Work Text:
Today was a VERY special day. Why? Philip was having a day with your favourite silver fox: Buckley!
Philip was very nervous, (I mean who wouldn't be), after all he's never really been on a date before. Tonight would be his first. He was terrified. What if Buckley hated him after?! there was only one way to know for sure.
It was noon, so there was no need to worry about Luz too much, Buckley would be picking him up at 12:30pm. He didn't know when the date would end, but he has nothing to do today so it shouldn't really matter. That still didn't change the fact that Philip felt so nervous.. Like his throat had a giant boulder in it.
Then Philip heard a knock. He went over to open the door, it was Buck! "Hello, Buckley. How are you this beautiful afternoon?" Philip asks, trying to keep his composure. Buckley looked absolutely gorgeous. So handsome, so perfect.
"I'm doing great now that I can see you." Buck flirted, taking Philip's left hand and placing a gentle kiss on it.
Philip blushed hard, covering his face with his other hand. Titan he loved this man. "Shall we go?"
"We shall!" Buck smiled warmly, escorting the ex-emperor to his Ford.
The drive was nice. They chatted about work and such. Once they finally got there they had to wait a bit for their table to be ready. Once it was ready they headed on inside, Buck holding Philip's hand, stroking his thumb over it to sooth Philip's anxiety. "Let me know if you get uncomfortable, alright? I don't want you to freak out in the middle of Pear Flies." Buck teased.
"Alright, dear." Philip warmly smiled, Buck made him feel so loved and important.
They sat at their table and were greeted by their server. "Welcome to Pear Flies, how are you guys doing today?"
"We're doing just fine. Could I get a Coke? Philip, do you want a water?" Buck asked, Philip nodded, "He'll get a water."
"Of course!" The server writes that down. "Do you folks need a minute to order?"
"Yeah, we'll take a minute."
"Gotcha! I'll be back in a few minutes." The waiter walked away with a pleasant smile (they knew what they are).
Once they figured out what they wanted they told the waiter. When their food arrived it was the perfect temperature to eat. The Mac and cheese was the perfect creaminess, the steak was juicy, the sauces were to die for.
"So what do you want to do after this?" Buck asks before taking a bite out of the mac and cheese.
"Could we hang out at my place?" Philip asks softly, "we could watch a film andd.. Maybe cuddle? I don't know, I've never been on a date before." Philip asks, embarrassed and ashamed on his lack of knowledge of what couples do.
"I would like that." Buck says, cupping Philip's cheek in his hand.
They paid for their meals and took the rest to go. Food made Philip tired, he yawned while stretching in the car. "Sleepy?" Buck asked.
"Yeah, a little." Philip admitted.
They arrived at Philip's house, Buck escorted Philip out like royalty (little did Buck know).
Philip crashed on the couch, Buck sat beside him. "I had a great time." Buck said, adjusting the tired Philip's head to lay on his lap.
"I... I think I did too." Philip did the most genuine smile he's ever done in his four centuries of living.
"I'm glad." Buck smiled back, ruffling Philip's hair, then planting a kiss on his forehead. "Get up here, darlin'." Philip sat up while Buck adjusted in a more laying position, Philip laid his head on Buck's chest and they fell asleep, he felt safe at last.
