Chapter Text
“I’ll spend my whole life trying to find a way to kill you.” Those were the last words Juliette heard from Calliope. Juliette never thought she would hear those words from the person she trusted her heart with. Something in her knew a vampire and hunter could never work. But she put her pride and traditions to the side for her hunter.

Three months later
Jules
Juliette woke up hair still frizzy from her dreamless sleep. Ever since that night her connection with her hunter had been strained. Juliette tried to not look desperate but she failed miserably. Every night she would try to reach calliope in their dreams but she could feel the hunter pulling away from the connection. Today marked three months since calliope promised to stake her heart.

Juliette jumped off her bed in a hurry hearing Ben’s car horn. She hurriedly got dressed putting on some slack jeans and a plaid sweater. After she got dressed she ran downstairs and hurriedly fixed her some coffee. Quickly kissing her mother and father goodbye.
As she ran outside she could see Ben’s smile from a mile away. “Letty we’re gonna be late”, exclaimed Ben. “Sorry Ben I’m just a bit tired.” “I haven’t really been sleeping” Juliette whispers softly. The car ride to school was filled with Ben’s laughter and his rants about his latest crush. Juliette was nodding in the right places but wasn’t really there in the moment. As they pulled up to the school Juliette’s palms instantly got sweaty. She’s been like this ever since her and Calliope stopped talking.

As she neared her English class she could hear her hunters heartbeat, faint but still strong. As she walked into English class she immediately made eye contact with Calliope. Her heart skipped a beat when Calliope snickered at her and gave her a dirty look. Jules hurriedly made her way to her table and slumped in her seat. She sat behind Cal and watched her intently waiting for Cal to look back. Class felt like it had stretched for years. Until the bell had snapped Jules out of her daze. She hurriedly flew to the front of the class. She was determined to get her lover back. As she neared the hallway she bumped right into Calliope. The tall girl eyeing her briefly before speeding off.
Juliette followed Calliope and called out to her, “Cal can we please talk?” , asked Juliette. Cal ignored her and kept walking. Jules walked on side of Cal and grabbed her arm and pulled her inside an empty classroom. As they spilled into the room Jules swallowed her fear and spoke.
“Cal can we please talk? I understand you’re angry but I love you.” When Jules said that she loved Cal, she could see Cal’s face falter in the slightest bit. In the back of her mind she knew there was still hope. Deep down she knew Cal still loved her. The love that they share cannot be duplicated or broken so easily. Forbidden love that keeps Jules and Cal both up at night even when they don’t want to admit it.
“Look Juliette you took my brother away from me and turned him into the things our family hunts and are supposed to hate.” , Cal spits out.
Juliette quickly rebutted and says, “I know Cal and I’m really sorry but I just didn’t want you to experience that. I didn’t want you to know what it feels like to lose a brother. I know how close you were to him. Cal please believe me I was just trying to help. I never meant to hurt you in any way.” Jules closes the distance between the two when she sees Cals eyes get glassy with tears. Jules brushes her hands with Calliope’s and gets happy when Cal doesn’t pull away. She can’t stand to see Calliope hurting.
“Cal can you please forgive me.” ,whispers Juliette. “Jules you came into my life and made me question everything I believe and know. Even though you did what you did I still love you. Ever since that night I’ve been thinking about you. I’ve tried over and over to try to forget you and be mad at you. But I can’t, I- I still love you Jules. But I just need some space to process everything that happened.” ,Cal says through tears.
