The Waiting Room

Summary:

A kewl poem I made a lil while ago that I had no where to post if you couldn’t tell this idea came to me when I felt like I was doing nothing with my life

Work Text:

I sat beside the windowpane,
And watched the world go by
The sun would rise, the sun would set,
While I just wondered why.

I dreamed of ships with silver sails,
Of mountains crowned in snow,
But every path seemed steep and dark,
And I was scared to go.

They told me, “Leap, the net will come,”
But still I stayed in place
Afraid to fail, afraid to fall,
Afraid to show my face.

The days turned months, the months turned years,
I spun my quiet thread,
And stitched a life of silent fear
Inside my hollow head.

My goals hung high like distant stars,
Too far, too bright to reach
So I became a student of
What no one dares to teach:

How dreams will rot if left too long,
How courage fades with time,
How clocks don’t wait for trembling hands
Afraid to start the climb.

I thought that life would one day start
A knock, a sign, a cue
But now the only thing I hear
Is time, just passing through.

So if you stand where I once stood,
Still waiting for the “when”…
Begin. Before the silence grows.
Begin. Or wish again.
