The room was dark and silent. All that could be heard were soft breaths as Yeonwoo and Jinhyuk laid together in bed. Slowly and softly, Yeonwoo began to trace his fingers along Jinhyuk’s face, from his brows to his nose, to his cheeks, like he was committing this image to his memory. Jinhyuk blinked sleepily, nuzzling further into the hand that had now stopped and was gently cupping his face. Yeonwoo smiled, wondering how he was lucky enough to find someone so sweet, understanding, and most importantly, loved him back just as much.
Sometimes, he wished that he could show off to the world and tell everyone that Jang Jinhyuk was his beautiful, loving boyfriend. But not only did he live in Korea's conservative society, he also had his career as an idol to think about. Being an idol meant he had an image to uphold, which included a ban on publicly announcing romantic relationships. Netizens already didn't react well to heterosexual couples, god knows what it would be like if their relationship became public news. Despite this, Yeonwoo didn't regret choosing this path at all. Even if he could go back in time, he would choose being an idol over and over again without hesitation. After all, he would have never been able to meet so many people that loved and supported him, nor would he have grown so close with Hyeonbin, Yoon, and Siyun. Above all, if he never became a trainee, he would have never even met Jinhyuk.
Feeling a finger poke between his brows, Yeonwoo snapped out of his thoughts. In front of him, Jinhyuk looked back questioningly, seemingly much more awake than before. "What's wrong hyung? You looked like you were thinking about something serious and it was making you look like this." Jinhyuk furrowed his eyebrows in an exaggerated manner. Yeonwoo laughed fondly, "Ya- I know I didn't look like that."
"No you definitely did." Jinhyuk responded cheekily, while grabbing Yeonwoo's waist and pulling him closer. His other hand reached up, bringing the hand on his face down to interlock their fingers. "No but seriously hyung, is there anything bothering you that you want to talk about?"
Looking down at their intertwined fingers, Yeonwoo asked, "Do you ever want to just go public with our relationship?"
"Of course I do. But you know as idols we can't..." The two looked at each other, a silence falling upon them.
"I wish we could do something to show everyone that we're together. It doesn't even have to be big, just a secret that the both of us would know." Yeonwoo mumbled, eyes downcast. Jinhyuk sighed, it broke his heart seeing his boyfriend be so upset about this. As he moved to stroke the back of Yeonwoo's head, his eyes caught on something glinting in the darkness. Taking a closer look, it was the silver hoops in Yeonwoo's ears.
"Hyung! That's it!" Jinhyuk exclaimed, suddenly sitting up and grabbing Yeonwoo by the shoulders.
"Hold on Jinhyuk-ah. What's it?" Slowly sitting up and tilting his head in confusion. Yeonwoo was not understanding what idea Jinhyuk had in mind.
"We could get matching piercings and maybe matching earrings! It's subtle enough for people to see but not obvious enough for everyone to notice. And it's something we can easily deny being intentional."
Letting out a gasp, Yeonwoo wrapped his arms tightly around Jinhyuk. "You- *kiss* are- *kiss* a- *kiss* genius *kiss*."
"Thanks for stating the obvious." Jinhyuk said with a giggle.
"Which one should we do we do first?" Yeonwoo said, body vibrating with barely contained excitement.
"How about you get a second lobe piercing to match me?"
"Okay, I'll talk to Seungjun hyung about it tomorrow!"
---
"Day_and! Did you see that Yeonwoo-hyung and I have matching piercings?"
(So much for subtlety)
