It’s been a month since… it happened. You know, the accident at school where you left me. I know we didn’t spend that much time together, but even so, I miss you so much it feels like my chest is open all the time.
I still go out with my friends, the ones I wish you had met. I still go on missions, the ones I wish I could have gone on with you. I still smile, because you said you thought my smile was beautiful. I still watch movies at the theater, but I always sit where there’s an empty seat next to me, because that way it feels like you’re watching with me.
It feels worse when I go to sleep, because I’m alone. Not enough to forget you, but enough to think about you all the time. I can still feel you hugging me, hear your laugh, hear your voice, feel the warmth of your lips on mine. I would give anything to be able to see you again.
Sometimes I look for that photo of you, the one I took when we went to the movies together for the first time. I took it as we were leaving. You were laughing, you look so happy in it. I wish I could see that again.
I know you’ll never read any of this, but I wish you could, because I still love you, Junpei, and I’m afraid of losing you again, this time inside my memories.
