"Ah, Mafuyu seems to have fallen ill.. what could I do to make her feel better..?" the blue haired girl thinks to herself while looking at a distressed but asleep Mafuyu.
"Apples...? I remember when Mafuyu came over for the first time." A warm smile grows on Kanade's face, recalling the warm memory where she was able to hold Mafuyu's hand as she fell asleep, providing comfort to her dear friend.
Kanade closes Mafuyu's door quietly in order to not wake her. She heads to the kitchen to find apples. Upon recalling that apples are good for when you're sick, and that Mafuyu once mentioned her mother made her apple slices that took the shape of a bunny. Although Mafuyu struggles to face her mother now, Kanade had no hate in her heart for the woman. She was someone who once made Mafuyu feel happy and loved, she couldn't forget that. If bunny shaped apples make Mafuyu feel safe, then that's just what Kanade would set her mind to.
Kanade could cook...sometimes. Thankfully, apples were something more simple to do, but she wasn't sure how exactly a bunny shaped apple would play out.
"...is the skin supposed to be peeled like this?...no, that doesn't look right.." After many attempts and many apples later, she settled on the slices that looked enough like bunnies. They weren't perfect, but Kanade was no sort of peeling master.

Kanade enters Mafuyu's room to find her sitting up in her bed looking drained. "Mafuyu... how are you feeling?" she asks in a gentle yet concerned voice, rushing over to Mafuyu's side after placing the plate of apple slices on the table next to her.
A simple "Kanade...?" is all Mafuyu can manage to squeak out.
"I um.. made you some apple slices." She picks the plate up from the table and places it in Mafuyu's lap gently. "Will you be able to eat?"
Her question receives a nod from her purple hair friend who stares at the plate on bunny shaped apple slices. As tears start to form in her eyes, Mafuyu stops them from coming down with a deep breath. This snack truly did remind her of when she was a child, filling her with comfort and reminding her of how things used to be. She slowly eats the slices before laying back down completely.
"Did you enjoy them..? If there's anything else you need Mafuyu, please feel free to ask." Kanade feels her heart become full, knowing that she can be there for her dear friend even after all of this time. Mafuyu let's out a groan, signifying that she's still not feeling too great.
"Kanade.."
"Yes, Mafuyu?"
"Don't... go...it's warm"
"I promise you Mafuyu, I will never leave your side."
"...thank you" Mafuyu reaches for Kanade's hand, and suddenly it feels like they've been in this situation for the first time again. However, it's different now. Mafuyu finally feels safe, she can truly rest without the worry of having to be alone again at home. No more fighting. Just her, Kanade, Miku, and the rest of Nightcord At 25.
"...your voice... is kind."
"Ah, s-should I sing you a song then?" Kanade covers Mafuyu's hand with both of her own. This fills the pair with comfort.
"...okay."
Kanade smiles at her. "Let's see.. what song should I sing..? Shadow Shadow wouldn't be very comforting.. Koufuku Kei may not be the best choice for now... Oh, I see." The correct song choice fills Kanade's mind, and in this dark filled room, she starts to sing.
"The memory of that train station's platform that vanished one day...And the companions I made with my burning ambition..." Mafuyu moves and settles closer to Kanade's body that's sitting on her bed.
"Someday, they'll become the sea, the sky and other human beings..And there will be a day when I long for the passion at 25:00." Kanade takes one of her hands off of Mafuyu's and places it on her head, stroking it gently.
"I long for you, I love you,' Those words and the song on this night... I wonder, will they smolder in the depths of my heart someday?" Kanade places a gentle kiss on the now sleeping Mafuyu's forehead, continuing to stroke her hair, undoing her ponytail. She read once online that ponytails that are too tight may cause headaches.
"You aren't alone in the world, don't forget that as well... haa..." her fingertips gracefully move from Mafuyu's ponytail, to her now free hair, running her fingers through it. "And make sure to not forget your own passion."
Kanade falls asleep under the warmth of the night, holding her precious friend Mafuyu's hand. She has nothing but hope for her and Mafuyu's future.
