Chapter Text
Kim Dokja opened his eyes as the surrounding gradually came to him he felt a nauseating pain in his head, his back his eyes his legs, and every body part you can ever think of
He groaned as he sat up even thought he knew he shouldn't, This must be the punishment for failing the sub scenario

[FLASHBACK]
[Hidden Scenario unlocked!]
‘Huh?’
Category: Hidden
Difficulty: F
Clear conditions: Prove your faith in your companions! Don’t sacrifice yourself for a week!
Time limit: One week
Reward: 5,000 coins
Penalty for failure: ???
Kim Dokja looks around, it seems he’s the only one who got this scenario. ‘It seems easy enough. The 8th main scenario is about to start, so earning some extra coins wouldn't be so bad’
‘The others don’t have to know about it, and besides, what could go wrong? I have a plan fully mapped out for the next week’
Oh how wrong he was, he had to sacrifice himself during the 8th main scenario. It’s not even his fault when you really think about it! That scenario only appeared once in TWSA!
[END FLASHBACK]
—
Dokja puts his hand on his forehead, it's warm… He takes a thermometer from his drawer and checks his temperature…Beep! [39.2] (around 102.52 F) Kim Dokja stares at the temperature for a second. This doesn't make any sense. The 8th main scenario has been long finished. Why does it have to be now! They just made it to the 9th scenario, reunited with Jung Heewon and he decided to rest before going to find hidden items. Is it even within [Star Stream's] rules to give a penalty this late!?!

The last thing he saw before passing out was the door opening

“Damn it.”
Han Sooyoung had just gone to check on Dokja because they were supposed to be clearing hidden scenarios today and no one had seen him all day.
It was NOT in her plan to be taking care of a sick Dokja.
‘Seriously! Isn't this his boyfriend's job!?’
Honestly she should just leave
Why wouldn’t she?
Before you think it's some noble ideology of her wanting to make sure her friend was ok because he was more valuable then some items. No. It's because she doesn't know where a lot of the hidden pieces are, having only read 99 chapters. Lets be honest Han Sooyoung wasn't even really paying attention to most of it. (It's not her fault! The novel was boring!) So Dokja was her only hope of getting good items.
Damn it. Screw this.
Sooyoung looks around the room with clear purpose. Until she finds a piece of paper in Dokja’s bedside drawer
Jackpot!
Knowing Dokja he wouldn’t leave it up to chance so he must have written down the places somewhere.
Ok! She has the places of the hidden objects, a super nice car that she WILL be driving with glasses on because you never know when the hidden cameras are watching you know, and a growing urge to leave.
She pokes Kim Dokja’s face lightly, lighter than she normally would have mostly because he's sick.
Also….
What the fuck is up with his face???
It's like… different! She can't describe it into words but it's like…..un-blurry? Of course she would never say this to his face but he seems ...less ugly than usual…
“He’s messing with my head and he’s passed out…what's wrong with me?”
Han Sooyoung takes the list, keys and leaves the room.
'He’ll be fine’
—
Kim Dokja gradually opens his eyes. It's dark, probably nighttime already. His body feels like it weighs twice what he can carry but he pushes through sitting up and checking his unread messages. There mostly bs from the constellations but one of Uriel’s catches his eyes.
[ The Constellation ‘Demon like Judge of Fire’ Calls out to Incarnation Yoo Joonghyuk to take care of his companion]
‘What?’
His face flushes slightly (probably due to the fever that is making his head feel heavy)
It was a nice thought but still just a dream. Joonghyuk nursing him to health? Please he’d believe that when pigs fly (can pigs fly in the apocalypse?).
‘The only people Joonghyuk would do that to are Lee Seolhwa and Yoo Mia.’
And besides, no one has ever taken care of him while he was sick and most definitely won’t start now. Even though he may have companions now, that was due to his own selfish desire he shouldn't ask for more than he deserves when he already has been greedy.
[You have some unread messages in ‘Midday Tryst’]
‘Huh?’
[Kim Dokja what is this bullshit that Uriel is saying]
[Kim Dokja answer me]
[Kim Dokja]
[I’m going to kill you]
[Kim Dokja if you don’t answer me by the time I get there]
Kim Dokja broke out into a cold sweat. He had ignored Joonghyuk (by accident but he still did!) He was so dead. He wanted to say that he was sorry, he wanted to say that he was fine, that everything was ok, and Uriel was exaggerating it. But what he actually wrote was…
[Aw. Joonghyuk-ah are you worried about me?]
Why did he write that??? If he wasn’t going to die before he sure as hell is now.
Sigh.
‘If I die in the next hour, Bihyung distribute my coins between my children evenly’
—
Normally, he would have just ignored the messages Constellations sent especially Uriel, who was acting much differently then in his previous regressions but something in her message still caught his eye.
[ The Constellation ‘Demon like Judge of Fire’ Calls out to Incarnation Yoo Joonghyuk to take care of his companion]
‘What has that fool gotten into this time?’
Kim Dokja was an anomaly he never saw coming. He wasn’t in the previous regressions and most likely won’t be in his next ones. Though he was an idiot, A stupid stupid fool, and though he did things he would never have thought of doing, though his knowledge didn’t match his persona of ‘a prophet’, and though he lied, and died constantly, he couldn't bring himself to not be drawn to him. He was necessary to save the world. And he knew that he needed him.
So you can imagine that he was a bit worried….NOT TOO much don't get the wrong idea!
[Incarnation ‘Yoo Joonghyuk’ has activated the item ‘Midday Tryst’]
A quick check wouldn’t hurt right?
[Kim Dokja what is this bullshit that Uriel is saying]
No response
[Kim Dokja answer me]
Nothing
[Kim Dokja]
Radio Silence. Now Joonghyuk was a bit more worried than before.
[I’m going to kill you]
Kim Dokja usually replies faster when he says this and he doesn't really mean it but….
Why has he still not answered?
[Kim Dokja if you don’t answer me by the time I get there]
Joonghyuk turns around. Something’s wrong.
‘I guess I have a bit of time if I go now’
