Chapter 1: Kikufuku Mochi

Chapter Text

"Oh my God..!" I wailed as I saw my friend's wounds. I squirmed out of Mr.Gojo's hands and stumbled towards the boy.

"Megumi! What happened?" I held his face in my hands as hot tears traveled down my face.

Mr.Gojo cleared his throat. "What's the situation?"

Megumi glanced at the man before turning back to me. "I got into a fight. I'll be fine." I smiled slightly before being interrupted by my teacher's laugh, and his hand on my shoulder, not so subtly pushing me away. I looked over, seeing a half-naked boy standing awkwardly. He waved. I looked away.

"Mr.Gojo..?"

"I wasn't gonna come at first...Oh, you're really messed up. The second-years are gonna love this."

I perked up a bit. Second years...Maki...I tried to get in frame of some of the pictures.

Mr.Gojo cleared his throat. "Um," He thought for a second. "Anyways, the higher-ups heard a special grade cursed object went missing and told me to investigate. I said yes, but only if.."

He gestured to my new t-shirt. "..if they let me do some tourism."

I raised a thumbs-up with a small smile. "It's Hello Kitty!"

Mr.Gojo cooed as he took some pictures. "[Name]! A rare smile!"

Megumi cleared his throat. Mr.Gojo groaned.

"...did you find the cursed object?"

Megumi opened his mouth to say something, then closed it.

"Um.." I looked back over at the half-naked boy. He waved awkwardly. "Hi. Uh...sorry but...I ate it."

I looked at Megumi. He looked away. I looked at Mr.Gojo. He looked at me. We both looked at the boy.

"Really?

"Really."

I watched as Mr.Gojo walked back to the boy, then inched back to Megumi.

"So..." I played with my fingers. "Have you...talked to Maki recently..?"

Megumi groaned. "You know the answer! Just confess already! What's the point in me giving you her number if you never talk to her? I mean, you're so-"

A bag landed in Megumi's lap. "Hold on to this for me, will you?" Megumi looked into the bag. "What's this?"

I stopped listening shortly after. I felt frustrated. What did Megumi know about loving Maki? What does he know about girls in general? Last time I checked, I was the one kissing girls on the playground when we were little, not him! Besides, Maki is calm and smart, and oh-so-strong. The way her eyes caught the sunlight, the way her hair moved in the wind, the way her uniform fit around her body...

"Alright...that's enough daydreaming for you, [name]. Let's go."

I felt a harsh tap on my forehead before everything went dark.

---

"Wake up."

I blinked, staring at the familiar ceiling of the infirmary. I sat up, pouting when I didn't have my uniform nor my Hello Kitty shirt on. I looked at Megumi, who was standing near the bed. He blinked, slightly annoyed.

"What?"

I huffed, swinging my legs over the side of the bed and standing up. Before Megumi could speak, I held a hand up to him. "I don't wanna hear it." I adjusted the thin blanket on the bed before leaving the room, going somewhere else to process my current emotions. The odd feeling in my stomach wasn't helping either.

My room smelled like strawberries and vanilla like usual. Megumi said he didn't like the smell, but the last time Maki was in here, she said she liked it.

Maki...I smiled at the thought.

Our relationship was quite compliment. We weren't dating, and you could argue whether or not we were friends. Although, we did kiss once. It was really quick, and it was a dare from the other second-years. I don't know if Maki even liked girls. If she liked girls, was I even her type?

I sighed and looked at the packages on my desk. A small smile appeared on my face -  I loved online shopping. It was so much easier and stress-free than going shopping in person. And because I was using Mr.Gojo's card, I didn't have to worry about prices!

The first package was a long box. I ordered a poster of some gyaru models I saw once when Mr.Gojo took me to Shibuya. I stood on my bed, using some pushpins to stick the poster to the wall. I looked back at my desk.

"I wonder if my Liz Lisa is in there too..."

I perked up when I heard a knock on my door. For a few moments, I was worried Principal Yaga would come to scold me for something, but then I realized Principal Yaga's steps aren't quiet at all.

I got up and opened the door. "Megumi?" I stepped into the hallway and closed my door. "Is something wrong?"

Before Megumi could speak, Mr.Gojo walked out of another dorm, followed by the half-naked kid. He waved to Megumi and I. I hesitantly waved back, following Megumi who was approaching them. While Megumi was talking to Mr.Gojo, I circled around the boy, inspecting him like he was an animal, when in the corner of my vision, I saw a poster with a bikini model on it. The boy didn't waste a second.

"I'm Yuji Itadori! I'm into girls like Jennifer Lawrence!"

I blinked. "I'm...[name]..I like girls like M-like Mizuhara! Kiko Mizuhara!"

Itadori was silent for a moment. Then, he stuck his hand out for a handshake.

"My brother."

"I'm a girl."

"My sister."

"..."

He took my hand in his. "We both like girls. We like bikinis."

I showed a wobbly grin. "We like girls in bikinis."

Megumi looked irritated as he watched the scene. Mr.Gojo laughed. "Well!" He slapped a hand on our shoulders. He looked at me. "[Name]! Making friends so quickly! That's my girl!" He ruffled my hair.

"Anyways!" Mr.Gojo cleared his throat. "Tomorrow, we'll meet the fourth first-year!"
