Chapter One - The Red Warrior’s Return
Steven rushed past the others into the bathroom, his stomach twisted with horror and regret. The gems called out for him but he could barely hear them through his own drumming heart. It’s not like he wanted to anyways.
The door slammed behind him. He needed to fix this NOW. He turned on the bath faucet and rushed toward the cabinet. Steven flinched away from his own face, swinging open the cabinet to grab the other diamonds ‘healing essence’. He couldn’t look at himself after what he had done, he just needed to fix it. He tossed the bottles into the water, the water splashing back almost mockingly. He took a deep breath, unclenching his hand to reveal the shattered remains of Jasper. The shards poked into his hands like an unspoken anger.
Rearranging the shards best he could, Steven plunged his hands into the bath, keeping her gem as in shape as possible in the rippling water.
“Please.” Steven begged silently, tears streaming down his scrunched nose. Soon enough, light beamed through the Diamond painted water and he opened his eyes.
Steven stepped back as Jasper slowly took shape, his eyes wide with fear and hope. She came back in a stance of defense, flinching before coming to her senses.
Jasper’s hair was rugged and blonde, her patterns broke apart in ways they hadn’t before. Her corruption scars were bigger along with her horns and the old golden tips on her tusks were replaced with sharper points. The two locked eyes and Steven noticed something that made his stomach churn.
The yellow diamond that sat on her chest was now replaced with a glistening pink one.
“I salute you.”
He stepped back in horror.
Jasper plunged into a kneel.
”My Diamond.”
