It was a regular morning for Shelly. She just finished eating her breakfast, pancakes with syrup and whipped cream Sprout made for everyone. It was sweet as it always is, but she couldn't get that bitter feeling out of her mouth. With Astro and Vee spending all the time they have together, Sprout baking his sadness away, Tisha being busy cleaning rooms, and whatever Dandy's doing; she hasn't really gotten to spend much time with her friends. Shelly heard knocking on her door, and found Dandy on the other side when she opened it. "Oh hey Dandy! What's up?" "Remember Shelly, today the Halloween Toons come back, so let's get the place ready for their arrival! See ya in the lobby!" Dandy reminded her, walking away from the Toon Rooms. At least it was something different to do for Shelly. So she went to the lobby where the other mains were to decorate.
As Shelly entered the room, she heard the mains say their hellos which felt nice. They spent the hour before the doors opened putting cobwebs, pumpkins, and fake bats around the place. "Alright gang! The place really looks scary now, perfect for our Halloween friends." announced Dandy. Astro sighed in relief that they were done. A little ding had came out of Vee. "All right, according to my calculations... it should be 5 minutes before the trains bring the kids here." Sprout grumbles "I'm gonna go look at the clock guy, whatever his name is.." and shambles his way over to his face. "Wow, it's Dyle. Guess I'm lost media in real life.." said Dyle ironically. "Yep, looks like the trains are coming in about... now." He pulled some lever and the toons heard the trains coming. They knew it was go time. Families burst out of the trains excited to see the Toons and learn stuff. The lights dimmed and Co-founder Arthur Walton walked to that one tree with a microphone in his hand and a spotlight following him. "Alright everybody, we've got some special toons staying here for a while! Please welcome, the Halloween Toons!!" An elevator opened showing the 4 Halloween Toons; Ribecca, Soulvester, Eclipse, and Gourdy walking over to the stage. Arthur then walked away to a staff-only room. "Let's have some fun!" Gourdy screamed, telling the kids to follow him to the Halloween Floor.
"Heya you guys! How's it been?" Dandy asked. "Fine I guess.. Nice to see you all again." Ribecca said. "Sprout. Have you been protecting the place since I was gone?" Soulvester said starting right at him. Sprout hesitated. "I guess.. I'm gonna go bake stuff.." He shambled away to go to the kitchen. Eclipse was beaming with joy to see everyone. "Hey guys, wanna go to the haunted house? There's lot of treats in there!" They all accepted the offer and they went down to the floor. (Anything but educating children atp) At the Halloween floor, there were lots of children hide and seek with Gourdy. They walked past and observed the haunted house's spooky mechanisms (such as a ghost popping up and nearly sending Astro to the stars above) and the photos of the people who owned the manor. "OooOOoOooooo Spooky..." Vee deadpanned. Shelly liked spending time with everyone, but unfortunately had to dust up the museum. "Well this has been fun hanging with you guys, but I gotta go to my attraction, See ya guys!"
At the museum, barely anyone was there. This wasn't unexpected as people would rather go bake with Sprout, do space stuff with Astro, meet the star of the show Dandy, or they would especially like going to the gameshow. Some Toons have joked to Shelly that "they don't really need you since Vee's show had a dinosaur part on the wheel". She always laughed it off since that was the polite thing to do, but that always hurt her feelings. She borrowed Tisha's spare feather duster and began dusting the dinosaur "skeletons". She only had 1 left, the Tyrannosaurus Rex. She gulped. This skeleton was very high up and would definitely be hard to dust. She found a tall ladder and set it up (somehow) and climbed up it. It wasn't too hard cleaning it, but suddenly the ladder started shaking and Shelly lost her grip and started falling. At that point, she accepted her fate, knowing it was over. Suddenly, she stopped falling and heard some metal clank. She opened her eyes and saw Soulvester holding her up from the ground. He then put Shelly back down on the ground while the people that saw started cheering. "Y-You saved my life! Thank you so much!" she said, going to hugging him. Soulvester chuckled, "No problem, Shelly, for 'tis my duty to aid Toons in need." Shelly was very thankful to Soulvester but embarrassed she almost died.
Later at lunch, Tisha was talking about what happened. "So you got saved by Soulvester, kinda like a princess huh?" Shelly laughed. "Yeah Yeah.. I was kind of saved like a princess.." Sprout walked over to their table with some drinks dejectedly. "How's the food you two." Shelly responded "It's as great as usual!" Sprout walked away almost like a zombie. "I hope he's feeling better soon.." Tisha said. Gourdy dashed over to the two with gleaming eyes. "Ms. Fossilian! Did Soulvester actually save you!!" He jumped around with glee. Shelly gulped, "Yeah he did save me.." "That's why Soulvester's the BEST!" Gourdy was skipping around the place, bumping into tables. Tisha's face molded into a grin. "Y'know Shelly.. Kinda sounds like you two had a 'meet-cute'.." she kidded. Shelly blushed a bit. "Hahaha, very funny. I'm gonna go, see ya later Tish'." Shelly hadn't really thought of Soulvester like that before, but with Tisha's comments she started daydreaming about it... Having a nice and happy life with him.. until she bumped into someone, and surprise it was Soulvester! "Hello Shelly, are you doing alright?" Shelly laughed awkwardly. "Yeppers, I'm gonna go, you snack- I MEAN uh.. Bye!" She sprinted back to her room. "How could I say that?" she thought. "Now way he'd ever like me.." Until, she had an idea. She went and knocked on Tisha's door. "What is it Shelly?" Tisha asked. "Could you help me do a makeover? I want to impress someone.."
Tisha shrieked in excitement. "Stay right here Shelly, Don't move! I'm gonna get some Toons to help." Shelly stayed in Tisha's room for what felt like a while. It was very clean and light blue, thought it kind of felt like a janitor closet with how much cleaning products there were. Tisha came back with Vee, Glisten, and Ribecca. "Heya Shells." Vee said. "Tisha told us about what you want to do and.. We're all in." After hours (i cant describe for the life of me), Shelly came out with a pretty dress with dinosaur fossil patterns Ribecca had sewn for her, some dark blue eyeshadow applied by Glisten. Shelly looked in the mirror (or Glisten's face) at how she looked. "Wow, I look.. AMAZING! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!" she shrieked happily. "Heh, no problem cause I'm the master of helping Toons look good for stuff." Glisten smirked. Ribecca bumped Glisten's shoulder. "Go get him, girl." Shelly walked out happily. Tonight, the toons were having a private party to celebrate the Halloween Toons coming back so she knew that was her chance.
Later, she saw Soulvester and Gourdy playing catch together almost like father and son. She found it pretty cute that Soulvester had a 'sensitive' side. "Hey Soulvester! Can I talk to you for a second?" she shouted. Soulvester heard what she said, did a "stay there" hand gesture to Gourdy and dashed over to her. "Hello Shelly, thou look lovely today. What did you want to talk to me about?" Shelly replied "Thank you, and I, uh, wanted to ask if you'd like to go to that party with me?" Soulvester's unreadable expression seemed to soften into what Shelly assumed was a smile. "Sure, I'll accompany thee to the party. See you later, Shelly." He then walked away with Gourdy trailing behind him. Shelly felt pterodactyls in her stomach. He actually said yes. "Tisha he said Yes!" she yelled, practically slamming Tisha's door open. "Oh My Gosh, Congrats!" Tisha said. The two danced in circles while holding each others hands. "I gotta go get ready Tish! See ya at the party!" Shelly replied slamming the door closed.
Around the corner however, Shrimpo had overheard all of what they said. "So the little shell brat found a date..." He thought. "I know! I'll spill water on her and her dress, ruining it and making it so Soulvester finds her ugly and unattractive!" It's perfect!" Shrimpo started to cackle maniacally. Rodger looks at Shrimpo pondering, "How fascinating." Around 30 minutes before the party, Shelly decided to walk to her room to get ready one last time. She opened the door and saw Shrimpo holding a pail of water. "Ready to feel how you felt 66 Million years ago?" he said before pouring the whole pail on Shelly. The dress was completely soaked and the eyeshadow was dripping. Shelly starting crying on the floor while Shrimpo catwalked away, proud of what he did. Tisha, Vee, Glisten, and Ribecca went around the corner and saw Shelly crying. "Shelly? What's wrong?!" Tisha questioned Shelly, bringing her up. "The d-dress, S-Shrimpo... he ruined it!" Ribecca put her hands in her pockets and kicked a rock dejectedly. "Darn, I'm sorry Shelly.. I can't make up the dress again this close to the party..." Glisten spoke up "I can redo the eyeshadow if you like, Shelly-" "Save it." Shelly sniffled. "I should face it, Soulvester would never like me. I'm still going to the party... It'll probably at least brighten my mood a bit." Shelly walked back into her room. She put on her regular overall dress thingy and wiped off the eyeshadow that was left.
At the party, it was what you'd expect. Toons laughing and dancing with each other. Cheap punch, and little cookie trays, along with Halloween decorations. Shelly saw Astro and Dandy breaking it down, while Boxten was being spooked by the "realistic decorations". Shelly shambled across the floor, pretending to be happy. Until she bumped into Soulvester. "Hello Shelly, is something wrong?" he asked, noticing her true mood. Shelly started to tear up a little. "It's fine, just something happened with the dress and all, but I'm doing great!" Soulvester's voice softened as he whispered "Follow me" in Shelly's ear-hole thing. Soulvester led Shelly to one of the rooms in the Holloway Manor. "Shelly, I know something's been bugging you, I can tell by your facial expression. You can tell me what's wrong." Tears started to flow from Shelly's eyes. "Well Shrimpo poured water on me and ruined my dress. That... I got to impress you." Soulvester's eyebrow seemed to raise. Shelly continued "I.... I like you Soulvester, and I can't keep this secret for long. But I'm too ugly for you-" Soulvester raised his hand. "You're not ugly Shelly. You never were. In fact.. I like you too." Shelly was shocked. He liked her? "I was nervous that you wouldn't like me as you're amazing, kind, beautiful, and incredibly smart. I felt like I just wouldn't compare." The two looked into each others eyes, gazingly. "Soulvester?" Shelly asked. "Yes?" Soulvester responded. "May we have this moment together?" she breathed. Soulvester took off his helmet and said "I'd love to share this moment with you..".
And then the two kissed. The moment they've been waiting for was here and they spent every moment of it in joy. The two let go of each other and smiled. "I love you." Shelly said. "I love you, too." Soulvester replied. The two went back to the party, feeling much lighter than they had before. Connie teased Soulvester a bit, but was happy her brother found love. Oh, and they beat Shrimpo up multiple times. The End. :D
