Work Text:

As the new year rolls in Hanbin tries not to shake as he stands over the bathroom toilet on the verge of throwing up again. Three months ago there would have already been a hand on his back, rubbing to comfort him through each wave. Three months ago he and Gyuvin were happy.

Hanbin doesn't know why he pushed the other man away, after so many promises and declarations of love, what had changed? The truth is, Hanbin is a coward and his love for Gyuvin had become so strong that he did what he does best, he ran.

But now karma had come to slap him in the face on the first day of the year. After another day of throwing up, Hao had walked right into Hanbin’s room, thrown a box of pregnancy tests on the bed and left without a word.

Hanbin had decided to humor him.

Yet now, no one was laughing. The two bold pink lines seemed to mock him as he stared down at the positive pregnancy test. This is what he was afraid of, Gyuvin is so young, is he really ready to give Hanbin his whole life, as he had proclaimed.

Gyuvin was 22 years old for fucksake, why had he gotten on one knee in front of all their friends and asked Hanbin for forever. Why had Hanbin said yes with tears in his eyes only to break up with Gyuvin that same night.

Again, he was a coward.

He wants to marry Gyuvin, wants to have his baby, but fear makes you do some stupid things.

So now here he was, knocking on Gyuvin's door before walking right in. The younger man looked up in surprise, hurt flashing across his features, before he quickly masked his expression. He pressed his back against the wall as he looked up at Hanbin with big round eyes.

Hanbin crumbled to his knees right away.

Sobs racked his body as he pressed his forehead to the ground and just cried. Even in this moment of weakness, Gyuvin's touch was hesitant. He placed his hand on Hanbin’s back and rubbed it slowly before easing the older man's head into his lap. Hanbin let out all the regret and frustration he had been holding in as Gyuvin comforted him.

He didn't stop crying for at least ten minutes, and Gyuvin said nothing. He simply remained a steady presence in the room until Hanbin’s sobs calmed down into soft whimpers and shaky breaths. Gyuvin used his shirt to wipe Hanbin’s eyes and when Hanbin looked up the man was teary eyed as well.

“Gyuvin. I have something to tell you,”

“The last time you said that you walked out on me, I’m sure it can't get worse than that,”

Hanbin flinches, Gyuvin sounded so cold, something Hanbin had never been on the receiving end of. He quickly makes himself smaller, moving away from Gyuvin in shame. He knows he deserves the cold treatment, but still his throat closes up.

His hands tremble and Gyuvin envelopes them with his own so quickly it's almost like instinct. That had to mean something right? Maybe Hanbin hadn't completely ruined the best thing that ever happened to him.

“I don't want you to think I’m apologizing just because of the circumstance that I’m in now so I’ll just tell you right away,” Hanbin starts off.

“I’m pregnant,” He says.

Gyuvin's body jerks harshly as he takes in Hanbin’s words. He looks at the older man in disbelief, but Hanbin can see the excitement in his eyes. It’s like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders as he pulls the pregnancy test from his pocket to show Gyuvin.

“I was being stupid when I broke up with you and I guess this is fate's way of stopping me from making the biggest mistake of my life, if you’ll have me, I want to come home,” Hanbin says shakily.

Gyuvin’s tears have begun to fall now as he nods his head taking Hanbin into his arms. Now Hanbin is the one who holds Gyuvin as he sobs. Hanbin’s pal  rests against the back of Gyuvin's head as he cries so hard that he gasps in between sounds.

“I’ve been praying you’d come back, and we're going to have a baby, I’m so fucking happy,” He manages to say.

It takes them a while to get back to the people they used to be but they manage. With Hanbin now in the hospital, scheduled for a c-section to bring forth their baby to the world, it's easy. The baby cries when it's brought into the world and Hanbin does too.

Gyuvin cries the first time he meets their little girl and then for the second time since they've met, he gets on one knee. There's no one in the room but him, Hanbin, and their baby girl. It's intimate and the older male loves it more than the first proposal. He says yes and this time he means it more than anything.

And when it takes them a year to plan their wedding it doesn't matter because their sunshine takes her first steps down the aisle running to her papa and it all just feels right. If you told Hanbin on the last day of last year that this was his future, he would have probably said not to get his hopes up.

Yet apparently he had been superman in his past life to have met and been loved by the man that is Kim Gyuvin. Sometimes Hanbin loves to sit on the sofa and watch as Gyuvin reads a book to their girl, braids her hair, or lets her do his makeup. In that moment he can't help but thank his lucky stars that Gyuvin hadn't given up on him.

He had the life he dreamed of with the people of his dreams.

And sometimes he just thanks Gyuvin’s sperm for deciding to actually be useful right when he needed it to.
