Gem knew she always felt sick after long travel days. Especially after ones that took 36 hours or more. Now she was finally in the France Alps and feeling ill.
The first night she slept it off. Some good, proper sleep would help.
Or so she thought. Gem woke up the next morning, sprinting to the bathroom to vomit. She’d been nauseous after traveling before, but never enough to puke. Gem blamed the stress on top of the travel.
Walking out into the bedroom, she sees a slightly stirred Grian staring at her from their bed. She softly smiles at him before checking her phone.
“What time is it?” asks a sleepy Grian.
“Just after 4 in the morning,” Gem replies softly.
“Are you ok? You need anything for the nausea?”
“Maybe? I’ll grab some water and rest.”
She leaned over to give him a kiss before moving to the bedroom door. Peeking her head out, she heard movement coming from the kitchen. When she investigated further, she realized it was Lizzie.
“Good morning?” Lizzie asks with a questioning voice.
“Yeah, as long as the nausea and puking from all the travel stays away,” Gem replied.
“Puking? I thought you only got nauseous from traveling. Are you sure you’re ok?”
Lizzie knew from Gem’s previous visits that Gem got nauseous and headaches from traveling, but she’d never mentioned actually puking.
“I think so? I was going to grab some water and head back to bed,” Gem answered.
Lizzie stared at her for a second. Contemplating whether to tell Gem her thoughts.
“What?” Gem asked.
“Nothing. It’s nothing,” Lizzie said.
Gem didn’t believe her, “Tell me. What’s up?”
“You don’t usual get this sick from what I remember. I just think there’s a chance you might be…”
“Might be what? Actually sick?”
“No…um..pregnant?”
