Chapter Text
The day is rising, the sun gleamed over the hills of Enchanted Kingdom. The light shined through the balcony windows of the youngest princess of the Grimwood's family, who was scrunched up in her sheets after a late night reading.
Then sounds of a marimba being played on the door came, Agatha groaned since it was the one person who would knock on her door so bright and early.
"Aggie! Wake up, it finally here!" Her sister Sophie beamed with joy was still in nightgown, her and Sophie's rooms were right next to eachother so Agatha would doubt Sophie will let the day light go to waste.
Sophie ran up to Agatha's bed and jumped on her blankets and pillows and hugged her sister with a tight squeeze, "Happy Birthday dear sister!" Sophie smiled was bright and joyful,
Agatha tugged the blankets over her eyes hiding from the shining sun, "Sophie it's too early for this" Agatha groaned under the sheets,
Sophie stood up from the bed and grabbed onto the blanket covering her sister and tried to yank away, but Agatha grip held tighter as Sophie was beginning to start a tug of war, "Aggie! Come on, the party is tonight, but the girls will be here in 4 hours!" She finally pulled the blanket off the bed to reveal her sister in her light blue nightgown covering her eyes with her palms,
Sophie leaned on the side of the bed trying to shake sister, "Aggie, please! Kiko and Jules are coming" Agatha let out a side glance from her cover face,
Sophie gave her the puppy eyes that not even their father could resist, her sister groaned again, "Fine, I'll get up" she gave in,
Sophie returned her joyful smile to her face and hugged her sister tightly again before she left just in time for the maids arrived to her aid. Three maids walked in, one had the gown for the day, the other had the box of shoes, and the last maid had the make up and jewels, along came her governess.
Her brunette hair was in a tight bun, and the uniform was black with white lacing, and her face was at a calm and gentle rest, "Good morning, Miss, I see her highness has already left her chambers"
The governess looked at the blankets and pillows on the carpet, Agatha chuckled "Yes, you just saw her leave"
Her governess smiled, "Well today is the final day you'll be needing me to help you Miss, it is your 18th birthday and it's time your efforts haven't gone to waste",
Agatha always had trouble with the events, her dancing was off and her talents don't really include anything lady-like, unless a women is allowed to wield a sword.
"I promise you Mrs Grant, that I've practiced the 3 dances enough to remember to correct movements" Agatha gave her cheery smile.
"Well then let's get you ready, your friends are arriving soon and we wouldn't want them to wait, let's make haste so the preparations are ready" Mrs Grant clapped her hands signaling the maids to get Agatha ready,
The first step was bath time, Agatha sat in the warm bath, getting scrubbed clean for the morning, next was picking out the outfit,
Her maids showed her two options, a dark blue dress with ruffles and her corset was decorated with a golden lining and design, the other dress a golden and the sleeves were puffy and the threading design was in white. Agatha chose the first one,
To match the dress she decided to let her hair out and be put into soft wavy curls, the maid placed on a crown that was designed like roses, that matched her ruby pendant.
Agatha thanked the maids and the governess and sent them off for the preparations, she spun around to look at herself in the mirror, Agatha always felt sick for events but for this one it was time she let herself try promenade with the people.

3 hours later:
The preparations are soon to be complete and the ladies are just arriving in the courtyard, Sophie and Agatha waited for them by the steps of the palace waving them over, first it was Duchess Beatrix of Jaunt Jolie, next was Crowned Princess Reena of Pasha Dunes, then was Lady Kiko of Neverland, the next two were Baroness Millicent of Maidenvale and Countess Jules of Maidenvale.
"Girls! You've finally made it!" Sophie hugged Beatrix with joy then moved onto the other girls, Agatha stood awkwardly to the side, she couldn't stand affection but if it's her sister or her father then she doesn't mind,
"Well since the party isn't for another 2 hours let's head to the garden" Sophie led the way while Agatha stood behind the crowd with Kiko linking arming with her,
"So will you find a suitor at this ball, you know that from this day forward you are on the marriage mart" Kiko smiled, the girls in the group were already off the shelf and on with their business with their husband's.
Agatha awkwardly chuckled, she definitely knows no man would ever pick her to be their wife but Agatha wouldn't let it get her down.
The gardens were in full bloom, the roses and lilacs scents were in the air, it helps calm Agatha's mind when she's is nature, the butterflies still began to form,
Kiko and Jules sat on a separate table from Sophie's, Beatrix and the others were her friends not Agatha's, Jules hair was golden blonde, and her eyed were a chocolate brown, her dress a warm and yellow meanwhile, Kiko's was light green and her corset had a flower pattern.
"So Agatha anyone you wanna dance with tonight?" She glanced over to Agatha who was sitting quietly staring at her tea that was getting cold, "Aggie?",
Agatha snapped out of her trance and saw their looks, "Oh yeah, I don't know maybe Lord Nicholas?" Kiko snorted that she almost spat out her tea,
"Wait what?, Agatha no no no, Lord Nicholas is a cheat and snob and you know that" Jules glanced towards Kiko,
"Yes but his family is rich and wealthy"
"Unless spending money on multiple mistresses is good for their reputation, didn't you hear that in the gossip column last season?" Jules face went red embarrassment,
"Uh, I think I missed that issue since father forbid me to read it" Kiko and Agatha tilted their heads with confusion, Jules was the number one gossipers, if something happened she would spread it to the other ladies within seconds.
"Well then how about Prince Gregor?" Kiko gave her a embarrassed look,
"Aggie, gossip spread around the ton that he is not into the marriage mart, and nor ever will be" Kiko pull out a gossip column on the spread about the news and showed it to them,
Jules and Agatha leaned in and read the paragraph about Gregor, "When did this get published?" Jules asked,
"Last month, I think people forgot about it since he stopped attending these events, even the debut ball at Jaunt Jolie" Agatha nodded and understood,
"So then who is available this season?" Agatha reminded Kiko, Jules and Kiko both went into a thinking moment,
"Well there is, Viscount Reed, Lord Grim, Lord Ravan, Earl Hort, Prince Tarquin, King Chaddick and Prince Tedros is what I would think is best" Jules looked at Kiko with another confused expression,
"Wait since when was Prince Tedros on the table, I thought he was engaged to Fallon of Bloodbrook?" Kiko rolled her eyes,
"Seriously is no one on the gossip carriage?" She sighed "That news was a lie created by Fallon herself, she thought if she could cause a scandal with Tedros they would be forced to be wed, but it didn't work and King Chaddick was his witness to his brothers engagements in businesses ",
Jules sighed with relief, "Because we know we'll enough with Prince Tedros no one can get him from the marriage mart, he and his brother are very cautious since everything happened with their Father",
King Arthur was a man who married the most beautiful Princess in the world, from his eyes she was perfect, but after awhile their marriage began to slip away, Chaddick was born from a concubine while Tedros was born from his wife, just that Chaddick was conceived quicker.
Arthur had his two heirs just that the oldest would be the King, so since Prince Tedros wasn't gonna be Crowned King he became the Crowned Prince. But at a young age his mother Arthur's wife Guinevere fell into a scandal with his Captain of the royal guards Lancelot,
Since Arthur was furious about his close friend and captain of his knights was earning Guinevere's heart, he thought it best to duel him for his life and win his wife back.
But in the end Arthur was the one to fall in the battle arena, that's when Tedros and Chaddick lost their father at the age of 6.
Guinevere was kept in the palace to raise Tedros but Tedros didn't want her affection, neither did he want the affection from a Knight who stole his mother away from him. Guinevere eventually married Lancelot and birthed a son 3 years after the fatal day.
"So that's a no on Prince Tedros" Jules reminded Kiko, Kiko sighed and leaned back in her seat and snacked on the cookies,
"Well then I don't know what to say girls, but these options are the best ones" Agatha sipped her tea and glanced over to her sister who was enjoying her time,
"What if-" Agatha thought about it more, that absolutely no one would ever go for her "What if there is really no one at the ball who would pick me?",
Jules and Kiko glanced at her direction, no one for her, there has to be aleast someone, "Agatha don't say that" Kiko began to feel worried that Agatha will be left a spinster.
"No, I will not let you be a spinster on my watch okay" Jule said firmly, "If you get stuck to the wall tonight then me and Kiko will help you with suitors" Agatha watched as Kiko nodded with her,
"And if no one picks you then-" Kiko paused, and realized if no one picked her then she will be the talk of the ton and re-labeled "The Un-Wed Princess",
"On second thought we will find someone for you" Agatha began to feel greatful that she has two friends who will be there for her.
"Thanks girls" Agatha hugged them a little bit, then the three went on and continued their chat before the night was about to arrive.
