Scott awoke to loud noises coming from somewhere nearby. "Shelby... what's going on..." he groaned, holding his head as he sat up. He waited for a response from his friend, but none came. His head hurt terribly and he held his eyes shut tight. It wasn't until he felt dirt under his hands that he opened his eyes. His vision was a bit blurry, but when the fog cleared, he realized he was lying on a dirt path. It seemed familiar, but he couldn't place it in his memory...
Scott stood up and dusted himself off. But instead of feeling his leather jacket he felt finely tailored fabric. When he looked down, he saw his old black and red suit. I haven't worn this since Oakhurst... he thought, confused. When he looked up and saw the large, pointed wall, he realized with a start that this was Oakhurst!
Scott heard voices coming from nearby. Before he could go investigate, someone ran into him, knocking them both to the ground.
"Oh! Oh no, I'm so sorry!" The one who had run into him shouted. It was a girl. She was wearing a white shirt with long, puffy sleeves, covered by a brown vest, and a simple green skirt. She offered a slightly dirty hand to help him up. 'Oh, what the hell... I'm already dirty' he thought and accepted her offer of help.
"Wow, that was a bit stupid of you Molly," said a guy from behind her.
She turned and chuckled slightly. "Yeah, it was..." she responded hesitantly.
Scott looked between the two. The man was wearing a very regal-looking outfit, consisting of white pants and a black coat with gold embroidery all over the front. He also had a sword on his belt, Scott took note. "It was fine, no one was hurt, yes?" Scott said with an edge. He hated this man just by the tone of his voice.
Molly nodded.
"Well, then I guess everyone is fine! My name is Alastor Nightingale. And you are...?"
"Scott. Scott Goldsmith," Scott said, chin raised. He was about the same height as this Alastor figure, save for the large hat that Alastor wore. Also, Alastor's last name sounded like a bird and that, in Scott's opinion, was stupid.
"Well!" Molly piped up, "How about we let Scott here go meet the others and stop taking up all his time?"
"Yes that sounds splendid," Alastor said as he walked off, followed by Molly.
Scott already knew who he'd kill first if he got hungry enough. He began to walk around, and it didn't take too long to find more people. He found a group of four people chatting. Among them he found Drift. "Drift!" he called.
"Scott!" Drift exclaimed, trotting over to him. "Finally, a familiar face. I was starting to think this would be like last time and I wouldn't know anyone, heh heh..."
"Last time?" asked one of the people Drift had been talking to, a woman with long blonde hair.
"Oh, I should explain. We were in this situation before. There was a bunch of people, not many of us knew how we had gotten to Oakhurst." Drift explained most of season one, except for one thing. She didn't say that she, Scott, and Shelby (whom they had yet to find) were vampires.
Scott decided she was right for not saying that there were vampires as she would have had to confess Scott himself was a vampire, and that wouldn't be too great for him. "Anyways, Drift," Scott smiled slightly, "would you mind introducing me to these people you just told our whole story to?"
"Oh, right, heh." Drift gestured to the blonde, the one who had spoken before, who was wearing a simple purple gown with white embroidery and gold accents. "This is wraps, but we've been calling her Rapunzel because of her hair." Next, she pointed to the second person, a man wearing a white and gold suit top with black long black pants and long black hair tied into a bun. "This is John Conhook. He doesn't say much, but apparently he's a really good fighter." Drift gave Scott a look, as if a warning. She turned to the last one, who was significantly shorter than the rest. "And this is Sophia." She had brown hair, cut as short as her stature. She wore a red and gold dress and a black crop-top-esque jacket.
Scott looked around at each of the people, before turning back to Drift. "You should continue to socialize; I'm going to go find our missing friend." He was referring to Shelby, obviously.
"Alright," Drift responded, "but I heard there's going to be a blood moon tonight from the news yesterday so... watch out for monsters." She said the last bit with a certain implication that Scott was sure no one else but him had caught.
"Alright, thanks for the warning, Drift." He walked off without another word. I need to talk to Drift and Shelby alone... Scott decided silently. If there was a blood moon that night that was when they should strike. Scott felt terribly hungry already. As he walked, Scott spotted a chicken wandering on the path through the village. He made sure no one was watching before he swiftly grabbed the chicken and... you can figure out the rest. He tossed the dry corpse behind a bush and went on his way up the path. Following the sounds of talking, Scott walked up to a house. He realized quickly that this was his and Shelby's house from last time... which led him to believe that whatever magic had brought him back here, had regenerated the village as well. Scott sighed and walked into the house.
Two people were talking inside the house, one of whom was Shelby. "Scott! I was looking for you earlier!" Shelby called. She grabbed Scott and pulled him into the cabin. "This is Aster," Shelby began, "I was just telling him how we were here before. He's been trying to convince me to go to a beacon."
A flash of alarm crossed Scott's face before he smoothed his features back into a neutral-type smile. "Ah, are you sure? There's going to be a blood moon tonight. It might get a bit dangerous."
"There's gonna be a blood moon??" Shelby seemed surprised.
"Yes." Scott thought for a moment. Actually, this could be good for us, he thought. "But, maybe we should go. It seems like a good idea to get a beacon early."
"Alright, I trust you!" Shelby smiled.
The one named Aster spoke up. "What importance does this blood moon have that makes you need to warn Shelby, Scott?"
"More monsters appear during the red moon. Why do you ask?" Scott responded wittily and suspiciously.
"Just asking."
"Okay... let's go! Unless you want to wait...?" Shelby asked, slightly laughing nervously.
"Of course, Shelby." Scott said, beginning to walk out. Aster and Shelby followed him.
