Chapter Text

GIYUU POV

A meeting… again.

I hate them, I hate Sanemi.

He's annoying, rude and frankly I don't get how he has friends with that attitude.

NO ONE'S POV

Giyuu gets out of bed, his movements slow and sluggish. His eyes threaten to close every moment.

He goes to his bathroom to brush his teeth. In the mirror is a pale man, hair long and unkempt. He looks tired, exhausted even, from sleep? He didn't even know anymore

Everyone was getting on his nerves recently, mostly Sanemi though. Sanemi just had to argue with him every living moment didn't he? He almost felt bad for the man, it's almost like he can't control his own anger.

But none of that mattered right now, he just had to focus on getting ready before worrying about Sanemi.

~~(TIME SKIP)~~

NO ONE'S POV

Giyuu had made it to the meeting early, somehow, and sat where he normally did. The only others there were Mitsuri and Shinobu who were busy talking about some random girl stuff… and Sanemi, it just had to be him didn't it…

SANEMI'S POV

What is Tomioka doing here? I honestly can't stand that man, he's infuriating. He thinks he's better than all of us, he just has to be so self centered doesn't he?

I sit down at the back, where I always sit, well as far away from Tomioka as I can get.

SHINOBU'S POV

Tomioka and Shinazugawa are always so far apart… I wonder if something happened between the two, maybe a fight?

I zone out for a while, just thinking… well before mitsuri claps in my face.

“Shinobu? Are you listening?”

“What? Oh yea, I am”

With that, she goes back to rambling about Obanai or some other random thing he's involved in, I wonder what she sees in him.

Speak of the devil. Obanai decides to walk in that exact moment and reminds me of how short he is, well still taller than me.

NO ONE'S POV

The rest of the hashira come in at different times, all minutes apart.

Tengen and Rengoku come in together, loudly chatting about food or a festival happening

Muichiro comes in by himself, he sits down and stares into space

Gyomei comes in last, his footsteps shake the floor as he walks in.

Everyone sits in whatever spot they want, not like the master cares anyways, he just wants them to be happy and slay demons.

Giyuu sits in an awkward silence with himself, he does want to talk to people but he feels as if he doesn't deserve to, he's felt like that ever since he lost Sabito. He doesn't deserve to be here, he should've been a hashira, not him. He lost his life for everyone else and didn't think about himself, maybe if giyuu was stronger he could've saved him…

Giyuu's train of thought was suddenly stopped as the master walked in, a soft smile on his face as always.

“Good morning my children, I trust you all have saved lives since our last meeting”

“GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO MASTER”

Rengoku was always too loud, his voice boomed across the room, even if he didn't mean for it to.

“No fair! I wanted to say good morning first!”

That was Mitsuri, she always meant well, but she could be overly sweet sometimes, to the point you get overwhelmed.

“That's enough children, how was your mission Tengen?”

“Well master, it was flashy as always. That demon had no chance against me!”

“Great to hear, keep it up Tengen.”

Tengen grinned at Rengoku, he was proud of himself

GIYUU'S POV

These meetings could not be any slower could they? It's always the same, Tengen boasting about how “great” he was and Gyomei rambling about inside strength. I respect Gyomei but God he could be boring.

“Now I have a mission for Giyuu and Sanemi at the next town over, a lower moon was spotted.”

What? A mission? With sanemi? Could this get any worse, I know he doesn't want to do it either.

SANEMI'S POV

Oh my Lord, do I actually have to be paired with him? The selfish emo? I love the master but does he have to pair us all the time? All missions go the same, the run there, the awkward walk there and fighting the demon. Well it's mostly me fighting, he thinks he's too good to fight apparently.

But I have to do it, it's what the master said. I am not looking forward to this.
