Chapter Text
Lucy isn’t used to seeing Tim in the watch commander office. She’s not used to seeing her boyfriend bent over the desk looking at the paperwork in front of him. She’s not used to watching him concentrate.
She’s used to seeing him up front at roll call, but he has more authority. He holds himself different and she couldn’t be more proud watching him.
Oh she loves him.
And she’s jealous of everyone who gets to be around him.
They get to watch him, hear his voice and listen to him. They get to be around him and she is on patrol.
She takes a deep breath and steps into the office. “Hi.” She says. Tim looks up and puts his pen down right away.
“Hi.” He says. “Are you about to go on patrol?” She nods and steps further into the office. He stands up and walks over to her.
“Are you okay?” He asks. “You look weird.” Lucy shrugs her shoulders and gives him a soft smile. She wants to kiss him, despite being at work and in his big open office.
“I’m fine.” She says. “Just wanted to say hi. And have a good day.”
“Thank you Sergeant Chen.” He says. He grabs her hands and gives them a squeeze. “I’ll see you at home.”
Lucy nods and he lets go of her hands, and she is suddenly jealous of everything he touches. Everything that those hands touch.
It’s ridiculous to be jealous of that. But it’s not fair, it’s not fair that everything even inanimate objects get to be around Tim.
“I’ll see you at home Sergeant Bradford.” She says and she turns and leaves the office without another word.

Lucy isn’t a jealous person. She can usually control it and keep it under control but with Tim—
She stands off to the side and watching Tim talk to the woman victim. She was part of a car jacking, and Tim just happened to be in the area.
(Lucy would get more on that later).
The woman was touching Tim’s arm and smiling at him. Tim looks a little uncomfortable as he starts talking and gesturing. Lucy feels a little bit of jealously rise up in her.
How dare that woman touch her boyfriend.
Lucy knows she’s been through a trauma, and Tim is just trying to help but—
“Sergeant Chen.” Lucy looks up to see Tim walking her way with the woman behind her.
“Sir—Sergeant Bradford.” Lucy says. “Did you get all the information?”
“I did.” Tim says giving her a smile and then turns to the woman behind him. “This is Sergeant Chen. She will be in charge of your case.”
“Oh.” The woman says and she looks disappointed that she won’t be around Tim anymore. She knows exactly how she feels. “You won’t be helping me?”
“Sergeant Chen is more than capable. You are lucky to have her on your side.” Tim says and he turns back to give Lucy a look. She gives him a smile and he nods and then walks off.
Lucy watches him leave and boy it was a sight. She keeps an eye on his back for a few more minutes before she turns back to the woman who has her eyes on Tim too.
“Is there someone you can call?” Lucy asks and she steps in front of the woman. “To pick you up?” The woman finds her eyes and then gives her a nod. She pulls out her phone, and Lucy watches her for a few seconds before turning back to Tim. He’s getting in the shop and then she tears her eyes away.
The woman is watching her now with a curious look. “Is he like in charge or something?” She asks. “I—”
“He’s the Watch Commander. And he has a live in girlfriend. I wouldn’t go near that.” Lucy says. “You called someone?”
“Yes.” The woman says. “So he’s not single?” Lucy sighs but she knows she has to keep her composure.
“No.” Lucy says. “He is certainly not single.”

Lucy watches as an officer goes into Tim’s office and Lucy stands back. She was headed there but someone beat her to it. She feels a flare of jealously rise up in her and she’s tired of feeling this way.
She’s tired of feeling jealous. She shouldn’t be jealous. She lives with Tim for god’s sake. She’s his live girlfriend. She shouldn’t feel jealous of everything little thing.
She watches as Tim stands up and shakes the officer’s hand and then the officer leaves the office. Lucy wakes a few minutes before she walks over and steps inside.
“Sergeant Chen.” Tim says without looking up. “How did the car jacking—“
“It was fine.” She says and she slides into the chair in front of the desk. “She thought you were…hot.”
Tim looks up at that with a smirk on his face. “Yeah?” He asks. “What did she say?”
“Does it matter?” Lucy asks. “You are unavailable and it’s inappropriate. And you are unavailable.”
“You said that.” Tim says. “Are you jealous Sergeant Chen?” Lucy scoffs at him and shakes her head.
“No.” She says. “But it is inappropriate.” Tim shakes his head and looks down at the piece of paper in front of him. He picks up a pen and scribbles something down. And then puts it down and steps out from behind the desk.
“I’m all yours Lucy.” He says and she blows out a breath. “Don’t worry about that. You have no reason to be jealous.” He comes up behind her and puts his had on her back and she relaxes.
He’s hers.
He’s hers.
Always.
“Sorry.” Lucy says but Tim pauses just outside the office and pulls her chin up to look at him. “I just—”
“There’s no reason to apologize.” He says. “I’m not going anywhere and you are coming home with me.”
“True.” She says. “It wasn’t just that woman. It’s everyone who gets to be around you. We have different jobs now. We go different places and I just love you. I want to be around you all the time.”
Tim smiles at her and searches her face and she once again wants to kiss him. She wants to pull him down and feel his lips on hers.
But she resists.
They are going home after all. Together.
“I love you too.” He says. “And I’m not going anywhere.” Lucy nods and they start walking towards the locker rooms.
He wasn’t going anywhere. There was no need to be jealous. No need at all.

“Hey my boy.” Lucy says scratching Kojo behind the years. “I missed you today.” She hears Tim make a soft noise above him.
She looks up and stands up to give him a smile. “What’s wrong?” She asks. Tim shakes his head and pulls her into her.
“Nothing.” Tim says. “Just you know—”
“What?”
“You don’t scratch me behind the ears and tell me you miss me.” Tim says and she stares at him in disbelief and amusement.
“What?”
“You always greet Kojo.” Tim says and he really does look like a beaten down puppy. “I know he’s your boy.”
“You are too.” Lucy points out. “Tim, are you jealous of a dog?”
“He seems to like you more too.” Tim says looking at Kojo and then at her.
“I give him treats and butt scratches.” Lucy says and then she’s standing on her toes to kiss him. Long and hard. “But I don’t do that.”
“Mmm.” Tim says and he switches them around to back her down the hallway. “True.”
“Or this.” Lucy says and she lifts his shirt over his head. Tim pulls it all the way off and tosses it aside.
“True—”
“This either.” She says and she trails her lips down his chest. “You are the only one who gets that.”
“Okay.” Tim says. “I get it. I shouldn’t be jealous of a dog. I’m all yours.” Lucy laughs and pulls him down for a kiss.
There’s no need to be jealous.
And she’s perfectly okay with that.
