Work Text:

Aubree fell back onto her bed, sighing softly as she tossed and turned. The faint hum of her computer sent shivers down her spine, flinching at the sounds. She immediately shot up, staring at her computer as it’s fans grew louder. The screen flashed red, then blue, then red, then blue again before finally turning red. She felt her heart beat in her chest, pushing her back against the wall as she stared at it. It’s face appeared on the screen, it stared at her. Aubree gripped her arms, eyes snapping to her pc then her screen. She wiped a drop of sweat that was slipping down her face. “AUBREE.” It’s robotic and loud voice spoke out. She flinched and covered her ears, staring at it as she backed herself up more into the wall behind her. “AUBREE.” It spoke again. She uncovered her ears, wrapping her arms around herself as she stared at Jx1.

“W-what?” She shakily called out to it, her voice cracked and her fear heightened. She couldn’t prove it, but it’s grin got wider. “LOOK.AT.YOU.” JX1DX1 started laughing, mocking her. She shut her eyes, sniffling before starting to cry, the loud laughing just got louder. She wanted to tear her ears off.

Aubree jolted up in bed, hyperventilating as she whipped her head around her room. Nothing, another dumb nightmare. She grabbed the phone laying on the bedside table, checking the time. 4am, great. Woken in the middle of the night for a smiling, giggling, freak. She wanted to throw up, all of the nightmare probably bubbled in her stomach. Her feet pattered against the floor, anxiously checking her computer for any trace of the virus before she rushed to the bathroom. Her hands gripped the sink as she sniffled, it was just a nightmare repeated in her brain, it didn't help at all. She felt one tear, then more. She wiped her eyes with her wrists, which stung even more. She cursed at the dumb idea and grabbed a towel. Wiping the dried blood and tears off her wrists. A soft whine of pain escaped her. Recoiling from the painful sting.

She didn’t want to do anything. The idea of laying in her bed and sleeping was the best idea. She hated doing any of her schoolwork, she hated even getting out of bed, It felt more like a chore than a habit. Speaking of habits. She started flexing and unflexing her hands, tapping on them almost brainlessly. She sighed, shaking her hands and running them through her curly hair. She sniffled, the tears had stopped for a bit. She did really want to speak to Sean. But that also meant. She didn’t want to think about it.

Another day, another cycle of torment. Her feet pressing against the floor as she tried to recall the past week. It all blended together unevenly, creating some form of a spaced out memory. She had a nightmare, she then... Aubree's eyes squinted, trying to remember anything. But nothing conjured up in her brain. Its like her entire memory had gotten erased from just one nap. She didn't want to dwell on it anymore. She shoved herself out of bed and into her bathroom again.

Deja vu was a crazy thing, had she done this before? Had she sat there staring at herself before? She didn't want to think about it. She didn't want to think about anything anymore. Her brain was foggy and spread apart. She groaned, gripping her hair tightly as she tried to remember anything.

She scanned the roblox front page, nothing had been catching her eye so far. After all, what else are you supposed to do with a stalking virus in your computer? She shook her head and went back to scrolling. Maybe she could listen to some music? Maybe. She opened a new tab, typing in youtube and scrolling through whatever was on the front page. Vocaloid seemed like the best option. She clicked whatever the first option was and laid her head down.

Well that didn't work. She shot up at the sound of her music distorting and fizzling out. She covered her ears and stood up, reaching for the plug on her computer. Her fingers brushed against the cord, instantly curling her fingers around it and yanking it out with some sparks. She stared at her computer. Watching the screen turn black before she sat back down in her chair.

Maybe the next day will be better.
