When it came to the relationship Izuku and Katsuki shared, the two always seemed to let their thoughts and feelings fall between the cracks of their passion and pleasure. But as they stand before each other now, alone as at some point everyone else sneaked away sensing the tension the two needed to address without prying eyes, their hearts seem to be pouring from their eyes.
Silence is like a cradle, a dusting of freshly fallen snow blanketing over the two heroes. Quiet is all they seem to know as their body language speaks for them in a different way than ever before. Instead of chasing a high and pleasuring one another, they express other desires. Want of a companion.
Frankly, Katsuki doesn't know how much more he can take of it. Roughly 42 hours ago they were both respectfully on the verge of death, yet they once again are getting choked up when it comes to talking about their emotions.
“Izuku,” Katsuki whispers. The hospital hallway, thankfully, seems to be on standby, as if the world knew how crucial this moment was for the two heroes. As if the universe was holding its breath for words to fall from their lips.
“I'm sorry, Kacchan.” Izuku whimpers, and tears fall from his eyes as if the floodgates have suddenly been risen. It takes everything in the blonde not to step closer, knowing they were both equally fragile right now, additionally Katsuki was still on crunches and movement as small as that was not a big priority.
“You have nothing to be sorry about—” Katsuki tries saying, but is immediately cut off by the freckled boy.
“If I had not scared you off, uh, I mean I don't know, but then I heard all about what happened with Doku, and it's my fault I know, you can't tell me otherwise, and I accidentally let the whole world find out about us, I didn't mean to, and I understand if you want nothing to do with me for the rest of your life, seeing as you already hated me—”
Katsuki is the one to cut off Izuku now and his horribly long run-on sentence, “Who says I hate you?”
Izuku lets out a tiny breath, his wet eyes widening as he shifts his weight, probably still in immense pain, same as Katsuki. They really shouldn't be doing this right now. They're both still so broken, but nothing is hurting Katsuki more right now than having their relationship still unresolved. They would manage. They've been through worse, after all.
“You…don't hate me?” Izuku asks in a weak voice, making Katsuki want to be shot again knowing he caused it. He's the one who put the thought in Izuku's mind that he hates him, who else would it be? And obviously Katsuki wouldn't doubt it with how he acted in middle school. Screw his younger self, he hates that guy, not Izuku.
“No, Izuku. I've never hated you.” Katsuki assures the greenette who is now rubbing his eyes and brushing the tears away. Izuku steps closer, gazing up as his big doe, viridian eyes cut through Katsuki's soul like a rose thorn.
“Then…how do you feel about me?” Izuku asks the golden question, and Katsuki takes a deep breath in to steal himself before answering.
“I've valued you as a friend, loathed you for looking down on me, been disgruntled and challenged by you as rivals, felt heaven with you, but mostly, I've loved every damn minute of it because I wouldn't dream it happened with any other person then the man that I love.” and Katsuki isn't the least bit surprised when Izuku's breath stops abruptly. Those gorgeous eyes blink slowly at him as Katsuki stands with his whole heart on display for once in his life. Like he said, he wouldn't wish it to be anyone else to hear those words except Izuku.
“Now, Izuku,” Katsuki begins, managing to stay on his crunches while simultaneously laying one large hand on Izuku's shoulder, one he knows is covered in freckles just like the rest of his body, a fact he hopes he's the only person who does know, “how do you feel about me?”
Izuku's cheeks turn a familiar, pretty pink that Katsuki can only ever grow more fond of as the greenette opens his plump lips to speak, “Kacchan,” Izuku starts but pauses, looking to Katsuki for an answer.
“Yes, Izuku?” Katsuki asks in a hushed tone, the back of his knuckles now brushing over Izuku's freckled cheek.
“I've always adored you. Always wanted more attention from you. Always wanted just to be near you. It's like I'm addicted to a drug, one I wouldn't mind overdosing on.” Izuku says, but he still doesn't sound finished, even as it's a very promising start for the blonde.
“And?” Katsuki urges Izuku on, his thumb now ghosting over Izuku's bottom lip and pulling it down lightly. He feels the greenette's mouth move against his finger as Izuku speaks again.
“You know I love you. Always forever.” Izuku giggles, though it comes out wet as his eyes fill with tears again.
“Good. Because that's all I'm asking for,” Katsuki murmurs before letting his crunches fall to the ground. Izuku forgets crying for a second as panic fills him as he catches the blonde, shrieking in tandem, “Kacchan!”
But Katsuki just chuckles, intending for it to be this way, he wraps Izuku in his arms as they both support each other's weights. The blonde pulls his face down and plants his lips on those of his lover.
They're like that for a while, a fight of dominance and a dance of tongues as they both run each other out of breath. Teeth clicking together, lips turning purples due to bruising, passionate in the love they share and proof of how worried they were for the other. They keep at it until they both pull their faces only an inch away, gasping for breath.
“So, boyfriends?” Katsuki asks, his voice resonating deep this close to Izuku.
Izuku smiles like a damn puppy, his eyes shining like the sun, “I would love that, Kacchan.”
And then they kiss again. And do not stop until their parents eventually show up once more and pull them apart to get more rest and healing. And no matter how much they hate being separated, it's a little less angering with the promise of forever at each other's sides. And, yes, you heard that right, forever, because Katsuki would be damned if anybody else tried marrying Izuku. Hell no. Izuku is his. And he is Izuku's.
That's just how it is.

Izuku had been officially dating his wonderful boyfriend, Katsuki, for a year as of two weeks ago. And though the two don't purposely keep it a secret from all of Japan, somehow nobody had figured it out yet.
Izuku argues that it could be because they already acted like a couple before so people haven't noticed something has changed—they would have, maybe, but Izuku and Katsuki keep things professional and do not do pda. Only their friends and family knew about them. So it's no wonder that the first time they did show any existence of their relationship in public caused a very dramatic answer. After all, when talk of Doku actually being evil and Katsuki maybe being evil too finally died down a couple months after the whole fiasco, no other news got out of the Wonder Duo's relationship status…but tonight would be the night, at none other than a Pro Hero party. Whether they knew that, or not.
“Kacchan! Are you ready‽” Izuku asks, bounding into their shared apartment bathroom. After three months of dating Izuku moved into Katsuki's apartment, it came naturally easy for them to live together, almost better for them actually.
Katsuki is adjusting a bow tie in the mirror, which Izuku knows Katsuki doesn't want to wear necessarily but is doing it anyway because it's the centerpiece of both their outfits. Katsuki's tie is green while Izuku's is orange, meanwhile they're both wearing simple black suits.
“Yup. Just finished.” He smirks, the one that always has Izuku's heart thumping against his ribcage no matter how many times he's seen it turned on him.
Izuku risks wrinkling their suits as he steps onto his tippy-toes and presses their bodies together, Katsuki following his lead as he cups Izuku's cheeks in his warm hands and kisses him like tomorrow does not exist.
Once they are properly out of breath, they finally head out the door and get into Katsuki's car to drive to the party.
“I'm so excited to see everyone, aren't you?” Izuku says as Katsuki has one hand on the wheel, the other caressing Izuku's thigh soothingly.
Katsuki rolls his eyes stubbornly as he tsks, “Speak for yourself, babe. I see the idiots enough already that this feels more like a chore.”
Izuku fakes a pout, “But, Kacchan, I'll be there.” He points out, not missing the way the blonde fights a genuine smile.
Katsuki squeezes Izuku's thigh three times, “Deku, you're a part of those idiots, ya’ know.” He teases, making the greenette giggle with warmth.
So much has changed in the past year, all for the better. Izuku has never been happier in his life, and it's all because he and Katsuki finally got their shit together. No more guilt when they fucked. No more sadness about holding in their feelings. And especially no more jealousy because they belonged to each other.
“We're here,” Katsuki says as they pull into a parking lot outside a huge convention center where the party is being held at. It takes them a bit to actually find a place to park but once they do they step out of the car and walk up to the party hand in hand, not even thinking about the cameras capturing everyone who entered the party tonight.
They walk down the red carpet and lots of gasps fly through the crowd of reporters, people screaming about their arrival.
“This never gets old,” Izuku tells Katsuki with a sparkle in his eye.
Katsuki loves seeing Izuku like this, but he also hates being the center of attention, so he replies saying, “It does for me.” Which gets Izuku to laugh as more cameras flash them.
One rule of tonight's party is that the news reporters were only allowed to take pictures, no questions, so they freely walk up to the door without any inconvenience and are met by the security there.
“Dynamight and Deku, you may come in.” The security guard says, moving out of the way and opening the door for the couple.
The party is set in a dark tone with neon lights. Party goers dance and drink and grab food, but nearly everywhere you look you're promised a smile.
Izuku scans the room and grabs Katsuki's biceps while jumping up and down when he spots where the rest of their high school classmates have congregated.
“Kacchan! Kacchan! Over here, let's go!” Izuku pulls the blonde along and leaves Katsuki smiling at how adorable Izuku is when he's excited.
Ochako is the first to spot them, jumping Izuku and pulling him into a hug, “Deku!” she pulls back and turns to the others, “Look guys! Deku and Bakugou are here!”
And just like in high school, the greenette and the blonde have always been the main attraction of the class so they're immediately swapped by their respective friend groups. Though they are technically separated, they don't mind much, because it's nice for them to catch up some with their friends.
“So, we're all dying to know how things are with you and Bakugou,” Izuku is surprised to hear this from Todoroki. He's never actually heard Todoroki speak like that, although he hasn't seen the half and half hero in a while so maybe a lot more has changed then he thought.
“He's the best. But really it's not a lot different then when we were just casually fucking—” he doesn't mind saying this since all their friends are well aware of all that now, “—except for living together. But that's been wonderful too.” Izuku boasts, glancing over at his boyfriend and receiving a wink from the blonde. Izuku blushes as he turns back to his friends.
“Really? You guys haven't fought at all?” Tsuyu asks, and Izuku can't help but chuckle.
“Of course we do. We've been fighting our whole lives so it's not much different. We know how to handle each other's tantrums.” Izuku replies, and his friends all sigh happily.
“That makes sense. You two have known one another your whole lives, there really is no stronger bond,” Iida points out, smiling proudly when talking about his two old classmates.
“You two really are the picture perfect couple,” Ochako adds, giving Izuku a big smile.
Izuku pinches her playfully in the side, “Yeah? Got any news about your dating life?” He asks her, regretting it when her smile falls.
“No. I, uh, still can't get her out of my head.” Izuku knows who she's talking about without her actually saying who. Himiko Toga. Ochako never did get over her. But she was trying to. She told the greenette that Toga would want her to move on with her life and put herself out there more. So she's put herself on every dating sight, guess she's just had no matches yet.
“I've had my eye on someone for a couple months,” Todoroki mumbles, hand scratching behind his head bashfully. Tsuyu and Ochako immediately jump into asking questions.
But Izuku ignores any answers the fire and ice hero gives, instead following where his eyes have wandered to. Izuku finds himself looking at Sero, and a smile overtakes his face as he snaps his head back to Todoroki. Their eyes meet and Todoroki's adams apple bobs, knowing that Izuku had already figured it out.
“Would you mind me telling them, Todoroki?” Izuku asks him, smirking as the girls gasp and begin to plead him while clapping their hands together.
Todoroki shrugs with a smile, “They'd figure it out at some point anyhow. Go ahead.”
“He likes Sero!” Izuku reveals, and the two girls swoon dramatically, going on a rant of how good the two would look together as the three boys watch them with smiles.
Finally, Izuku turns to Iida and asks, “You have anyone?”
“Not as of yet, Midoriya. You know I'm dedicated to my work.” Iida answers, smiling still as he's unaffected by this subject.
“Yeah, we know, Iida, don't worry.” Todoroki answers, patting the speed hero on the shoulder twice. Then, he whispers to them both, “I'm going to go ask Hanta to dance with me.”
“Aaa! They're on a first name basis!” Ochako squeals.
“He's asking him to dance!” Tsuyu squeaks.
Izuku watches as Todoroki walks over and the two share a conversation with huge smiles before Sero takes Todoroki's hand in his own and leads him to the dance floor, followed by cheers from the Bakusquad.
When a familiar song comes on, Izuku's eyes search for Katsuki's and find them already on him. Izuku smiles warmly as he mumbles something to his friends about dancing with his boyfriend. He doesn't miss the way they cheer even more, the same as they did for Todoroki and Sero, as he walks over to the blonde.
Katsuki pulls Izuku into his body, hand on the greenette's lower back as Izuku rests his own hands on the blonde's broad chest.
“I think I know this song,” Izuku says cheekily, making Katsuki smirk.
“Yeah?” He asks, his hands shifting to hold Izuku's hips steady as they begin to sway together.
“Yeah.” Izuku states, knowing full well what this song was because it was remarkably similar to the situation they had been in over a year ago.
So they dance together as Chappell Roan's “Casual” fills the room with its enchanting tune.
The rest of the night blurs together as they enjoy themselves. At some point they make it back home and collapse on their shared bed in a heap, falling fast asleep immediately in each other's warm embrace.
Izuku wakes the next morning to the sound of Katsuki's barking laughter. He groggily blinks his eyes open to find he is now alone in the bed. Bad enough he was woken so suddenly, now to know he's not even with his favorite person.
“Izuku! Get your cute little ass out here!” Katsuki yells from what Izuku assumes must be the living room. He sighs tiredly, getting ready to let himself slip back into sleep. But before he can, Katsuki comes back into the bedroom and shoves his phone into Izuku's face.
Izuku reads the headline displayed on the blonde's phone and a drowsy smile creeps across his face.
“Hero Deku and Hero Dynamight Spotted Holding Hands.”
“We forgot to tell the public we are dating, Deku!” Katsuki cackles, and Izuku finds himself slowly joining in as well with giggles of his own.
“We did.” He agrees, sleep finally leaving him completely as he sits up and rubs his eyes.
“We should go into an interview and announce it officially.” Katsuki suggests.
Izuku nods, his green curls bouncing with the movement, “Yeah, as long as you plan it.”
“I will.” Katsuki answers.

“I'm so glad to have you two on my show,” the famous reporter, Akane, starts the interview with a wide smile.
“We're very happy to be here as well, sir,” Izuku replies, smiling the smile he knows his fans call his signature one. The one that had the whole of Japan calling him Japan's sweetheart. He wears the smile like a crown.
“Please, you can call me Akane,” he says, and Izuku nods.
“Now, I'm sure you two know what I'm about to ask. After those pictures from the party last week, everyone has been wondering about it too. Are you dating?” Akane skips any questions in preparation for this one. Which this is secretly what they were both wanting.
“For a year now.” Katsuki reveals, and the live crowd gasps before they begin to cheer.
And really, the rest of the questions no longer mattered after that one. They leave the interview with the whole world now having knowledge of their relationship. The two decide to go out to eat for lunch and everyone they pass is congratulating them.
Katsuki for once does not mind the fact that he isn't hiding his identity, he's secretly loving the attention he's being served and he certainly enjoys parading his amazing boyfriend around, their hands connected.
“I'm so glad we got that out,” Izuku laughs, thinking about how they had forgotten to tell everyone. Katsuki nods doting on Izuku with his eyes as they sit down at a café.
They continue to hold hands across the table. At least, until Katsuki gets up and tells Izuku he's going to the bathroom real quick.
It's then that a girl that looks oddly familiar walks up to Izuku's table, smiling hugely.
“Uh, hi.” She says, and Izuku smiles back at her, urging her to ask for what he thinks is going to be an autograph or a picture. Anything along the lines of a fan. And he's surprised by what she does say.
“Look, I know news just got out about you and Dynamight. But a year ago I met you in this very café and gave you my number. I just wanted to make sure you still had it just in case.” She winks at him, and it's then that it hits Izuku who this is. That girl that he met just a couple days before everything went down. He didn't even know her name, hardly remembered what she looked like or thought about her until now. He feels bad for that, but then again, he doesn't have to when it's someone trying to get into his pants while knowing full well of Izuku's boyfriend.
“Flattered, really. But if I lost your number then it's for the better. And if I haven't then I definitely am now. I have a significant other already and I plan on spending forever with him—” she has the audacity to cut the greenette off.
“But if you two ever break up—” and Katsuki, back from the bathroom, has the balls to growl in her face, interrupting her.
“We. Are. Never. Breaking. Up. Unless it's to get married. Now scram.” He tells her, not even feeling the least bit sorry about being mean. Izuku isn't sorry either, because she tried crossing a boundary that Izuku already set. Him and Katsuki are dating, end of discussion.
“Ah, uh, right. I get it.” She sighs, walking away. Though her ego doesn't seem damaged at all, so Izuku scoffs.
Katsuki laughs at that, “My tendencies must be catching on, babe.” The blonde points out. Yeah, Izuku doesn't usually get pissed. Sassy? Most definitely.
“Just wait for the bedroom, Kacchan,” Izuku smirks, biting his bottom lip seductively.
Katsuki grins, “Oh, but I can't wait.” And with that, they finish their food and head home.
And so what if they fuck each other senseless? They're in love. You couldn't stop them even if you wanted to.
