Interlude
Cue: Wiz and Boomstick-Brandon Yates
The screen then statics into playing the Death Battle intro.
Wiz: Conquest, the savage Viltrumite from Invincible.
Boomstick: Overlord, the rogue Decepticon of IDW Transformers.
Wiz: The act of subjugating entire worlds is no small task, but these sociopathic killing machines have proven otherwise.
Boomstick: And they’re not doing it for the cause, they’re doing it for the slaughter. He’s Wiz, and I’m Boomstick!
Wiz: And it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win… a Death Battle!
Conquest will Decimate DEATH BATTLE!
Cue: Fight or Flight
Boomstick: Wiz, as cool as superheroes are, I’m glad they don’t actually exist, because imagine being a civilian in one of those cities!
Wiz: Well… there are people that arguably have it worse in that hypothetical scenario, such as…
The Invincible title card appears, interrupting Wiz.
…a.k.a. Mark Grayson, the son of Omni-Man, the greatest hero on Earth, who turns out to be a psycho murderer from an alien race that conquers planets. He demonstrated this by using him as a meat shield to kill hundreds to thousands of innocent lives, and also gave him the worst beating of his life. Up until that point.
Boomstick: Uh… at least his dad got better, right? Mark finally got with Eve, his mother seems to be moving on, and he’s got a little brother who had a rough start, and seems like he's going in the right direction-
Wiz: But then more people shifted the blame to him for the catastrophe that his father caused, his boss backstabbed him, and one of his archnemesis recruited evil variants of himself from different universes to slaughter and decimate the planet.
Boomstick: …goddamn multiverse.
Wiz: The guilt and responsibility was overwhelming. And just when we thought the situation was finally getting under control-
Cue: Most Brutal Dark Rock Music: DARKBREED | by: Robert Slump
Boomstick: SPACE HOGAN PULLS UP AND TEARS MARK A NEW ASSHOLE! DECIMATING ANYTHING IN THEIR PATH WHILE GIVING MARK THE CURB STOMP TO END ALL OF HIS OTHER MOTHERFUCKING CURB STOMPS! Oh right, the alien conquering race plotline… we’re getting back to that.
Cue: Mr. Ten Times Worse
Wiz: The ‘Space Hogan’ in question is the oldest living member of the Viltrum Empire. This is Conquest. Little is known about his real name or past, only that he never fails to assimilate a chosen planet, and Earth was next.
Boomstick: Mark was actually tasked to conquer the Earth since his dad has gotten ‘soft’. So after multiple resistances from Mark, the empire sent in ‘Mr. 10 Times Worse’ as a last resort, which is saying something, given how brutal Viltrumites typically are.
Wiz: As Viltrumites, they are amongst the most powerful beings in the universe, they possess super strength, speed, flight and being able to hold their breath for weeks whilst in the vacuum of space. All thanks to their unique DNA being composed of Smart Atoms.
Boomstick: Which can be manipulated to do comic book bullshit! They’re basically flying bricks. Well, Conquest is more akin to a flying cinder block but-
Wiz: With their sheer levels of power, most Viltrumites would try to reason with their enemies about their vision of building a utopia, rather than doing the job by force. Initially.
Cue: Music for When The Antagonist Prevails - With No Mercy
Boomstick: But for Conquest? That bastard doesn’t care about any of that peaceful nonsense! He wants you to know, he wants you to resist, so that he can have an excuse to break you apart, lavishly. But on this special occasion, he was given no restrictions and he expresses that gratitude by beating the everlasting shit out of him faster than the speed of light!
Wiz: Both of them scale to these Viltrumites, they flew to Viltrum across the Virgo Supercluster in less than 24 hours.
Boomstick: Poor Mark. That’s over 20 Billion times faster than light! Not only is he fast, but thanks to their Smart Atoms, Viltrumites are tough enough to keep fighting while their intestines are ripped out and Conquest was able to withstand a blast from Atom Eve that would’ve broken him apart on an atomic level.
Wiz: Which was done after he nearly killed her. Conquest taunts Mark about how his relationship with Eve, as well as anyone he knows and loves is little more than a weakness. This is actually a shared ideology amongst the Viltrumites and it's their reason on how they persevere for so long.
Boomstick: Mark understandably proceeded to smash Conquest’s head to a bloody pulp where he met his untimely end. But good news, Eve came back to life! Bad news, so did Conquest. Cecil brought him back to life for interrogation. Dick. Wait a minute, if he’s so strong and has a healing factor, why is he still missing that arm?
Wiz: Well, remember when Nolan told Mark how the Viltrumites culled half of their population so that their empire can thrive? Turns out they actually lost even more of them later, 99.9% to be exact.
Boomstick: WAIT WHAT?!
Wiz: One of the many adversaries of the Viltrum Empire managed to find a weapon that finally put them on the back foot. The Scourge Virus.
Boomstick: This virus swept through the Viltrumite population like it was nothing! And you know that ring that you see on their home planet? Those are their corpses!
Wiz: Conquest was infected by the same virus and was lucky enough to survive. However, the after effects of it were still potent as his great strength and durability was temporarily diminished, leaving him vulnerable to the Rognarrs, creatures that even Viltrumites feared.
Boomstick: And that’s the origin story on how he got that Robot Arm! Although he probably isn't as strong as he was in his prime.
Wiz: It’s not just the virus, like most Viltrumites, he can still die from fatal injuries from the heart or brain, and is vulnerable to intense heat and certain levels of sound frequencies can hurt his equilibrium.
Boomstick: Yeah, despite the Viltrimites constantly yapping about the superiority of their race, they’re not unstoppable, and as notorious as Conquest’s reputation is, no one wants to talk to him, or even be near him.
Wiz: His role in the Viltrum Empire is also surprisingly miniscule. The ruler, Grand Regent Thragg, only sees him as a mere lapdog in the grand scheme of things.
Boomstick: Not that it matters, after all Conquest was just a thrill seeking killing machine, there was no way that he would want anything more than that, right?
Wiz: This is another example of the flaws with the Viltrumites ideology. Despite their front, they yearn for the emotional connection just as much as everyone else.
Boomstick: Their persona of being an apathetic killing machine was practically outdated and it's actually something that the remaining Viltrumites eventually moved on from.
Wiz: It just goes to show that even the fiercest warriors aren’t immune to deeper needs. But for Conquest, no amount of emotional longing ever made him less dangerous or relentless, which brings us to just how terrifying his raw power really was. Conquest had the strength to shatter Texas-sized meteors, unleash shockwaves that devastated entire areas, match the three Viltrumites destroying planet Viltrum and even ramming through this Coalition Ship. And that ship was able to destroy this sun disc, which completely blocked out this star.
Boomstick: Ughh… the fucking sun disc that I hate. Anyways, destroying that sun disc with that size would’ve required 22.207 Ronnatons of TNT! With that level of power, can he even be stopped?
Cue: Music for A Defeated Kingdom - Valor is Dead
Wiz: Yes. Eventually he had a rematch against Invincible, and ultimately succumbed to his wound. The rabid daredevil at least went out with a bang, while also giving Mark an excruciating amount of pain trauma, once more.
Boomstick: Jesus Christ, will Mark ever catch a break?
Wiz: Not anytime soon. Despite everything Conquest had done, Nolan still gave him a proper burial. Conquest represents the Viltrumites from a bygone era. Powerful, ruthless, alone, but a warrior nonetheless.
Overlord is Unstoppable in DEATH BATTLE!
Cue:Mekanika (Industrial/Steampunk Music)
Wiz: The Cybertronian civil war. A conflict that was spread across the universe between two factions of the same mechanical beings: the Autobots and the Decepticons.
Boomstick: This war went on for millions of years, and had no signs of stopping, so it came to everyone’s surprise that… it stopped? The Autobots actually won?!
Wiz: Yes, in this continuity at least. What’s more is that the Decepticon leader, Megatron, converted to the Autobots, renounces violence, and told the Decepticons to stand down.
Boomstick: Damn, while the war is officially over, not every bot sees it that way. Which is understandable, because some of his Decepti-buddies did not listen to that peace treaty.
Cue: Overlord | Final Fight Song for Transformers Mercy [OFFICIAL AUDIO]
Wiz: In some cases, literally. This Decepticon in particular was thought to be long dead but heavily guarded within a basement. One of Megatron’s greatest and most powerful failures. Few living things in the known universe can match his level of vitriol and brutality. The Ambassador of Destruction, Overlord.
Popup: The primary source for Overlord is the IDW comics. Any other material will be excluded.
Wiz: Born on the second moon of Cybertron, Overlord is a rare breed known as a "Point One Percenter". A type so rare that only notable Cybertronians like Optimus Prime claimed it.
Boomstick: How special you may ask? During his infancy, Overlord’s spark was so potent, it killed those poor miners just from its first flash! Wait, that came out wrong.
Wiz: Which is why he needed to possess a body that towers over the average Cybertronians. Not only is his size and features irregular, but so are his transformations. Most bots have one alternate mode, Overlord has two, and can split his body in half and use both modes at the same time.
Boomstick: He’s a duo-con! His upper half turns into a Megajet while his lower turns into a Gigatank, later on he was even upgraded to transform into a human politician! Who was also a Karen …
Wiz: Fitting, considering that Overlord is an advocate of gladiatorial combat, and was even a participant before the start of the Cybertronian civil war. Thanks to his abnormal physiology amongst his people, he was practically unstoppable. All except for one.
Boomstick: God damn Megatron. Being the persistent bastard that he is, Megatron was the only obstacle Overlord just could not overcome.
Wiz: Overlord would constantly fight him in these bouts but would lose. Everytime. So much so, that it gave him a pathological fear of defeat that would haunt him for the rest of his life.
Boomstick: But hey, if you can’t beat em, join em! Overlord became a member of the Decepticons upon its founding, but he wasn’t exactly there for the universal domination cause. All he wanted to do was to brutalize as many people as he could. And he had the power and tools he needed to carry it out.
Wiz: As the standard Cybertonian war procedure goes, he uses an Ion Blaster to blast anything in his path, which seemingly never runs out of ammo. He also uses chainswords to cut down foes and… torture them.
Boomstick: He can also fire a barrage of bullets and missiles from his freaking abs! Anyways, he was also trying to find golden opportunities to win a fight against Megatron. And kill him. His reputation was so infamous that bots from both sides shit their pants just from the sight of him.
Wiz: While Overlord’s intentions are rather simple, Megatron saw potential in him, and chose him as a prime candidate for an upgrade that would shift the tide of war in their favor. Transforming into a Phase Sixer.
Cue: MP [Metamorphosis] Tetsuo: The Iron Man -Chu Ishikawa (1989)
Boomstick: This upgrade process is basically the Transformers’ equivalent to Marvel's Weapon X. Even giving them Wolverine’s…
The Invincible title card appears, this time interrupting Boomstick.
Boomstick: …endoskeleton!
Wiz: Overlord was far stronger and more destructive than before. He could solo most of the Autobots without breaking a sweat, could shave an inch off a planet which would’ve required 664 Gigatons of TNT.
Boomstick: His endoskeleton is so tough that he can still fight as a burning skeleton! Seriously, how is this bastard still not beaten Megatron?
Wiz: Turns out, he could’ve. With that upgrade, Megatron knew that he would lose in a fair fight against the upgraded super soldier. So as a safety measure, he had Shockwave install Overlord with a killswitch, and infect him with the Achilles virus. Which caused a "tactical blindspot", preventing him from figuring out how to harm the Decepticon leader.
Boomstick: Dick move, Meggy, dick move. With those restraints, Overlord played a major role in Megatron's plans against the Autobots.
Wiz: However, Overlord wasn’t satisfied and confronted Megatron for being a mere pet, so he was given two options: do as he was told or have Megatron personally hunt him down.
Boomstick: For most Decepticons, this would’ve been the scariest day of their lives. But for him? It was Christmas! Let’s fucking go!
Wiz: Overlord would arrive at a prison known as Garrus-9, defeating the warden, and turning the prison into his new home. He finally got Shockwave to remove the implants from his system, and the Decepticon prisoners welcomed him as their new ruler after he had freed them.
Boomstick: Freed them? More like, under new management! Autobots? Decepticons? Doesn’t matter which side you're on, Overlord doesn’t discriminate. He threw the prisoners into a huge gladiatorial arena to fight to the death in order to achieve their freedom!
Wiz: Unfortunately it was nothing more than false hope, even if a bot succeeded in all 12 bouts, they were offered the choice of facing Overlord himself or ending their own life.
Boomstick: Wow, talk about a cop out? Wait, we’re still talking about Transformers right?
Wiz: That’s not all, Overlord drove the imprisoned Grimlock mad by forcing him to watch those gladiatorial matches. Tortured Fortress Maximus and threatened to kill an Autobot for every second that he was withholding intel. And when the Autobot team known as The Wreckers, basically Transformers’ Thunderbolts, finally came to the aid of the prisoners after so many years of pain and suffering, Overlord had the remaining prisoners executed under his command.
Cue: Transformers Masterforce Soundtrack- Preview
Boomstick: Uhm… Fun fact: Overlord’s first official appearance in the franchise was in a Transformers anime, Super-God Masterforce. In that version, Overlord was a dead human couple piloting a Decepticon mecha whilst being controlled by an evil space wizard!
There was a momentary pause as the music was abruptly cut short
Boomstick: Can we go back to the kids show-
Wiz: Eventually, he was taken down and arrested. Instead of executing him on the spot, one of the Autobots in charge wanted to learn the process of creating Phase Sixers, so that they can create their own in preparation for another civil war. Which was thoroughly backfired as he escaped and killed even more innocent lives. Good job, stupid.
Boomstick: Yeah, the Autobots in the IDW comics aren’t always the good guys here. Both sides have done some nasty, nasty shit. Also Overlord’s a cannibal?!
Wiz: Long story short, one terrible thing led to another, as Overlord would eventually find himself teaming up with Tarn and the Decepticons as they stormed the crew of the Lost Light, and settling the score with their fallen leader once and for all.
Boomstick: When they finally had Megatron cornered, they found that he was doing something no one thought was possible. Megatron was cowering in fear.
Wiz: In that moment, Overlord realised that all of the pain he inflicted, all of the bodycount that he accomplished, just to get the tyrant’s attention was for nothing. He left the battlefield believing that the ruthless Decepticon leader that he had dedicated his entire life to kill in battle, had devolved into a pathetic coward. A shell of his former self.
Boomstick: But in reality, Megatron had actually gotten further back to his true self, the one that started the civil war with noble intentions. Because despite them being alien robots that have battled for millions of years, they’re still people. People with hopes, dreams, connections, pain and loss.
Wiz: Over the course of his journey with the Crew of The Lost Light co-led by Rodimus Prime, Megatron had evolved into a far greater individual. Someone who advocates for peace and prosperity for Cybertron along with the known universe, without resorting to gratuitous violence and destruction in its wake. A mark that Megatron left behind, and in some ways, what Overlord represents.
Boomstick: What a profound character arc. Anyways, what was Overlord’s solution to satisfy his desire to kill the old Megatron? Why, to travel back in time and kill the old Megatron, of course! Which would’ve messed up the Transformers space time continuum! As if it wasn’t messier than it already was.
Wiz: Luckily, a member of the Wreckers: Springer and his human companion Verity formed an unexpected alliance with a Decepticon: Carnivac, used the time machine to their advantage as they sent Overlord’s halved bodies into the distant future, and the distant past. Using his obsession against himself. In fact, the main reason why Overlord was defeated on Garrus-9 to begin with where Verity lied about Megatron’s death, convincing Overlord to give up.
Boomstick: What a fitting end to this murder machine, but we better hope it stays that way because he came back from the dead more than once, he may do it again. Hopefully this half psychologist, half sadistic, mechanical demon, stays offline.
Prelude
Wiz: Alright, the combatants are set. We've run the data through all possibilities.
Boomstick: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLEEE!!!
DEATH BATTLE!
Cue: Resident Evil 3: Nemesis OST - Watch Your Back
The scene opens with a skyscraper exploding as it collapses onto a heavily populated city. Vehicles and buildings were wrecked, civilians ran in distraught, several corpses of Autobots and Decepticons can be seen.
Amidst the chaos, a small car tries to make a getaway, but crashes into a metal object. Overlord’s foot. It lifts up and stomps onto the vehicle repeatedly, reducing into red mush. Not long after, Conquest can be seen floating in the air as he hovers several feet away from the Decepticon.
Conquest: Not bad.
Overlord: Ditto. But what brings you here to this fragile excuse of a planet?
Conquest: Well… another Viltrum soldier would’ve told you that we’re spreading the greatness of our Empire, and how stupid it is to resist.
Conquest landed onto the broken road.
Conquest: But I’ll cut to the chase. I heard there’s a Decepticon remnant gone mad, obsessed with killing their fallen leader, and has been causing a ruckus whilst hiding in these parts.
Overlord only stared, the grin on his face remained unchanged.
Conquest: Someone had to clean up his mess by any means necessary, which is why they sent me. I am Conquest… and I prefer to know who I’m dismembering.
Overlord kicks away the blood soaked car to the far left before he breaks into laughter after hearing the threat.
Overlord: I’m Overlord. Hi.
Cue: Stand Ready by Brandon Yates
Without another word the two soldiers clashed causing a shockwave that further decimated the city. Both clenched their fists and headbutted at the same time sending them flying backwards.
Overlord: I'll admit. Compared to the other flesh creatures, you’re not awful.
Overlord pulls out his rifle and shoots the Viltrum soldier only for him to weave the shots effortlessly and smacks the Decepticon with his own weapon. Both soldiers would land more solid blows on each other before Overlord fired missiles from his upper body knocking Conquest into the air, who remained undeterred.
Conquest: If this is how you’re starting off, then it's not going to end well for you.
Overlord follows up with a barrage of bullets and missiles that Conquest uses his speed to maneuver around. Finally closing in, Overlord dodged the aerial assault by bisecting his own body and switched into his alt modes: Giga Tank and Mega Jet. Taken aback, Conquest was met with even more ammunition and he used the three nearby civilians as meat shields and threw their shredded corpses onto Overlord, blindsided him and tackled him into multiple skyscrapers.
Whilst being tackled, Overlord shot his tank rounds onto Conquest’s face, merely grazing him. He blocks the tank rifle with his metal arm, resulting in the missile exploding Overlord inwards and sending him flying to the opposite side of the city. Conquest chased it but the vehicle was nowhere to be seen.
Conquest: Seriously? I thought I found a Cybertronian where I can finally cut loose. But just like the rest, you’re hiding in wheels?
From above, the Mega Jet can be seen dropping off several objects onto Conquest. Anti-personal mines, as it screams in horror. Conquest was momentarily surprised by the contraptions before detonation.
Overlord: I strategize, I don’t hide.
Briefly knocking wind of Conquest, Overlord formed back to his robot mode and used this opportunity to cut him apart with his chainswords. The swords manage to cut into the Viltrum soldiers’ flesh.
Conquest: YES. Very good!
Overlord: Glad to help! So can I have your entrails in return?
Conquest's Smart Atoms were quick to adapt, halting and destroying the swords. The two proceeded to trade blows through fisticuffs, but Conquest gained the upper hand overtime as he pinned Overlord’s left leg to the ground with a broken metal sign. The savage Viltrumite starts thrashing Overlord repeatedly, each blow accelerated in both speed and ferocity, refusing to give Overlord a chance to react, resulting in many of his mechanical parts coming off revealing some of his skeleton and purple blood covering the screen. The beatdown finally comes to a halt as the Viltrum soldier impales the Decepticon’s guts with his metal arm. Overlord finally dropped down to his knees and coughs blood, seemingly defeated. Whilst impaled, Conquest whispers to his ear for the gratitude he felt during the battle.
Conquest: I want to apologize, and thank you Overlord. No really, from the bottom of my heart, no one really gets it but you do. You get it. Soldiers like you and I get sent to slaughter millions of lives all for what? We don’t get any reward from it. Not even our people see us as one of their own. Hell, we don’t even get a real name only a purpo-
Out of rage and utter disgust, Overlord jolted and lunged his hand onto Conquest’s mouth, cutting off the Viltrumite’s confession.
Overlord: Aww, the mighty Conquest is sad because he's lonely… There is no we. I don’t follow orders anymore. I don’t care about personal connections. Unlike me, you're nothing more than a scared little pet… And sad that no one’s going to miss you when you’re gone. Because I know for a fact… that I won’t.
Overlord grips Conquest’s other arm that is impaling him, making sure he doesn’t escape as he fires all of his ammunition from his upper half onto the Viltrumite. But half of the bullets and missiles spewed everywhere. Harming both in the process, as they screamed in pain and anger, the city burst into flames. Overlord emerges as a burning skeleton with an arm missing, barely being able to walk.
Conquest: For the record… I take the good with the bad.
Conquest survived as well with burnt skin, far less damage by comparison. Much to Overlord’s dismay, he lunged at Conquest out of rage with a punch but his remaining arm broke apart upon impact. Immediately followed up with Conquest chopping off Overlord’s legs. The machine panics and attempts to crawl away.
Conquest: But you’re not coming back after that…
Overlord: Wait… Not like this! Not by the likes of you! Not before I kil-
Conquest’s foot was pressed onto the Decepticon burning body.
Conquest: Megatron’s already dead. You fool.
With one final scream, Overlord's chest is stomped, destroying his spark, and his body explodes from the inside out with energon. Eliminating the vile Decepticon once and for all, leaving Conquest alone in the burning desolated city.
KO!

Cue:MGR: Revengeance Vocal Tracks - The Hot Wind Blowing (feat. Ferry Corsten) [Instrumental]
Boomstick: Again? Why do these Decepticons keep having the worst luck on this show, Wiz?
Wiz: Both soldiers seemed unstoppable in combat, but only one of them had the means to take the other out permanently.
Boomstick: Overlord is likely smarter. Given that he has millions of years of combat experience while Conquest has thousands.
Wiz: And as a Phase Sixer, he has a much wider arsenal and forms that would keep the Viltrumite at bay, especially at range.
Boomstick: Sadly, while he has the clear edge in those categories, they weren’t really much of a factor in giving him the win.
Wiz: Both of their fighting styles and strategies are very similar, but Overlord’s kit just isn't anything new for Conquest to handle, so it really came down to physical stats.
Boomstick: Overlord could shave an inch of a planet, while Conquest had the power to destroy an entire planet! Both could cross galaxies, but Conquest is clearly much faster.
Wiz: Comparing their durability is a little bit more nuance. While Overlord could still fight as a burning skeleton, he was still very much vulnerable.
Boomstick: In contrast, Conquest being able to resist an unrestrained blast from Atom Eve far exceeds anything Overlord could dish out or survive.
Wiz: Sure, his in… destructible endoskeleton is no joke, but fellow Phase-Sixers like Sixshot had his armor broken by Optimus Prime. So it should stand to no question that Conquest wouldn’t have any issues overcoming it. Plus even if it was tougher, Smart Atoms are known for being able to adapt or power through physically superior opponents.
Boomstick: Some will think that this Decepticon was robbed of a win, but from the get go it was already over, lord?
Wiz: The winner is Conquest.
