Chapter Text

It was past midnight. Cameron hasn't gone to bed yet. He had no reason to go to bed. Why sleep at a proper time when you have no important plans the next day let alone work?

Cameron had been scrolling through social media platforms the last couple hours. It's pretty easy to get hooked on the web, no wonder so many kids are into this crap.

Though, he was barely checking anything out anymore, he's only doom scrolling now, to the point his eyes started to get dry. Should he take a break? Probably.

Cameron started to feel snacky.

"Snacks... Me want snacks..."

He got off his chair and walked sluggishly.

Cameron didn't bother to turn the lights on. He'd rather get something to eat than do a task as simple as turning on the lights; he was in the dark while on his journey to the fridge. Pretty impressive. Wait, aren't I supposed to narrate the story?

"Why hello there beautiful..."

And lo and behold, he was next to the fridge and anticipating to eat the delicious food within it. He opened it, and it's usually what you would expect to see inside of a fridge. Milk, eggs, vegetables, and so on. Oh yeah, there's also tons of energy drinks. Forget to mention that.

Cameron thought about making himself a sandwich. He grabbed a pickle jar, mayonnaise, ham, lettuce, and most importantly, a loaf of bread. He sets them all on the counter, and then cracks his knuckles.

"All right, now let us begin."

Cameron organized of the ingredients accordingly. He laid the two slices of bread next to each other. He also made sure the condiments were behind the two slices and were put in order.

First up was the mayonnaise. He squeezed and drizzled the mayo on the bread as cleanly as he could.

Next up was the ham. He lays a slice of it on top of the mayo.

Also next was the lettuce. He grabbed some from the bag and gently placed them on.

Last, but not least, the pickles. He couldn't open the godforsaken jar the last time he tried to do it, but he believes he can do it this time.

Cameron puts his hands on the jar and twists the lid. Unfortunately, he didn't stand a chance against the jar. He attempts multiple times before thinking of another method.

"Hmm... Maybe I can get a washcloth?"

Cameron grabs a washcloth next to the sink and attempts to open it again. Still, no luck. The more he tries, the more furious he gets.

"UGH! How else am I supposed to open this stupid jar!?"

Cameron threw the jar to the wall with rage. Glass scattered and liquid splashed everywhere. Cameron regrets what he has done.

"Oh shit."

He would then hear footsteps coming from upstairs.

"Oh shit...!"

Every step made him feel a chill down his spine. He felt punishment coming his way. He KNEW punishment would come his way. He fell to his knees as the steps got louder; he has accepted his fate.

"What happened...?"

"I'm sor- Wait, Charlie?" Said Cameron.

Charles turns on the lights and sees a huge mess made on the floor.

"Holy crap, what happened?" Charles cried.

"I- um, I can explain!" Stuttered Cameron, "You see, I was hungry, so I went down to make myself a sandwich, but-"

"Calm down, Cam." Said Charles, "Gee, you can be so reckless, and that's coming from me."

"I mean, I can improve!"

"You're not wrong."

Cameron grabs Charles by the hand. Cameron knew Charles was forgiving enough to well, forgive him for breaking the jar and making a huge mess.

"And don't worry, I'll buy some new gherkins at All-Mart." Informed Charles.

"I didn't wake up AJ, did I?" Worried Cameron.

"Who knows? Let's just go to bed."

Don't treat me like a child... Thought Cameron.

"Yeah, right."
