom helped me with my hair. It took a bit but I know how to do it myself now." Maggy nervously laughed.
"Oooh! Please show me! Please! Please! Please!" Gabby practically begged as Maggy nervously tapped her hands together but did it a little less as they talkeded, clearly easing into the conversation the more Gabby tried to do so. So she had to try for herself.
"The last girl that asked was a bully.... so it didn't really end all that well." Maggy said.
"They are the worst! Always judging for your hobbies or interests and with the mean nicknames! It makes me just want to do something to them!" Gabby said as Maggy laughed a little.
"They stopped after I accidentally hit one. Too scared to try again." Maggy blushed.
"You're like a superhero! It's awesome how you take no crap! Go Maggy!" Gabby giggled as Maggy continued to look a little nervous before she sighed.
"I could teach you how to braid your hair. My mom always said "help people who ask for it." Maggy smiled gently.
"I would love that so much!" Gabby said. Handing Maggy a paper dog.
"He's done!" Gabby cheered.
"Wow.... it's adorable." Maggy said.tryong not to crush the paper dog as Gabby grinned.
"I worked hard to get it just right. Not that hard to do. And my dad said origami classes were stupid!" Gabby laughed as Maggy smiled.
At least she had a friend to add with Drew. It was nice to meet people that wanted to be her friends. Already the show felt different, I mean look! Two friends!
Alec sighed as he kept reading. Kai's words are still on the back of his mind. It annoyed him how easily the words had gotten to him. Usually words didn't. But these ones did! And he hated it!
He could even focus on reading now as he closed his book, closing his eyes.
"Having trouble reading Tale Of Two Cities?" Dan asked, sitting next to Alec who glanced at him. Looking confused.
Dan had an idea. To bond with more people and to do so, he wanted to interact with someone else who seemed smart.
And that person looked to be Alec. With his choice of reading it made sense to Dan.
"I can't focus on reading it right now." Alec blankly said as Dan chuckled.
"It is chaotic on the bus. from what I've seen." Dan grinned as Alec still didn't respond.
"So. Any thoughts on people here?"
"The Kai guy is just odd. He can see into your soul apparently without issue. And it's frustrating that someone believes in that." Alec said.
"Eh. He was trying to be helpful. Can't say I believe in that stuff however." Dan laughed as Alec looked on blankly. Not saying much to Dan, who gave a nervous laugh.
"Oliver is interesting. He knows more than he's letting on. I guarantee it." Dan grinned as Alec raised a brow.
"Explain. Most people would be that strange." Alec said dryly. Clearly this being the guy's demeanor on a constant basis.
"He listed the reasons we were chosen. If this was a random cast. He shouldn't know this stuff." Dan grinned as Alec was thinking it over.
"It.... is a little odd. How did he respond to you asking more?"
"He ran. Like so fast. To me that feels like guilt." Dan said, giving a soft shrug to Alec without worry.
"Some people can read like an open book. Some are less readable. Up to you on how you see it." Alec shrugged.
"So we leave him be?" Dan asked.
"Also didn't say that. If he does know about stuff here, we need to keep an eye on him. He's dangerous to keep around if he has knowledge on stuff we're not meant to know. Especially if he is Dan. That means he is guilty of something." Alec rambled to Dan.
"True. We must be split into groups. I mean look at this. Fourteen of us. makes the most sense now."
"You're right about that Dan. Meaning we're dealing with at least five others if we're on a team." Alec said
"Hope to talk more. You seem smart for this kind of game." Dan grinned. Allies now was the best game move.
"Likewise." Alec said as he picked back up his book, and started reading it again without a second thought.
Dan nodded as he moved to another seat. He was clearly pleased with how the conversation went down with Alec.
Alec glanced up briefly at Dan leaving. Before he went back to reading his book. Finally having some peace again.
Miriam sat alone, continuing to look unhappy. Her fight with Ellie clearly did not change her mood at all with being better.
"Hi." Ally said gently as Miriam glanced at her, seeing how she was dressed up in gamer stuff made the lady roll her eyes.
"What do you want?" Miriam blankly asked her.
"I wanted to say hi. You seemed alone. I felt bad for you because of that. So I wanted to check up on you."
"I'm fine!" Miriam snapped
"You looked worse after the fight with that other girl?" Ally said
Miriam kept glaring, unamused at the gamer girl.
"You're that girl playing that wretched machine." Miriam scowled as Ally looked confused.
"Hey. My grandpa is a gamer." Ally said.
"Well I'm not one, nor will I ever be one." Miriam scowled more. "So why are you bugging me and not playing that retched machine?!" Miriam snapped.
"Someone down like this, and not helping isn't right. Nor is it a positive way of looking at things. Nothing is good from always being this grumpy." Ally grinned gently.
"You don't know much. Since you're bugging me."
"Hey! I know plenty!" Ally said, slightly offended at this comment, she barely knew anything about Miriam. But it was the same for Miriam!
"What do you know about elders!" Mirian snapped. But Ally wasn't backing up now. Not when she was this close.
"My grandpa had the same personality when my grandma died. He was in a bad space... and playing video games with me helped him get better. And you can too if you find that spark again." Ally tried helping.
"You can help by leaving me alone." Miriam snapped as Ally just quietly sighed. Clearly nothing she said was gonna help her.
"Alright" She said as she got up to play somewhere else.
"My grandpa did say, the worst was feeling alone. And he regretted shoving people away for just wanting to help. That's something else I know about elderly people. Pain can come at any time. It's reacting to it that helps you in the end." Ally said, before walking away.
Miriam continued scowling, but slowly frowned as she sat in silence.
It at least looked like Ally's words left an impact on the older woman.
Not that Ally was gonna know that. But she still left an impact.
Which was what she wanted to do with Miriam.
It cut up the bus to Hunter as he was sighing, looking over the question cards. He wasn't sure what he did wrong with Tess.
He thought the question cards would work...... maybe this was a mistake. It wouldn't work at school. Before he left, it wouldn't work now! Shaking his head gently, he closed his eyes.
He wasn't sure what he could do to change that feeling that it would be like school again.
He even pulled out his Rubix cube as he was nervous about this. As he started to do it, someone sat by him.
Looking over, he saw the smile of Drew as Hunter blinked.
"Uh..... hi." Hunter smiled as Drew scribbled something down.
"Hey! I'm Drew. What's your name?" Drew wrote with a grin.
"Uh. Hunter........ is that how you talk?" Hunter asked bashfully.
"Yeah. Selective mutism." Drew grinned more as Hunter nodded.
"Ah. Gotcha..... sorry. I suck at this social thing." Hunter said as Drew shrugged.
"We all have our weaknesses." Drew wrote, as Hunter smiled more.
"Well I hope things work out for us, " Hunter sighed.
"What's the cards you have there?" Drew wrote as Hunter held them up.
"Their question cards. Conversation starters." Hunter laughed.
"I would answer one." Drew grinned.
"Oh! Sure! Uh.... let's see........ oh! Here we go!" Hunter grinned happily as he pulled out a card and looked at it as he cleared his throat.
"If you suddenly win a million dollars, what would you do with that million?" Hunter said as Drew tapped his chin in deep thought, before he started writing something.
"Well that is a lot of money... would probably help my parents with stuff. Bills. House stuff. Save up money for collage. Not much else I could think of. Not one for thinking about being a millionaire" Drew scribbled out as Hunter smiled.
"Makes sense. Like for me? Help my mom more. She's done so much I want to make her happy. Another is to make my own game. I actually would love to make one since my dad is one in Japan." Hunter said as Drew scribbled down something as Hunter waited.
"Oh! That sounds fun! And is different from what I hear some do." he wrote as Hunter grinned.
"Thanks. Always worried about telling people that. Not super popular with people." Hunter gently laughed now.
"I think you're having fun. You're already super welcoming. Better than I can hope." Drew grinned, penning that out as Hunter nodded.
"Always better to give kindness to people than not being able to show said kindness.... also know what it's like to be on the bottom" Hunter said.
"Well I'm not like that. I like you." Drew wrote that down as Hunter smiled.
"If you want. I can read another card." Hunter said as Drew nodded.
Hunter pulled out another question card as Drew grinned.
Both were happy doing this even more. At least they both had a friend now
"Hey, you worked for Kristoff before right?" Tom asked as Oliver jumped.
"Excuse me?" Oliver asked, face slightly paler as Tom chuckled.
"You were a staff member on his show. The DVD extras showed you." Tom smiled as he sat down.
"Oh. Right. That!" Oliver laughed nervously as Tom just seemed happy. "I quit.... he was awful. Hoping this show us better!" Oliver sheepishly grinned as Tom looked curious.
"Well, have you heard of these guys before?" Tom asked.
"Besides the auditions, nope! All new!" Oliver nervously smiled.
"Well how'd you find out about the show then. My brother To....Tommy brought it up. I want to know how you know about it" Tom continued being positive.
"Fine..... they approached me after I quit because they needed a fourteenth player and the one host who's nice felt bad for me. So here I am." Oliver shrugged as Tom chuckled.
"Getting out of our comfort zones is great. My mom..... Janice thought this would help me. Because I'm constantly inside due to my condition." Tom said.
"What's your condition?" Oliver asked.
"I'm sensitive to light. So I have to be careful. But this works great! Tom by the way." Tom smiled.
"Uh.... Oliver." He said.
"Well I'm happy we're clicking so well, I'm hoping we're on the same team." Tom grinned happily as Oliver blinked in confusion at him.
"You want us to be on the same team?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah! Mom always said I was a great friend maker!" Tom beamed under his mask as Oliver laughed nervously.
"You don't get out much, I guess that makes sense."
"Exactly!" Tom continued to smile as Oliver scratched his head.
"What do you do for work?" Oliver asked.
"Computer stuff from home." Tom blankly said.
"Wouldn't take you for a computer type. But if the brother from malcom in the middle can make it work. Anyone can." Oliver said.
"Exactly. We can have an office job from home and still be funny." Tom laughed.
"So you're gonna be a hardball player that must win the money or are you here for fun." Oliver nervously smiled.
"I want to make friends and already made one so I say that's a win!" Tom cheered.
"It sucks when we have to vote people out. Not sure how'd we go at voting anyone off on our team. Especially when the challenges are unknown." Oliver sighed.
"Don't worry Oliver. United together we are strong and can do anything! As a team, we'll make sure we never make someone feel alone and we'll get that million as a....... seven person team!" Tom grinned as Oliver trapped his knee more and more as both grew quiet.
"Right! Of course! Yeah! Totally! Team unity! Woo! Uh... Can I go interact with others before we get to our stop? It's soon." Oliver asked.
"Sure Oliver!" Tom smiled.
As Oliver ran to another seat. Tom pulled out a note pad and wrote something down. Squinting gently.
Oliver, former intern in reality tv. Accomplice? Unsure.
It cut to Ellie as she was finishing up her drawing. The colors were perfect. But what surprised Ellie was seeing someone was watching her.
'Uh.... hi." Ellie said to Karol.
"Surprised you finished that after that old bat acted like a bitch." Karol said.
"Thank you. Was up my ass for no reason! And she had this superiority behind her words. What a bitch." Ellie grumbled. Closing her book as Karol chose to sit by her.at least they had something to talk about.
"If this is all a game. I hope she leaves soon." Ellie sighed as Karol nodded.
"People see others as doormats. Like the hosts here! This crappy bus wouldn't be legally drivable!" Karol snapped.
"Yesh. Half these windows are cracked. No working ac. And none of these seats have seat belts. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen" Ellie said.
"At least someone here has common sense." Karol said. "That gabby girl also thought the same thing." Karol said.
"Oh you talked to her?" Ellie asked. Making Karol raise a brow.
"I liked her energy." Ellie shrugged.
"Notmally I hate people like her.... but she was diffrent. Helped she loves animals too. Made me a paper cat." Karol said, showing Ellie it.
"Wait... that's really detailed. How'd she get the whiskers down so well? What the hell?" Ellie squinted as she quickly opened her book.
"You're sketching that?" Karol asked.
"Artists always strike while the Irons hot. " Ellie said.
"Can't fault that..... I think we can be a well made unit if we stick with Gabby. Us three would be dangerous." Karol smirked.
"Alliance already?" Ellie chuckled.
"Better now then never. strike while it's hot." Karol smirked. She was trying.
"If we're on the same team, sure." Ellie said, as the two shook hands.
Suddenly the bus stopped, like someone slammed on the brakes as everyone almost went flying forward.
As they looked at the driver. They saw him stand up. He was a looming figure. Muscled, with a blank tank top, jeans, boots, and grey hair a Grey bread went with his hair, with a scar over his left eye.
"Everyone get off now!" He barked. A thick Scottish accent came out as he glared at all of them.
No one dares to say anything to him. Clearly he was pissed at them.... or life. But still. He was an intimidating man, no one wanted to anger him even more.
Quietly glancing at each other. Everyone agrees this gut was a lunatic except Tom. Who scribbled something down
Everyone quietly and quickly grabbed their luggage as they started to exit the bus. One by one they left.
The man was still glaring daggers as everyone walked by.
Hopefully this was their stop. Or this was gonna be super red flaggy surer duper fast
As all got off. They all saw a camp sign and two guys standing there. With purple and teal colored mats on the ground. One of the hosts looked ugly.
And here they come! They’ve finally arrived! Please welcome… Maggy, Oliver, Alec, Tess, Tom, Ellie and Gabby. You guys will be the Purple Team..... Or the Purple Racoons." Trevor smiled.
Confessional: Oliver
"I've worked with the tv network for years! My former boss was uh...... yeah. Let's not talk about him. But I got casted here and am excited to show what I can do! I trust that these two are better hosts than Kristoph!"
Confessional End
" And on the other side… Dan, Miriam, Drew, Ally, Hunter, Kai and Karol. You will be the Teal Team. Or the teal beavers." Derek smirked.
Confessional: Dan
"Hi! I'm Dan! A guy that's done the numbers on shows like this. The first thing you want to do is get numbers. With a team of seven, I read up on this show and heard we'd vote people out of the game. With seven on a team if I can get a majority, then I should have an easy time until there's not many left, and then-"
Confessional End
"Welcome campers! Are you ready for a once in a lifetime adventure?! A chance to become rich! And have as much fun as possible?!" Trevor grinned happily as he looked around, getting blank faces from everyone.
“I always love your enthusiasm, Trevi I do. But let’s be honest, they’re going to need a lot more than enthusiasm to survive out here. Or die trying." Derek smirked.
Oh, don’t listen to Derek! He’s just in a bad mood because he forgot his coffee in the morning. This place is amazing, and I’m sure everybody will have an unforgettable experience." Trevor laughed nervously.
"So it's camp activities?" Hunter asked.
"I hope the view of the lake is pretty!" Gabby cheered.
"Oh, I hope you didn't forget, there are no cabins! In fact, all there is is a vast forest!" Derek said.
"What the, who now?" Miriam asked, scowling.
"So uh... where do we sleep?" Ally asked, looking around.
"That's just great, first a shitty bus and now sleeping outside, what two bit show is this?!" Karol snapped.
"Uh..... It said this in your contracts you sighed." Trevor blinked, confused.
"Listen up losers. For the next two weeks your only supplies will be a tent, a machete, and a pot. You will not have cabins, food, or any supplies. You’ll be looking out for yourselves. No exceptions." Derek smirked.
"There will, however, be a way to get extra supplies by winning the challenges. So if you want a more easy time for now. Use it to your advantage!" Trevor grinned sheepishly as Derek rolled his eyes, holding up a purple and teal colored map, tossing Purple to Tom and Teal to Karol.
"Here’s a map for each team, which will guide you to the area where you’ll find your tent. Now, move! You don't know when a twist will be looking to strike you down!" Derek chuckled deliciously as the two teams quietly went walking off in different directions.
It cut to the purple team as they were walking towards their camp. Right away, Gabby noticed something.
"How are you comfortable wearing a sweater vest with a dress shirt and pants out here?" Gabby asked Alec as he glanced at her.
"I'm no stranger to hot weather. I'm built for it." He shrugged, before going back to his book.
"You're really into that book." Ellie said.
"It's what I like to do. Read." He shrugged.
"And..... aren't you hot?" Gabby asked, looking at Tom.
"Eh. I have a condition. Skin can't touch light." Tom laughed.
"What's the material made out of?" Gabby asked.
"Oh it's a breathable fabric that's animal friendly." Tom said as Gabby's eyes lit up at this.
"Do you know how much longer this will be?" Tess quietly asked.
"Are you tired already?" Tom asked.
"Just don't care much for this." She sighed.
"Well.... it won't be that long." Tom chuckled.
"What twists do you think those hosts meant?" Gabby asked.
"I don't know. I can't recall how many challenges we have. I just know it's over a month." Ellie said.
"Well if we want to be ready, it's best we get camp all ready to go." Alec said, looking up.
"W...what would we need to do?" Maggy asked.
"Start a fire. Get wood. Find anything to eat. Basically make sure we have essentials for stuff." Alec said as Maggy nodded sheepishly at this.
"If we work together we should be able to do anything together!" Gabby cheered.
"I think we'll be fine." Oliver smirked.
"Why do you say that?" Ellie asked.
"I know what we're in for, I've worked with a guy that works for the same company, and he was a monster. This will be way smoother." Oliver grinned.
He missed the look Tom gave him, but he kept walking as Alec fixed his glasses.
So he knows stuff about the people recording this?
"So..... uh..... you worked for the company that-" Maggy started to say to Oliver, who backed up slightly.
"Ahh! It's a monster!"
As everyone turned to Oliver and her, Maggy shrinked in herself before Gabby suddenly grabbed Oliver by the neck of his shirt.
"Leave her alone. She isn't a monster." Gabby glared holes into Oliver, who nodded, terrified as Gabby let go, before suddenly going back to being happy as she walked forward.
As Oliver saw Maggy walk back, she quickly walked forward as he shook his head, keeping up with the team.
"Uh.... we should make it to camp in about ten minutes." Tom said, getting nods from a few.
"Alright." Alec said.
"Got it." Ellie said.
"Whatever." Tess sighed.
"Thank you." Maggy sheepishly said.
"Yay!" Gabby cheered, Oliver just staying quiet now.
Confessional: Gabby
Sometimes, I can get a little upset… But it’s something I couldn’t control, so I prefer to see the positive side of things! Hopefully I'm doing better this time around then the last time!....... let's not uh..... go into that one." She giggled.
Confessional End
It cut to the teal team walking to camp in silence. The only sounds were the clicking of buttons from Ally's switch.
"How much further?" Miriam snapped suddenly as everyone glanced at her.
"Uh..... According to the map, we’re… two kilometers away." Hunter said, a bag over his shoulder as he glanced at Miriam.
"Oh, if you need help to carry your luggage, I can help." Hunter sheepishly smiled as Miriam glared at him.
"I don’t need your help!" She snapped as the rest of the team besides Karol looked at her.
"Okay.... sorry." Hunter looked down, Drew patting his shoulder.
Confessional: Miriam
"I would never trust anyone here with my luggage! I’ve watched these types of shows. I look away for five seconds and my luggage is gone for everyone to know!"
Confessional End
As Dan looks around, he eyes Ally's clothing as she looked at him, confused.
"Can I ask you something?" He asked.
"Sure!"
"Why are you dressed like that?"
'What do you mean?" Ally asked, blinking.
"Your jacket.... it's just..... odd looking." Dan said as Miriam scoffed.
"What a surprise. Another young whippersnapper who loves to dress for attention!" Miriam scowled as Kai raised a brow.
"Actually, it's a tetris theme..... my Grampa loves it." Ally laughed.
"O… kay?" Dan said as Ally looked confused at the way he was handling this.
"What about you? You've been quiet since we got off the bus." Ally said to Kai who looked up.
"Kai. A man wanting to spread positive vibes all around.... sadly the bus ride here was showing the exact opposite. Sad and negative thoughts cloud many here." Kai sighed.
"Another spirit hippie." Miriam said.
"Listen granny, if you have nothing positive to say, shut it!" Karol suddenly spun around, surprising everyone as she pointed at Miriam.
"Excuse me?" Miriam crossed her arms.
"Your bitchy comments only make people hate you more! Zip. It!" Karol said, before continuing to walk forward, at least it seemed to make the tension chill a little as they kept walking.
"Well.... uh...... and you?" Ally asked Drew after a minute who smiled as he started scribbling something.
"My name is Drew"
"Oh..... you don't talk?" Ally asked.
Drew just grinned and gave a thumbs up.
"Well nice to meet you, glad we're on the same team!" Ally smiled.
"Same. I already met some friends." Drew wrote, smiling still as Ally nodded, bagging her switch for now while they were walking.
Karol glanced at Hunter who sheepishly smiled, he was trying to help with the map.
Rolling her eyes, she handed him the map, which he took with a smile.
"Thanks!" He grinned as he was looking it over.
"Don't steer me wrong. Got it?" She asked.
"Yes ma'am." Hunter smiled timidly.
Confessional: Karol
"I’d like to know who picked the teams, and why mine has the bitchy grannay, a gamer girl, and four guys who look like they've never been outside, or one that's been outside too much!"
Confessional End
It cut to the purple team arriving at Camp as Tom looked around.
"Okay, I can make the fire, but I'll need help to do it." He smiled under his mask as Alec closed his book, walking over.
"I don't think that's necessary. I think there’s a faster way that only needs one man to do it." Alec said as Tom raised a brow.
"What’s on your mind?" He asked as Alec took off his glasses, aiming them at the sticks, the sun hitting the lens as the few sticks were starting to light up. "Oh! That's smart to do!" Tom chuckled.
"It is." Ellie nodded.
"Yay! You did it! We won't be freezing tonight!" Gabby cheered.
"That's..... good." Maggy weakly smiled.
"Okay..... we have some tasks to do..... hm..... I’ll take Tess to the lake for water. Oliver, you and Macy can go explore the area and see if there’s anything like berries or fruit for us to eat. Alec, Ellie, Gabby, could you tend to the fire?" Tom asked.
"What?!" Maggy squeaked out.
"Whatever." Tess sighed.
"Sure." Ellie shrugged.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Gabby cheered.
"Alright. Go team." Tom smiled as they split up, ALec sitting down, and pulling out his book again, Gabby and Ellie sitting across from him.
"Oooh! I love your hair! Do you take care of it with any special product?" Gabby smiled at Ellie who blinked at the blunt question, but chuckled.
"Thank you! Not really, just a national conditioner..... feels nice." Ellie shrugged.
"Yay! I love natural products! Not harmful to animals at all!..... what are you reading?" Gabby asked Alec.
"What? Oh. It’s just a book about survival in isolated places. It should be helpful for us over the next few weeks. Do you like reading?" Alec asked.
"Well yes, although I prefer reading on my cell phone and not on paper so I don’t read knowing that trees are being killed and made into what I'm holding." Gabby said as Alec nodded.
"Understandable. So you're an animal lover?"
"You bet I am!" Gabby cheered happily at him. I'll hurt anyone who hurts nature!" Gabby grinned deliciously for a second before going back to normal. "But so far I love my team!" Gabby cheered as Ellie nodded.
"Hmmm.... Gabby. Ellie. I had an idea, if you're up to hear it." Alec said.
"Uh sure." Ellie shrugged as Gabby nodded.
"How would forming an alliance together sound, the three of us? We need to have numbers. We look out for each other. Without being open about it for now."
"What happens at the end? If we make finals?" Ellie asked.
"Fair battle for the money." Alec shrugged.
"Oooh! I love this idea!" Gabby cheered, clapping a little and nodding.
"I guess better than being alone in a team." Ellie nodded.
"Wonderful." Alec said, chill as ever still.
Confessional: Ellie
"This could be wreckless of me..... but having numbers now would be safe for a few rounds. I had to accept."
Confessional End
It cut to the Lake as Tom scooped a bucket of water, setting it by Tess as she sighed.
"Need something?" Tom warmly asked, he was just giving energy.
"Yea..... What's the real reason you wear a mask? The pants and hoodie I could get. but the mask doesn't make sense with your eyes showing." Tess squinted at Tom.
"Nothing. Just a skin condition." Tom laughed nervously, his hand going to his mask before his eyes went wide.
"Oh crap, we dropped a bucket. Be right back." Tom sheepishly smiled as he walked into the forest to find said bucket.
As Tom walked away for a moment, Tess pulled out a bottle, taking out a pill to swallow it.
Unknowingly letting Tom see it secretly, whose eyes went wide at this, before he continued looking for said bucket.
Tess knew she pushed a little too hard..... she didn't really care. She probably wasn't lasting much longer anyway. But a part of her was curious.
Confessional: Tess
"Tom is clearly hiding something. He has a tell of getting nervous when people ask him something. He avoids some questions..... either he has a reason to be here, or the more likely one, he has a story with his appearance he doesn't want to show..... it's whatever.... but I get it. I wish I was invisible."
Confessional End
"Alright! I found it!" Tom chuckled as he came back.
"Cool." Tess quietly said.
"What's wrong?" Tom asked as he faced her, grabbing the other bucket as Tess was looking at the lake.
"Nothing." Tess blankly said, picturing the view for later to draw.
"If there's any issues Tess.... I'm here to be a shoulder." Tom said as Tess didn't say much.
"It doesn't really matter in the long run." Tess blankly said.
"Of course it does. We're a team, and I would rather not let my team be miserable if I could do something to help in the long run." Tom said as Tess continued to stay silent.
She filled her bucket up, sitting it by her as she stayed quiet for slightly longer before looking at Tom.
"..... how do you plan to drink that water?" Tess asked, moving the convo around.
"We have a pot, put it over the fire, boil it. Boom. We have the water to drink." Tom smiled as he picked up two buckets. "Let's head back!"
"Fine." She dryly said as she picked one up too.
As the two started walking back, Tom glanced at Tess who was blankly carrying her bucket still as Tom looked back ahead, frowning behind his mask.
Confessional: Tom
"Man..... with my team, I was hoping for some fun.... Gabby has energy. Ellie is at least open to this. Alec is helpful. Maggy needs to come out of her shell.... but Oliver and Tes..... I don't know man.... I wish I can let everyone feel like they can open up.... My teenage years were bad..... clearly Tess had similar pain somewhere."
Confessional End
It cut to Maggy and Oliver looking around for anything to eat. Maggy was trying to ignore Oliver since the walk to camp, fidgeting with her hands a little as she looked around.
The silence was bugging her and it didn't seem to be bugging Oliver at all as she gulped nervously. Why did she have to be paired with him? But Tom was so nice to everyone. She didn't want to say no to his suggestion for team assignments.
She hummed quietly, before her eyes went wide as she looked up, seeing Bananas high up in a tree.
She wouldn't expect this in a forest, but it was what Tom wanted them to find! She couldn't reach them, but if she got Oliver, they would have the height to get up there and get some of them down to bring back to camp!
She didn't want to overthink this, it made perfect sense to her with this idea.
"Hey Oliver! I found-" Maggy gently yelled out before getting cut off.
"You're not tricking me!" He yelled out as she sighed.
Confessional: Maggy
"What did I do to make Oliver hate me? He just looks at me like I did something wrong..... Usually I scare people... But I didn't say anything to him.... so what am I missing with this one...... why can't I make friends?" It has to be me."
Maggy frowned, before shaking her head. She knew she had to do something.
Suddenly, she punched the tree, as it shook, she punched it two more times. After a fourth punch, bananas started falling around her as she smiled gently. Scooping up some Bananas into her arms to carry back as Oliver walked over with an apple in his hand.
"You found an apple?" She asked.
"Yeah. Where'd you get the bananas?" Oliver asked, squinting.
"I tried to tell you there was some up that tree, you walked away before I could say something." Maggy said as Oliver bit into the apple.
"It's a likely story." He smirked as she just stared blankly at him. "What?" Oliver asked.
"Nothing." Maggy mumbled as she looked away.
"People like you are always the first threat to go in something like this, a strong threat, not sure what else to say."
"You've seen this show before?"
"Na. I was a helper in another reality show, and usually the players found physically strong people to be the threats." Oliver smirked.
"I'm taking these back to camp." Maggy said as she started walking away.
Oliver watched her go, biting into the apple again while thinking.
Confessional Change: Oliver
"The first vote is easy. Maggy is a threat. Towering. Strong. Threatening. She's clearly the first target that we need to vote out if we lose. I know this isn't like losing a race by being the last to finish, this one is a game about playing smarter. I won't fail with this..... yes. The aggression is needed to keep her at a distance!"
Confessional End
It cut to the Teal camp as Karol glanced at everyone., looking slightly unamused.
"Alright. We need to do things in pairs. Water. Food. Fire. Choose something." Karol said.
"I can look for anything to eat for us." Ally smiled brightly as Karol nodded, looking at everyone else.
"I can go with her. Better That then anything else." Drew wrote with a grin.
"I can work on the fire." Hunter smiled.
"I can help him with the fire." Kai gently said, bowing his head as Karol nodded.
"Then.... you Dano. You get water with me." Karol said as Dan squinted.
"Dan. Not Dano. Or Waldo." He dryly said.
"Not with that style of clothing. You look like one. Come on." SHe said, grabbing two buckets as Dan followed with the other one, rolling his eyes.
"Alright.... so we start a fire by rubbing two sticks together till we get smoke then blow on it, right?" Hunter asked Kai who nodded.
"Wonderful way of executing it, yes." Kai nodded.
"Just don't do it noisy." Miriam scowled as she sat on a log.
"...... OKay." Hunter mumbled as he and Kai walked off, looking around for sticks. Hunter nervously chuckled.
"So.... Karol's a bit extreme right?" Hunter asked.
"She has some negativity to her, but there's a part of her that cares too. I wouldn't worry too much..... the other team felt the same way too."
"So you can read people's....... minds?" Hunter said, picking up some sticks.
"Not exactly. I can sense thoughts with their emotions, when you yell or let out negative vibes, you're more open in that moment." Kai explained as Hunter nodded.
"I've seen that Ally girl play online before." Hunter laughed as Kai looked over.
"Oh? A connection already, I hope it works out for you. By the way, the kindness you showed Tess on the bus paints you in a positive warmth." Kai said, grabbing some sticks as Hunter rubbed the back of his head.
"You saw that?"
"I talked with her..... she wasn't up for much."
"Yeah......" Hunter sighed as they walked back to camp, dropping their sticks into the fire pit as they both knelt down, starting to rub sticks together.
Hunter turned to look at Miriam, as Kai glanced up, curious about this move.
"Do you need anything Miriam?" Hunter smiled.
"No! Leave me alone." Miriam snapped as Hunter frowned.
"Okay.... jeez.... no need to be so harsh." He quietly said.
As Hunter looked down, getting the fire started, Kai frowned slightly at Miriam before he looked back down, going back to helping Hunter.
Confessional: Kai
"I just feel sad vibes from Miriam. Not bad vibes..... just super sad ones hidden under how she really feels. And it sucks. I can't help because she doesn't want to open up to anyone...... Would it be wise for me to think her playing isn't smart if she's this down? Normally I would look for the positives.... but this one feels different from other situations."
Confessional End
It cut to Ally and Drew looking around for anything to eat, both struggling to find anything important.
As she looked at Drew he smiled as he wrote something out, making her pause as she waited.
"What games do you play?" He wrote as Ally's eyes went wide.
"Oh not that many......... that's a lie. First person shooters. RPG'S. Action adventure. Platformers. Light Novels. Survivor Horrors. Simulators." Ally listed them off as Drew nodded gently at her.
"That's a lot of games to play." He smiled as Ally laughed more now.
"Oh trust me. They're a lot..... but the classic ones are just as fun." She grinned,
"Classics?"
"Oh my god. You haven't play them? We have a duck hunt. The original Mario. Donkey Kong. Sonic. Mother. Final Fantasy.... those are more new..... uh Space Invader, Pac-Man, Tetris." Ally smiled.
"You said your grandpa loves that one?"
"Yeah... it was his first one and it's nice to play the old games with him. I remember the nights I spent with him and my grandma, staying up late seeing who could get a better score..... it got me into gaming so much." Ally said as Drew smiled happily for her.
"It seems you were super close to your grampa."
"I am! He's why I plan on getting a tattoo! A heart, like Zelda with P2 on it!"
"For Player Two?"
"Exactly! Ally laughed before her eyes lit up.
"Jackpot! Pears, a whole bunch of them! This is perfect!" She said as Drew gave a thumbs up as Ally started scooping up Pears to take back, Drew joining her.
"This should be enough, we don't need fifty gallons right off the bat." Ally said as Drew nodded as they started walking back to camp, happy they got their task done fairly quickly.
Confessional: Ally
"Drew's the youngest here by the sounds of it. I don't want anything bad to happen to him..... but would keeping him in be the smartest move?We don't know what these challenges are yet. But would voting him out be the nice thing....... ugh. It's like making a choice in a game that has different results based on your choices. Ugh. I hate this already. Choices. Choices. Choices. Screw it, I'll figure it out as I play. No need to sweat right now, trying hard wins no one over as friends!....... I've learned from multiplayer games. Uhh. let's not go there now."
Confessional Change: Drew
He smiled happily as he started scribbling something down before showing it.
"Ally is really nice, like Hunter and Maggy. I'm glad two of them are on my team."
As he flipped the page over, he wrote something else down, grinning still. as he had more on his mind.
"Honestly, the only one that I'm not a big fan of is Miriam.... she's not a really fun bright spot at camp."
He frowned, but wrote something else down.
"I'm just happy with who I have as my friends currently."
Confessional End
It cut to Karol and Dan by the lake, gathering water in their buckets, more quietly, but no bickering.
"So.... you're smart right." Karol asked, deciding to break the ice.
"Yes I am!" Dan grinned.
"Listen..... I picked you, because I feel you're valuable to the team."
"Really? Me? I'm like one of the weakest compared to Hunter, Ally and Kai."
"But you have brains. We need to be smart, not stupid right?" Karol asked.
"Right." Dan nodded, filling his water up to the top of the bucket.
"It's two weeks of us playing things smart. And getting rid of the ones on the team we can afford to lose." Karol said, rubbing her chin as Dan nodded.
"Sounds reasonable. But we can't be guns blazing about this. If they suspect something, we're targets instantly." Dan said as Karol snapped her fingers.
"Exactly. A lie low kind of alliance." Karol smirked.
Dan grunted as he sat his bucket down, giving the camera a look.
Confessional: Dan
"Karol is a bit blunt... but having an ally and one that's not easily liked is a good idea. She'd be a perfect shield in the long one if I need to get rid of someone and it's not me. Especially if Miriam goes first.... we get someone else out after, then Karol would be the perfect target to get out, and then we'll hopefully be at the merge and not worry about the other team."
Confessional End
"Hunter and Ally are the ones we keep right?" Dan asked.
"Yeah, Hunter's not the most front guy, but he looks like he's strong. Ally at least seems in the zone out here. It's the others that worry me."
"Kai isn't the one that would be physically strong.... which makes a simple target."
"But....... he can offer more than Drew or Miriam. Miriam's an old bat who will drag morale down faster then I would. Drew is better, but having to write everything down makes it more tricky." Karol said as Dan nodded.
"Hopefully we don't need to vote off more than two teammates before those two weeks are up, or else we might be in trouble." Dan chuckled as Karol nodded.
'I trust our team to do decent enough. Just can't overthink this, and we'll be fine."
"Agreed..... we should get back." Dan grunted as he lifted his bucket.
Karol nodded, doing the same thing.
Confessional: Karol
"Dan is the smart one here. I'm known for having a temper, I know this and I'm not stupid. He most likely agreed to an alliance to use me. I can use that to my advantage. Get some numbers for now, and then I can drop him when he's outlived his usefulness. The smart ones are the dangerous ones in this game. I know they are. This isn't all physical, some of it is mental. It's teams for now, but I'm here to win, even if I need to lie a bit low for it."
Confessional End
"Attention Campers! Please come to the middle of the forest for your first challenge!"
It cut to the two teams walking onto a purple and teal colored mat as Trevor grinned.
"Welcome campers to your first challenge! Hope you all are ready!" Trevor grinned as everyone nodded before Derek interrupted.
"But first, we have a little twist for you all!" Derek smirked evilly.
"Oh no." ALly mumbled.
"Twist? But I get dizzy easily!" Gabby said.
"Not that kind of twist Gabs." Tom chuckled.
"New rule, let us actually explain everything before you comment. Anyway, in this game, you should never feel safe. Right now, both teams are gonna vote one person off of their team." Derek said.
"What?!" Karol snapped.
"Oh that's a twist." Hunter blinked.
"Excuse me?" Alec asked.
"So you had us doing team bonding stuff just to have us vote a teammate out day one?!" Ellie snapped.
"Yep! We will give you a piece of paper where you must write the name of the person you want out, and deposit it in these ballot boxes. No talking with your team, it's anyone's vote, get voting!
It showed the campers each writing a vote down before putting it in the box one by one, before cutting to Trevor in front of the boxes.
"Alright. I'll read the votes. And whoever gets the most is voted off the team..... Purple first. First vote. Maggy."
Maggy's eyes went wide at this.
"Oliver."
Oliver had the same reaction.
"Oliver."
Gabby smirked in his direction.
"Oliver."
Tom raised a brow at this one.
"Maggy."
Tess rolled her eyes at the clear show of stalling.
"Maggy. Three votes Maggy. Three votes Oliver. One Vote left...... The person was kicked out. Maggy." Trevor read.
"M..... Me?" Maggy said.
"Sorry Mags....... you're too sweet.... would make it harder later." Ellie sighed.
"It wasn't personal." Alec shrugged.
Oliver at least was smart enough to not say anything as Maggy tried to hide how hurt this was. Gabby glaring daggers at him.
"But that's not all! We have the Teal team's votes..... Karol."
Karol crossed her arms at this.
"Karol."
Dan's eyes went wide. Two?!
"Karol."
"Of course." Karol grumbled.
"Miriam."
Miriam simply glared at Trevor.
"Miriam."
Hunter looked away, a bit of shame on his face.
"Miriam. Tied again..... Teal team voted to kick out..... Miriam."
"Of course you whippersnappers voted for me." Miriam scowled.
Dan sighed, a little on edge already from this.
"Sorry..... you just.... felt mean." Drew wrote sheepishly.
"Your soul won't heal here Miriam. I'm sorry." Kai looked down as Derek laughed.
"Miriam. Maggy. You’re kicked from your teams… but not from the competition! Go to the opposing team!" Derek smirked.
"Oh yay!" Maggy sheepishly grinned as she stumbled over to the Teal team, who mostly smiled warmly at her.
As MIriam got to Purple, most looked at her awkwardly, except Tess, who looked away, rolling her eyes.
"Don't welcome me all at once." Miriam snapped. No one responded still.
"Reminder campers, don't trust anyone but yourselves here! Anyway! Now it is time ladies and gentleman! Time to start the first challenge of the season! And I have a surprise for you. No one will be eliminated today!" Trevor grinned.
"..... but there is a catch." Karol glared.
"I would be surprised if there wasn't." Hunter laughed.
"For real, one trick pony!" Ally said.
"We won't be bamboozled again." Gabby said.
"It won't be positive." Ellie said.
"Just get on with it!" Miriam snapped.
"Whatever." Tess sighed.
"You guys didn't let me finish!" Trevor laughed. "No one will be going home, but this isn't a boring nothing challenge, you will play for a reward. Sleeping bags!" Trevor moved out of the way to show seven sleeping bags.
"Cool." Drew wrote.
"Sleeping bags?" Maggy clarified.
"Yes..... a fair thing to compete for I saw." Kai nodded.
"Eh." Dan shrugged.
"Okay... that's worth playing for." Tom chuckled.
"Hell yeah!" Oliver cheered.
"Is it needed?" Alec asked.
"Oh, you’ll need these more than anything. The nights can get pretty chilly. But hey, if something happens, we can always find a replacement on the waiting list." Derek smirked as everyone's eyes went wide at him.
"Again! He's joking! Anyway!" Trevor laughed nervously. "Allow me to explain the challenge! Each team will have an area marked with a flag. One team member will be in charge of holding onto said flag while the others have paintball guns to attack the opposing team, and thus protect their flag. The first team to steal the opposing flag and bring it to the central zone where we are currently standing gets the reward. Any questions?" Trevor asked as two crates with gear/paintball guns were dropped by him from Jensen.
"Is physical contact allowed?" Karol asked.
"If you want to get disqualified, no. It's not." Trevor said.
"Are face shots illegal?" Ally asked.
"Point blank face shots. Distance ones are fine."
"Just get the other team's flag and bring it back here?" Gabby asked.
"Yep!"
"No other weapons, just paintball guns?" Tom asked.
"We're not monsters." Derek scoffed as Trevor nervously smiled at his coo-host saying this.
"And we don't need to stick in a team, we can plan around the other team's strategy?" Hunter asked.
"Yep! All legal as long as it doesn't break a previous rule." Trevor grinned.
"Um, if we get paint on us, are we out of the challenge?" Dan asked.
"Nah, paintball guns are just for self-defense and distracting others. If you idiots got out, the challenge would be over in less than five minutes." Derek smirked.
"Teams! You can walk to your bases and we’ll give you a few minutes to plan your strategy. No extra time! Go!" Trevor cut Derek off before he said more, the two teams getting their stuff and walking off.
Confessional: Tom
"Finally, something I can fully sink my teeth into! I go paintballing with my mom and brother every weekend, fun family bonding time, so this is perfect for me!"
Confessional End
It cut to the teal team as Karol looked at the group.
"Okay having all the heavy hitters guarding or running is a stupid idea, so this is the plan. Drew has the flag while..... Maggy and I protect it, Hunter, Ally, Kai and Dan, you're going to attack and try to steal the other team. We split our power houses up so we won't have to worry about the other team." Karol said.
"You sure you want to defend the flag?" Ally asked.
"With Maggy, yes. Hunter seems smart enough to know tricks."
"Thanks! Hey!" Hunter said at the backhanded compliment.
"Ally, you mentioned shooter games. Paintball is just like that is it not?" Karol asked.
".... yeah it is." Ally laughed, grinning happily at this.
"Dan, you're the brains of the group, and can back Hunter up on plans. So I need you out there with him to make this as smooth sailing as possible." Karol said.
"Fair enough. I respect the idea of using brains for paintball." Dan nodded.
"Kai, your backup. If one of them stalls, you cover them." Karol said as Kai raised a brow.
"Isn't harming people with paintballs bad?" He asked.
"It would sting, but this is also something fun to do. Not just harming people." Hunter smiled sheepishly as Kai nodded solemnly.
"If I must, then I will." He sighed, picking up a paintball gun to look it over.
"Drew..... no offense, but of everyone here, you're best to be sitting with the flag." Karol said as Drew flicked his hand before writing.
"I get it, it makes the most sense here." He grinned.
"Maggy would be great with her power. But with the others here with a better attack idea, you being with us here Maggy makes it so we don't need to worry about too much at once." Karol said.
"What if too many come this way?" Maggy asked.
"Then we go down fighting!" Karol said, her voice being raised slightly before she calmed down. Don't make a target on herself right away.
"But if your worried....... Hunter, be the middle man, have the other's backs, but keep an eye out for the other team, make it less likely of a blindside assault." Karol said.
"Got it!" Hunter saluted in a dorky way, making Ally giggled a little.
"And of course I'm here with Maggy to cover Drew, unless someone wants to swap." Karol said, enough force to show she meant business, but not enough that everyone was scared of her or to speak up.
"Nope." Hunter said.
"Solid plan!" Ally nodded.
"Yeah, it works." Dan agreed.
"No complaints." Drew Wrote.
"Your aura is brighter with this, I'm fine with it." Kai smiled.
"I think it's a great uh.... strength with numbers." Maggy nodded.
"Good."
Confessional: Karol
"Maggy's a mess..... but could be useful if given a push to be assertive...... we'll save that talk for later discussions."
Confessional Change: Maggy
"Wow. Karol's so.....firm on her choices, I'd be scared, but she can get a plan going fast..... it's scary and amazing at the same time!"
Confessional End
It cut to Tom as he was looking over the team, before snapping his fingers.
"Okay, I got a style I think would work best for us." Tom said as everyone looked at him. "Miriam will sit with the flag, and watch over it."
"Whatever." Miriam said, sitting on the chair instantly as everyone looked confused before Tom continued.
"I know you're a firecracker Gabs, but guard the flag, it makes it more of a shock when you go crazy on attackers." Tom said as Gabby beamed
"You got it captain! I can do it!"
"Woah, I wouldn't say captain." Tom chuckled.
"You're the one in control. Sounds like it, no complaints." Ellie shrugged.
"Okay... Well, who wants to back up Gabby? Ellie?"
"Sure. Why not." Ellie shrugged.
"So that means You, me, Tess and Oliver are attackers?" Alec asked, getting a nod from Tom.
"Alec, you're the brains with us. Your fire trick was brilliant, and you may know some formations for getting an enemy item." Tom said as Alec nodded slightly.
"Oliver, you did some work on another show, that means you know the ins and outs of stuff. So you could know a thing or two." Tom said as Oliver nodded.
"Of course I know some tricks." He smirked proudly as Tom moved onto Tess.
"I think this can help you Tess. Let yourself be expressed through this challenge." Tom said as Tess got her goggles on.
"Whatever." She blankly said, surprisingly Miriam raised a brow at her at seeing this reaction, but kept quiet for now.
"So you're going on the assault?" Ellie asked Tom.
"I thought it was smarter to have me go on the attack, I've done paintball before. BUt if you guys think I'd be better back here." Tom started to say.
"No way! Me and Ellie can cover base! Go and kick their asses like a master assasin!" Gabby grinned as Everyone looked at her word choice.
"Thanks Gabs." Tom chuckled, as he looked at Alec, Tess and Oliver.
"Our part is to get that flag back, no one for all things, we gotta stick together as a unit, together we'll win this!" Tom said.
"Whatever you say." Tess quietly said.
"Sounds like a masterful plan. We can't let paint stop us." Alec said.
"Correct!" Tom grinned as they all got their hats and goggles on, picking up the paintball guns too as Tom looked around.
"If they get the flag..... Gabby you chase them. You seem to have energy."
"Of course Bestie! You can count on me!" Gabby cheered happily at this.
"Sounds like a great plan, we can't lose." Ellie smiled.
The two got ready for the challenge to start, both super eager now.
Confessional: Oliver
"I don't trust Tom. He's sneaky and hiding something! I know I was like this with Maggy...... maybe that's my issue with my game plan."
"Alright campters! Paintball captures the flag for sleeping bags!...... will officially start… now!" Trevor yelled out as the Teal and Purple teams went off as Gabby frowned at Ellie.
"So.... why did you vote Maggy?" Gabby asked.
"........ I was honest. It would have been too hard to vote Maggy out. I didn't want to have to worry about that later, and I think the people on Teal are better for her personality." Elle said.
"I guess so…" Gabby sighed. Ellie tapped her chin before smiling.
"I understand why you worry about how people see you and react to you a lot, but I love the energy you give off all the time." Ellie smiled.
"Really?!" Gabby asked. "You like my over the top energy?"
"Of course. Your fun at camp if today showed anything. Would rather wake up to you around then not have you around." Ellie chuckled as Gabby clapped happily.
"Yay! New bestie on day one!" Gabby cheered as Ellie smiled at her.
"I think.... a girls alliance will be perfect." Ellie said, before glancing at Miriam. "What do you say, Miriam? Want to be involved?" Ellie asked.
"Whatever. As long as it doesn't involve me getting voted out." Miriam said as Gabby clapped.
"So what are we gonna talk about?" Gabby asked.
"Anything you want." Ellie said.
Confessional: Gabby
"Ellie wants an open door with Miriam.... But I liked Alec. I'll talk with her about it later. I'd rather not vote for an ally."
Confessional End
It cut to the Purple team running towards the teal side as Alec looked at Tom.
"Is there a plan you have for Tom?" Alec asked.
"Hmmm..... Tess, Alec, you guys go straight, I'll find another path to catch them by surprise. Oliver, you stay here as a middle ground to look for them."
"Fine." Tess said.
"Actully Tom, Oliver's better for a a stealth based objective like this. Because the team won't see him as fast due to his small height."
"HEY!" Oliver snapped
"Hmmm. Good point Alec. Tess, you stay here. Oliver, stick with Alec."
"Fine." Oliver said, giving Alec a look.
"Whatever." Tess sighed.
"What happens if we see an opening to get the flag when we get to them?" Alec asked.
"Go for it and run." Tom said.
"That's wreckless." Olive said, rolling his eyes.
"It's better than letting them get us openly. We go wonky with movement, it'll throw them off." Tom said.
"Makes sense." Alec nodded.
"We can try it, I don't think it's gonna work." Oliver said.
"Havy some faith Oliver." Tom laughed as they kept running.
As the guys ran off, Tess walked behind a tree, gently sitting down as she let out a sigh.
She wanted today to be done already, she wasn't having fun.
Confessional: Tess
"Tom and Alec can handle this...... I would rather not get involved. Not much I'm gonna be able to do in the long run when they have those players on the team."
Confessional End
It cut to Teal as they were walking towards Purple's area.
"So what do you think of Maggy over Miriam?" Dan asked.
"I didn't want to vote for Miriam......" Ally sighed.
"She was making the team a negative zone." Dan argued.
"I don't want to make anyone feel unwanted.... but there wasn't much I could do." Kai sighed.
"Maggy's nice from what Drew mentioned." Ally said.
"Well we can make sure she feels welcomed more, she's quiet, but not like Miriam's negative attitude." Dan sighed.
"I think Karol's doing good as team leader." Ally smiled as she aimed her paintball gun around, ready for any attack.
"She has negative vibes at times, but she seems more composed than before." Kai nodded.
"If we win, we'll sleep well then we can slay the team again and again with each challenge!" Ally cheered.
"Slay?" Dan asked, moving his glasses.
"Hunter would have gotten that." Ally said.
"Because of his aloof nature. Right." Dan said.
At hearing a twig snap, the three turned, seeing Alec and Oliver frozen, Oliver having stepped on a stick.
"There they are!" Ally said as her, Kai and Dan fired at Alec and Oliver, Oliver got bombarded with paintballs as Alec ran off.
"After him!" Ally yelled as she ran off after Alec, the two guys behind her.
Confessional: Kai
"Maggy's aura was more blue than before, getting voted out hurt.... I hope I can help her not feel so alone..... or else she'll grow more blue."
Confessional End
Hunter looked around, gun drawn in case anyone charged at him as he looked around, before he saw Tess sitting alone.
"Hey..... what're you doing here alone?" He chuckled awkwardly as Tess glanced at him.
"Nothing." She sighed as he sat next to her.
"Aw come on. There has to be a reason. Paintball's usually fun." Hunter said.
"Not when it stains clothes." Tess hugged her knees as Hunter frowned more.
"It can wash out..... took me like three times to notice." Hunter said.
"Why aren't you just hitting me with paint already?"
"I'm not gonna hit you while you're clearly down." Hunter said.
"I don't want a pitiful Hunter." Tess blankly said.
"I'm not..... I'm just..... being nice. Like my mom taught me to be..... I want you to have fun." Hunter gently said as Tess sighed, brushing her hair behind her ears as she looked up at him, a small hopeful smile on his face.
She wanted to roll her eyes, he was dorky.... but it was in a cute way too. She wasn't gonna leave him hanging like that, especially when he wasn't shooting at her.
"You want to do something fun?" Tess dryly asked.
"Yes!" Hunter grinned.
"Make some poetry, then come back to me after." Tess said as Hunter nodded.
"Alright.... I'll try." He said as Tess looked up at him, a little curious now at him agreeing that easily.
"I look forward to what creativity you'll make." Tess said.
"I'll make you proud, I promise!" Hunter laughed.
It cut to Gabby and Ellie talking, Miriam fast asleep in the chair.
Despite the Polish girl' rambles, Ellie seemed interested in the conversation.
"Then I told him, "No, you can’t cut down those trees to put a shop here!", but he didn’t listen, and did it anyway! So, the day before the opening, I broke all his windows and covered the whole place with bronze paint! I didn’t want to, but I had to! You can’t do that kind of thing to nature and get away with it! And the worst thing is, that the next day I receive a call from my dad and-"
Neither girl noticed Ally quietly sneaking up behind Miriam to quietly get the flag.
"I was getting questioned as a suspect for it! It was so hard to look my dad in the eyes when he figured I did it. Because I'm just a disappointment to him." Gabby sighed as Ellie patted her shoulder.
"Hey, you don't need to feel so bad..... some parents are just bad if they think that way." Ellie said, looking back and eyes going wide at seeing Ally who was a deer in headlights.
"NEXT LEVEL GO!" Ally yelled out as she sprinted past them as Gabby looked up, surprised.
"Gabs! The flag! They're taking it!
"Oh no!" Gabby said, before suddenly taking off after Ally like a bullet as Ellie blinked.
'Wha? What's going on?" Miriam asked, waking up, super confused.
Confessional: Ellie
"What...... was that?!"
Confessional End
As Maggy looked up her eyes went wide as a trash can lid went flying at her.
"KAROL!" She yelled out, pushing the lid away as Karol turned around, both of them face to face with Tom.
"Look, just give me the flag. No one needs to get hurt." Tom said.
"What?!" Maggy squeaked out in shock at this.
"That meant to be a threat?!" Karol scowled at Tom.
"Just saying." Tom shrugged.
"W.... we will not!" Maggy said, shaking as Karol nodded, glaring at Tom.
"You're not getting the flag unless it's out of my cold dead hands!" Karol snapped as TOm blinked at this, Drew and Maggy staring at her in shock.
Confessional: Karol
"Yeah..... need to work on that more..... that was a bit extreme."
Confessional End
Tom circled around the chair, Drew following him curiously as Maggy and Karol copied him. Suddenly Tom grabbed the flag, ducking behind the chair as Maggy and Karol fired at it, Drew getting out of the way at the last second as Tom had to think of something before he heard footsteps stomping up to him.
"You're not taking our flag! Karol snapped, pointing as Tom rolled his eyes at this, pointing his gun at her.
"I can do this all day."
"So can I." Karol said, the two glaring at each other's eyes.
Suddenly Tom jumped up, surprising Karol at him doing this.
"Sorry, but I need to help my team win today, they're counting on me as their leader." He said.
As Tom spun around Karol, even disarming her suddenly, he ran forward fast towards where Trevor and Derek were, Maggy firing at him and just barely missing him as she fired.
Running past Hunter who was looking behind a tree, Hunter jumped and chased after Tom, trying to hit him but Tom was ducking and weaving too fast for a hit.
"Shit the challenge." Tess said, standing up in surprise as she watched Hunter and Tom's chase happen.
Ally's eyes went wide at hearing Gabby screaming behind her as she kept running as Dan and Kai were trying to cover Ally as the two were getting hit by Gabby at the same time as Ally ran past them.
"Thanks guys!" She yelled out as she kept running, panting as she was trying to outrun a speeding bullet that was Gabby.
Confessional: Dan (Covered in Pain, except for his eyes, which he had his glasses to shield them)
"Remind me not to upset that Gabby girl again because..... wow. She has so much energy in her..... this is why Karol didn't want me guarding the flag."
Confessional End
"It's a close race! Who'll be the first to get their flag here!" Derek grinned as Ally was running faster as Tom suddenly jumped for it, seeing she was closer, and knowing he had to do something or they were gonna lose.
"And.......Tom is the first to arrive! With that Tom wins the challenge for the Purple team, and he gets the the sleeping bag reward!" Trevor announced loudly.
"YES!" Tom cheered happily.
"Oh darn." Ally panted as she dropped to her knees.
"YES!" Gabby cheered as she slid by Ally before falling over from being unable to stop.
"We lost! Great." Karol snapped as she panted.
"We were seconds..... that has to mean something right?" Maggy sheepishly asked.
"Keep that energy up Maggy. It's more positive than being negitive." Drew wrote, smiling happily at her.
"We can only get stronger from here my friends, not weaker." Kai gently said as the rest of Purple caught up.
"Dang it!" Dan said as he and Kai caught up to her.
"Purple team, you can come get your sleeping bags and head back to your tent. Hope this helps your team morale be boosted even better, because it's only gonna get harder from here when you start losing." Derek smirked.
"We don't plan on losing anytime soon!" Tom smirked.
"Yeah!" Ellie said.
"We won't fall like flies!" Gabby said.
"That's one word for it." Alec sighed.
"WE WON!" Oliver yelled, surprising everyone.
Miriam again looked at Tess who sighed gently, but still ignored it. She wasn't gonna deal with these youngsters' drama.
As the Purple team grabbed their sleeping bags and walked off, Teal sighed, as they went off back to their camp without said items.
Confessional: Hunter
"Dang it. So close. If....... if only I was able to hit him once..... great going on making a great first impression for everyone."
Confessional End
It cut to the Beavers camp as the team was split up, walking around somewhat.
Hunter was doing a rubix cube quietly, eyes focused on it to ignore how freezing it was!
Kai was meditating, with Drew having gone inside the tent.
Ally was busy playing on her switch....... because she seemed to have more then one, but no one was fully sure on this one.
"Today was a bust." Dan sighed.
"Not exactly." Karol said, smirking at Maggy as Dan looked over.
"What's your idea for her? You seem happy she's on the team." Dan said as Karol looked at him now.
"Watch and learn." Karol said as she got up, walking over to Maggy who flinched slightly at her.
"Maggy right, I didn't get to say this earlier, but welcome to the Teal team." Karol smiled as Maggy blinked.
"Uh.... thanks." Maggy sheepishly said.
"I came to you, because I see potential in you." Karol said.
"You do?" Maggy asked.
"You have power. But your biggest issue? You're nervous about everything." Maggy sighed.
"I can help you with that." Karol said.
"You can?" Maggy asked as Karol nodded.
"We'll work on it tomarrow." Karol smiled as Magyg smiled brightly!
"Thank you!" She happily said as Karol nodded.
"You're welcome." Karol smiled as she walked over to Dan.
"Impressive." Dan said.
"Thank you." Karol smirked, neither seeing Kai open his eyes from meditating.
Confessional: Kai
"I got my eyes on them both. Maggy doesn't deserve to be manipulated."
Confessional End
It cut to the Racoon team in their tent as most of the team was already asleep, save for Tom, Ellie and Alec (Who wasn't in the tent)
"Glad we won today. These sleeping bags make it not feel cold." Ellie chuckled as Tom nodded.
"Agreed..... I'm probably gonna go help Alec with the fire." Tom chuckled.
"You sure, don't think many of us have to be up for watching the fire." Ellie said.
"Better to have back up then go at it alone, team remember?" Tom smiled.
"That's true....... Tom, do you think voting Maggy was a mistake?"
"Maggy's sweet nature..... makes having to vote for her later harder.... I'd rather not worry about it... which is why I did it. We all want to win in the end, right?" Tom asked.
"Exactly..... Gabby was a little hurt."
"She's a good soul. Felt guilty after Maggy got ragged on by Oliver...... sucks it had to be on this show." Tom said as Ellie nodded.
"Well.... we have your back. No matter what." She said.
"Thanks Ellie. That means a lot.... get some sleep. Tomarrow's an even bigger day." Tom chuckled as Ellie nodded as Tom left.
As Tom excited the tent, and walked into the woods, Alec raised a brow at watching him do this out of character thing. Curious as Tom disappeared into the darkness.
Confessional: Alec
"Tom is hiding something.... but I can't openly say that without proof. I got my eyes closely on him"
Confessional End
