It Was Mine, But I Am Yours

Summary:

Midorikawa Shun never fell in love with anyone before. He believed that his feelings were confidential and no one should be leading it anywhere, but when Kuga Yuma came into his life, the thought of those beliefs began to shift in a way he’s never experienced before.

Notes:

Some said, when someone fell in love, the scenery of their world would be filled with sweet lovable filter.

Chapter 1: Phone Number

Chapter Text

It was the first time he’s ever felt that way.

“You're an A-Rank right? Apart from Scorpion, don't you have other weapons to use?"

Ba-dump

“This is fine,” The young boy looked at her face, stared right into her eyes. Those flaming red eyes that were no different than sunset looked back at him. “Using this, I can see our differences better.”

She smiled, that pretty lip perked up into a big smile as she grabbed her blade.

“Eh, I like that expression on your face better.”

He rushed straight toward her. Their Scorpions came across each other a few times. Their physiques weren’t so different, yet the white hair girl was able to intimidate her opponent. The boy’s glance followed the blade that flew out of his hand. He sensed the figure marching toward him, so he snapped his eyes back. Unfortunately, it was already too late, a glowing blade in her hands slashed across his chest.

Ba-dump

The falling boy stared at her face one last time before his body bailed out. Her gaze was genuine, and her expression was serious and unweaver.

Midorikawa fell on the mattress. He stared at the ceiling, her expression was still vivid in his mind. He closed his eyes and a smirk was displayed on his face. The loss was bitter but aside from that he couldn’t believe he didn’t feel any irate emotions. Actually, he couldn’t feel anything when his heart was beating faster than his own breathing. A smile she wore stuck in his mind.

Midorikawa realized right then that he fell in love with the girl before him.

“You’re pretty straightforward.” The white hair girl approached him after he apologized to her glass captain.

Midorikawa took a good time to observe the girl again, carefully this time. Well, despite being older than him, she was shorter, which was surprisingly rare, since almost every girl around his age was already taller than him. Her white curled hair was very outstanding and her bright red eyes were so complimentary to her face.

“Well, isn’t that what we agreed on, white haired-senpai.”

“I’m Kuga Yuma, just call me Yuma.” Yuma introduced herself with a carefree duck face.

Cute, Midorikawa thought. The eased atmosphere the girl gave was nothing like someone with the serious face he saw just now. The way she was so comfortable around him despite their ‘not so good first impression’ they had was surprising.

Yet, it was super attractive.

Just his type.

So cute.

After a while, Yuma left together with others. He watched her back as she was out of his sight. Before he could continue his daydreaming, Yosuke, who was whining, jumped in.

“Oh well. Midorikawa, wanna have a go.” He said with a smirk which made the younger boy snort.

“Hey, Yoneyan-senpai, I just lost miserably. I’m not in the mood.”

Midorikawa understood that Yosuke was Yuma’s acquaintance. The story of how they knew each other or how close they were shouldn’t be on his radar yet, but to his surprise, when Yosuke explained the tragedy Yuma had used, Midorikawa caught himself feeling something weird gushing inside his chest. Ever since he understood Yuma’s strength, he could easily guess that she was intentionally lost to him at the start, so what put him off was none of that, but the way Yosuke talked so casual and familiar like someone close to Yuma somehow made him uneasy.

Somehow that made the aching in his heart hurt more.

The young teen couldn’t describe it in any words. Love is complicated after all.

The older man couldn’t help but notice the glare he got, and his instinct instantly hit him like a light bulb went off. It was not the friendly-annoying ones they usually used to mess around with each other, but Yosuke sensed something more than that.

“What with the stare dude, got any complaints?” Yosuke warped his arm around Shun's shoulders, dragging him to the nearest seat. “I sense that you have something you wanna’ ask, spill it.” As they sat down, he confronted the younger boy. Shun couldn’t help but try to break eye contact, which of course, failed due to Yosuke’s commitment.

“Umm… I-I’m..” He knew Yosuke was super striving and he was never able to keep anything secret if this guy started to meddle in. “Just… wondering how you know Yuma-senpai..” His voice grew quieter as he finished that sentence.

Well, isn’t this interesting, thought Yosuke. He was capable of catching situations up fastly just like how his character was. A young teenager boy just asked him about another girl with a flushing face after their first meet. Interesting indeed.

“Hm? I just happened to meet her a couple of days ago. Why? Is there anything related to why you gave me that look?” He gave Shun a knowing smirk.

Shun jumped, his face was burning hot from embarrassment. “N-no! I mean, it did but it was just… I just thought it was weird..” But then he realised it wasn’t weird at all for Yosuke to be outgoing with anyone possible in the Border. The one that was being weird was nobody but him. Shun frowned, maybe he was really easy to read. “I… don’t know. It did feel weird, seeing you talk to her…”

“Well, well. I'm surprised you didn't catch on.” Yosuke waved his hands. He stopped for a moment to watch Shun’s dumbfolded face. “Of course, that’s jealousy! You were jealous when I talked to Kuga early. Isn’t it, lover boy~.”

Shun gave him a surprise jump in return. That was the first time he lost to someone his age. She won against him completely, but still accepted him as a rival. Shun fell for her because of that. She was cute, but hell, anyone would have thought that too.

Right?

Yosuke called it jealousy.

Was it?

He couldn’t figure it out.

As the time passed by, the second large scale invasion from Aftokrator came to attack. He hadn’t had the chance to meet with Yuma again since then, and the whole time the invasion occurred, he was with Yosuke and Isumi.

He thought, with Yuma’s strength, she could have easily survived the attack, even with only her trainee trigger. He didn’t have to worry about her, so as an A-rank, he must prioritise his job first.

After defeating humanoid Neighbor, his group were to move upon the order to protect C-rank agents evacuated. He felt relieved he wasn’t distracted and was able to focus the entire fight. Still, when they reached the crowded C-ranks and Osamu, Shun couldn’t hold his curiosity about where Yuma was, since she was nowhere to be seen. Hence, when he was told Yuma was out there fighting a black trigger, he was amazed. To be able to face a back trigger by her own, very impressive.

In the end, he didn’t run into Yuma during the invasion. When he visited the injured Osamu, he hoped to see Yuma there, but unfortunately, he did not. It’s been a while since they last met, and he hadn’t had a chance to rematch with Yuma. Well, of course, that was one of the reasons he came up with.

The real reason is something more simple than that.

He just missed her.

His face reddened up while a bite of grilled meat was in his mouth. He was having a good time at the Yakiniku with the same group that Asuma-san promised to treat them.

This time again, Yosuke caught him fantasizing red handed. He smirked and leaned to Izumi, whispering something to his ear. Izumi couldn’t help but choked at what he heard.

Now, there were two guys on this scheme without Shun Realizing.

Days went on, and Shun wasn’t able to contact Yuma, he didn’t even have her number in the first place, and there was almost no chance they would bump into each other at HQ since Yuma was Tamakoma agent. Right now, he found himself sitting in the monitoring room, watching the Lower B-Rank War’s match, which Tamakoma-2 was having their debut match.

Shun watched as Yuma easily took three points from one team, which was no surprise. Still, he was routing for her. He knew, by now, that her team was aiming for the Away Mission Team, so they must gain as many points as they could. He saw how determined Osamu was though TV, and he experienced how much Yuma could do for her captain. There was never a team that rocketed up to A-Rank in only one season, for all of that, he was cheering for Yuma to be able to achieve her goal. He even wished to do anything for her, but in his position, he found no way.

That night he had a Defend Duty with Tachikawa Squad. They were clearing up a hoard of trion soldiers in a part of the Restriction zones. Shun was just done with his portion while Tachikawa and Izumi were already finished. He turned to where he thought they would be and saw Izumi heading to his way while Tachikawa was messing with Yuiga, who was still dealing with Marmods.

“What is it, Izumin-senpai?” He gave him a deadpan face as he had a bad feeling, seeing Izumi approaching him with such a suspicious look. To be honest, he felt that the older man’d been glaring at his way the whole night.

“I heard you haven’t made your move yet.” Izumi, still wearing a dumb face, spun himself to Shun's side and leaned over him.

Shun, who tried to avoid it but failed, looked at his senpai in confusion. “What is ‘my move’ here?”

“Well, you know~” Izumi flicked his finger here and there. “About Kuga.”

Shun should have known. He should have been prepared. Izumi was just as sly as Yosuke after all.

“I don’t even need to ask where you heard that from.” He snared at Izumi. Maybe because he was in a trion body, he was still able to hold his composure, or maybe because he knew what the older shooter meant to say. Just maybe, he did think the same, he was also wondering why hadn’t he made his move yet.

“Well, this is convenient. Seems like we’re on the same page, so? Why haven’t you asked her out yet?” Izumi was also a person who wasn’t easy to escape when he started to pry on someone. Shun was surprised by his straightforwardness.

“That’s too soon! We just knew each other for days!” Shun quickly snapped his head back to the other man. “It just- I just- Shouldn’t we start from chatting or something first..? If I just have a chance to…”

“Well, you sure do have chances and reasons to do so. Just start by bringing her to the Solo Rank room and spend all day there.” Izumi let go of Shun and walked back to his teammates. “That’s what you attackers always do, isn’t it.”

So shallow, but it wasn’t like he could bring up any better ideas either, Shun thought. He was, as well, such an amateur in this.

“I… don’t even have her number…” Shun replied in defeat.

“Oh, yeah, right.” Izumi stopped, thinking about what Yosuke had told him.

“You remember Kuga, right?” Yosuke leaned to his side, asking him in a muttering voice, while they were enjoying a feast at Yakiniku.

“The neighbor at Tamakoma we were ordered to retrieve its black trigger?” Izumi did play along, whispering back to his friend, and Yosuke smirked as a reply. The black hair attacker didn’t say anything just yet, but he nodded his head to the other side, leading to one young teenage boy, who hadn't realized what’s going on.

“Well, this puppy right here has a big crush on her.”

Izumi almost choked on the meat in his mouth from holding back his laughter.

“Woah, Midorikawa-boy surely grows up fast, nevertheless, he plays it the hard way!” He’s quite close with Shun, since his squadmates weren’t usually available in the town, and because of his young age, Shun was always left here. He and the boy, and of course Yoneya, hung out a lot during their free time at the base or after school. That’s why he was very minded about the younger boy. “Normally I’d love to tease him to the ground with you, but hey, is it really alright?”

At the end of the day, Yuma was still a neighbor, and Izumi hadn’t got a chance to meet Yuma in person yet. The only things he knew were that the girl possessed a very powerful black trigger, she cared for Kyousuke’s pupil and she had yet done any harm to Border ever since a fight with Miwa Squad.

“I trusted Kuga, you know? She had a chance to kill me, but did not. I know she’d do everything for her captain, and she even tried to help Shuuji despite everything. In which any person possible Midorikawa’d fall for, she’s the least person I’d beware of.” Izumi knew Yosuke quite well, when he used this tone, it meant he’s serious.

“Is that so?” He moved his eyes to Shun, who was still oblivious to his surroundings when Asuma started to notice the situation and looked at him ,confused. “Then, I’d make sure to tag along ‘till the day they show up hand in hand.”

They both emitted devilish giggles, eyeing Shun, who looked up, very puzzled.

“Sure, sure. We are very good senpais after all”

“Isn’t being energetic and extraordinarily friendly your trademark? Have some faint in yourself, boy!” He waved his hand around, while walking away from the boy. “I’m sure your day will come, you just need to wait, and one day, Little puppy will finally take his first step.”

“I- I said it’s still too soon!”

“Haha, say that when your face’s not red.” This was indeed entertainment for Izumi, as he winked at a tomato red face boy.

“IT’S FROM ANGER.”

It was just a day after, that Shun was cornered by both Izumi and Yosuke in any possible moments. It was like he was being ganged up on. They even showed up at his Squad room just to leave bunches of Shojou manga at his door, ‘for references’ they said. After they got into Shun’s nerve, he chased them away. He swore he’d die from embarrassment one day if this kept going on.

knock knock knock

The young boy was now quite annoyed, what would those two, not yet fully grown up yet, adults had to do with him again. In one mind, he thought about just ignoring them.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Or perhaps not.

He got out of his seat and moved to the automatic door. Shun touched the panel for the door to slide open, expecting to see one of those two sly faces. Instead, right before him was a familiar white haired person standing there, one hand, ready to knock the door again, gently lower down. Shun was not prepared, they were standing so close, and their eyes stuck on each other.

IWMBIY0101

“Oh, hey, Midorikawa. I was told you were here.” She carelessly greeted him with zero hesitation, while Shun, on the other hand, didn’t even keep his composure at all. “Are you free right now?”

“U- uh, uh– I!” Stuttered, the poor boy. They hadn’t met for weeks and suddenly she was here, at his squad door. “I am free! I mean- Is there anything that I can help you with?”

“Yeah, I want to ask you about something. Sorry, I’ll be staying only for a short time, can we hop on real fast to somewhere else?” Yuma answered, tilted her head to the side as she wondered, and pointed her finger away to the side.

“EH?! You mean, the two of us?” Only the two of them, was what Shun meant to say.

“? Yeah, to the solo rank booth.” Shun’s shoulders slumbled down. Man, he should have known. Maybe he put up too much hope, but in the meantime, he felt relieved. At least, it would be a normal hangout, like Izumi’d said, a normal stuff Attackers had in common.

“O-of course, Yuma-senpai!” After collecting his mind, he left no hesitation and immediately closed his squad room, since he had almost no stuff to grab along. “Let’s go.”

Yuma nodded and they walked side by side to the elevator. Yuma was walking a bit faster than Shun, so she was a bit ahead of him, but the boy didn’t pay any mind to it. He gladly walked behind her, since he couldn’t contain his excitement and he highly believed that he must be looking very stupid right now, stupidly in love.

After a while, his face became slightly redder. Like, how could he not? His crush, who he hadn’t seen for weeks, was right in front of him, asking to spend some time with him. Even if it was just by chance, he was happy she chose to spend time with him too.

Yuma looked the same as before, which was obvious, since it’d only been days, but even her surroundings and atmosphere are also the same. In the younger boy's eyes, she was as fine as ever.

“How have you been, senpai? It’s been a while and I didn’t get a chance to see you during the invasion.” As they both were facing toward the elevator door, Shun was the first one to start the conversation.

“Is it?” She wondered, “Well, everything is going well right now. Except for Osamu wallowing himself down into the rank war.” The girl shuggled a bit at the thought.

“Oh yeah, your previous one was super cool, Yuma-senpai. You broke the record!” The boy excitedly exclaimed.

“I simply did what I was told to do so.”

“Even so, senpai. It was very impressive.”

Yuma turned her head to face Shun. She looked into Shun's eyes and felt nothing wrong. Her SE didn’t go off, which implied he meant every word he said. Such a genuine compliment never came from anyone's heart, was what she learnt from spending her life at Calvania. Nevertheless, the only sincere ones by her aid back then were only Raymond and his children. For that reason, living here in Mikado City sure did relax her mind. Being an agent border here, she didn’t need to put her guard up so much anymore.

“Thanks, Midorikawa.” She smiled back at the boy, frankly happy from the honesty she received.

Again, that was the smile Shun fell for. A smile so pretty that his heart skipped its beat. Shun was speechless and it caused Yuma to look at him confusedly. As the younger boy snapped out of his fantasy, he scurriedly replied back.

“I-It was nothing, senpai-!” Shun’s face was burning hot, mainly from embarrassment, he got his tongue twisted. “You’ll surely do just fine in your next match too..” He turned his face away since he couldn’t bear saying that to her directly. The size of the elevator which always looked huge felt cramped all of the sudden.

“Sure thing. I need to do my best for my team too, that’s why I need you right now.” THAT sentence contained no hidden intention for Yuma, but it got Shun stun.

Shun knew he was going to spout nonsense if he said any more words, thankfully, before he could let out a sound, a loud pinch noise from the elevator, telling them they had reached their destination, interrupted him.

They walked out and headed to the crowded room, on their way to the booth, Shun picked the most simple question he could think of right now to resume their conversation.

“Um.. Senpai, you haven’t told me what you want me to do yet.” He said. “J-Just asking though! You can ask me anything, if I’m able to grant it, I’ll do.”

“Oh, I watched some of your logs with Shiori-chan, and I’m wondering if you could demonstrate to me that option trigger you used.” She answered.

“Option Trigger?”

“The one that makes you leap from place to place super fast.” Grasshopper it is then, Shun knew that Yuma was a very strong fighter, but he didn’t expect her to suddenly want to learn a new trigger so soon. Even he needed more time to adjust than this before he could add an option trigger when he was a new official agent.

“Senpai, tha–” Shun didn’t realize they’d walked into the lounge already, so when a murmur cut him mid sentence, he looked back at the source of it.

“Isn’t that Kuga from Tamakoma?”

“Yeah, the one who got six points from Rank war.”

“She’s with Midorikawa too. Are they going to fight?”

“Thier previous ten-round match was thrilling! Let’s watch.”

That wasn’t unexpected. With her performance, she would definitely stand out. Shun’s afraid that the crowd would grow bigger than this, while Yuma was yet to notice the gathering.

“Let's use those rooms on the left, there're two available.” Yuma said, continuing her way to one of the spare rooms. Shun blinked, and quickly turned back to follow her.

Shun watched as Yuma walked into one of the rooms and asked him to go to the next one. The boy closed the door and stared at nothing in the empty familiar room, heart still beating fast. He took a good minute to breathe in and out there at the back of the door. Once he’d done collecting his mind, he walked to the computer in the room and activated it. In an instant, a notification from the room next door, requesting to dial this room popped up. He wasted no time accepting it.

“Hey, Midorikawa.” A voice from the other side of the screen filled the room. “Let’s get through this, shall we?”

“You got it, senpai.” Shun replied to it as he arranged their match on the computer. “So, a ten-round battle like before?”

“Ah, sorry, I can’t really be here very long. I just want some demonstration of that trigger, so just a one-round match maybe?” Yuma replied in the most apologetic tone she could make.

“Okay, one-round match, and I show you grasshopper, it is then.” He entered that down on the monitor, ready to press start. “Try to attack me from behind, I’ll show you the move.”

At once, they got transferred into the map. They were standing on the roof of some buildings. Shun spotted Yuma from a house away. He signaled the girl to move to another spot, and she easily complied. He dashed to a better area to use his grasshopper, and after a quick observation, he found the perfect place. A height difference housing area, even if it’s Yuma, there’s no way she could counter it.

Shun landed on a building and activated his scorpion. Yuma saw that and so she did too. The girl jumped from house to house following the other agent. The moment they were in each other's blades' ranges, they began sparring. Their blades crashed multiple times as they slowly moved from their ground. Shun was the first one to break contact and made some space between them.

“Even so, to suddenly come and ask me to teach you an option trigger, you’re unpredictable as always, Yuma-senpai.” Shun talked again once he got a chance to take a breath between their duels.

“Sorry about that, next time let’s have a real ten-round match to make up for this, alright?”

Next time

“For real?! You have your word!” He would look forward to it. A smile poked up his cheek. Just thinking about it, about spending time with her and the fact that she was the one bringing it up, impressed him even more. “C’mon, let’s do it.”

Shun hopped over buildings and after he read Yuma moves carefully, he placed down a grasshopper. He easily got Yuma out of guard with it and took her down in a go. He watched as Yuma fell from where she jumped midair, then bailed out when her trion core broke.

The battle was over, it was a one-round fight after all.

“Man, shouldn’t you at least buy me a drink.” He complained as he picked up his own drink.

“That was called grasshopper, I take? The one you used to leap earlier.”

“Yep, it’s for tomorrow's rank war right? Will it help you?” Shun wondered, above all, he hadn’t done anything except for using it once.

Yuma looked at him and smiled, a big one her eyes closed shut. “Yeah, thank you for showing me some good stuff.”

A smile so bright he could go blind. The poor boy’s heart almost jumped out of his chest. His entire body sparked in a flash and went numb as if he had no strength left. His fingers loosened that even a second later a cold juice in his hand would probably slip off his grip.

IWMBIY0102

“O-of c, c- course, senpai! I- I say— It really w-was nothing. As long as it helps y..you, I, uh…” The boy was so embarrassed he wished he dug himself down into the ground right then and there. He slowly tried to calm his mind down, despite his contrasting beating heart and burning face.

“Aww, isn’t this the little puppy, lover boy, Midorikawa-kun of Kusakabe Squad~” Yosuke mockingly sang out loud for the boy to hear.

Shun flinched at the word and spun his head back at the source of it. What he saw, standing there with no shame at the other squad room front door, were not only Yosuke but also Izumi with a very annoying carefree smile on his face.

“Oh! I have ‘absolutely’ no idea our new born puppy had already grown so much” Izumi gasped dramatically, which was a super fake one if any person might say.

“You guys have guts saying that in my squad room!” He spat back, as he stood up from where he was sitting. “And how in the world did you open my door?!”

“Let’s say maybe you will be more careful with your surroundings next time when you open the doorlock.” The number one shooter acted cool and replied.

So shameless! Not adults at all!!

“W-What do you guys want from me?!” The spear user walked into the room openly. He held a package of something in his hand while Izumi stayed at the door.

“Don’t worry, don’t worry. We’re just passing by to drop something reeeally important for you.” Yosuke dropped the rectangle shape package in a cloth wrapped on the table in the middle of the room. The wrap completely sealed what inside it, so Shun was unable to know what was this mysterious stuff. However, being something from these two, plus, how they bragged in full of themselves, it wouldn’t be something salutary. He should change his room lock passwords soon.

Shun looked cautiously between the package in front of him and the two of them. Yosuke wasted no time and unsealed the wrap and showed what it contained.

“Taadaa! Best Seller, Shoujo Manga of all time, full edition. It has every possible love route you can take as references to hit on Kuga!” He explained as he picked up one of them to show off. Shun never actually into this kind of Manga, so he never once and never had a thought to try them, at all. He knew well why these two brought him the books. These two were the only people right now that knew about him having a crush on Yuma and it made him even more embarrassed and unsettled. “Chance never served you on your plate by itself, y’know? You must create it on your own!”

Shun was speechless, maybe from how they were so serious about this or maybe from how they, two almost fully grown teens, could do something so stupid, so nonsense. Nevertheless, he could die from his chagrin right now.

“T-Thi—This is- is..!” He was about to say something when Yosuke patted him on the shoulder.

“You say no more words.” He closed his eyes as he said like he meant no joke about this. “I recommend you read volume 3 first. Definitely the foremost chapters for a lover boy to ask his crush for a phone number! >w0”

It was a joke after all.

“Maybe you’ll gain some confidence so your face won’t go bright red like that in front of her,” Izumi added, laughing at the scene. “Oh, and read them all you want, those are all Yoneya’s collections.”

“Hey, treat them like first hand will ya’?”

“GET OUT WILL YOU???”

Gosh, why did he need to remember this now. Those guys were just there in his room minutes ago, talking all over the place about this. Though, maybe they were right, he was a hopeless boy with no experience in love and had no confidence to bring himself upfront when it came to Yuma. He didn’t know what he should do or say in this situation.

Yuma stared at him confusely, a drink in her hand lowered down. Her wonder about what’s wrong with the other boy placed over her face.

He should have read those manga if he knew this would happen.

“Chance never served you on your plate by itself, y’know? You must create it on your own!”

“Isn’t being energetic and extraordinarily friendly your trademark? Have some faint in yourself, boy!”

No, be himself. Have faith in himself.

“I’m happy I could help you.” He blurted out loud and clear. No lies nor hesitation in his voice. He locked his eyes on Yuma, completely genuine and confident.

Yuma blinked then let out a soft giggle, “What was that.”

“I mean it, senpai!” He whined, since she seemed to not believe him.

“I know, I know.”

“From now on too, if you want anything, you could ask me.” He wouldn’t care anymore, he was going to say it. Forgot those love troupe stuff he was told about, he would be straightforward about his feelings. Love with no experience and so what?! He couldn’t even describe his emotions in words, how could he expect to follow some advice from a fictional book or from some other teenagers who probably didn’t have these kinds of experiences either. Maybe he could learn those later, but now, he was going to say it..

That he liked her.

“Senpai, I’m actually..”

Say it

“Wanted to ask…”

Shun took a deep breath.

“……….If I can have your number..”

He could not. It was too soon after all. His body and mind weren’t ready for that. Though, wasn’t this what he aimed for in the beginning?

“You mean my phone number?” Yuma took another sip from her drink after Shun ended his sentence.

“Yeah, like, so you could contact me if you need anything, you wouldn’t have to come all the way to my squad room too!” Shun panickedly explained. “And! We can chat about anything, t-totally normal stuff friends do.”

“Sure. That sounds nice.” Yuma pulled out her phone, opened her contact, then lent it to Shun.

The young boy gasped in his mind. He instantly brought out his phone too. He gradually typed down the numbers on his own phone while holding up his excitement.

IWMBIY0103

“Thank you senpai,” He pulled his phone back but still held it tight in his hand while Yuma put it back into her pocket. “I’ll look forward to your match tomorrow.”

“Of course, thanks to you, I’d do a lot better.” She put the empty bottle away and looked back to focus on the younger agent. “I need to go now, see you later, Shun.”

His heart jumped out of its place again. Finally, a first name basis! That meant they became closer now, right???

“Yea…h. Later, senpai.” He watched as Yuma walked away, waving him goodbye, and waved back. When she was out of his sight he then put down his hand.

Shun let out a long relieved sigh. His heart had calmed down a bit by the time, but his mind was out of place. He stood still at where they had talked. His body was still aching from all the sudden excitement, but he believed this was a good progress he had made. He didn’t regret not saying his feelings for her today, there would be next time after all.

Yuma promised to fight him in a ten-round battle next time. No good! He needed to be prepared. Shun decided to go back to his squad room for a self practice.

So I won’t disappoint her!

He tightened up his fists, when out of nowhere, a notification sound rang from his phone in that hand. He shifted his eyes to it and was about to read whose text it was when he landed his sight on the message first.

Yoneya Yosuke:

Well, well, well I just heard an interesting rumor that you are with the chibi rn;)

Why had he never learned in the first place, again, he should have known. He replied a curse back at it before closing the chat. At the main menu of his contact numbers, the name ‘Yuma-senpai’ on one of all the lists made him stop scrolling. He clicked on it and saw an empty chat history, a proof of the newly added number. He wondered what he should text as a first conversation, but a thousand worried thoughts hit him like a truck. How could he act cool in a text while still sounding like himself.

Maybe those manga still had their purpose left.

What could be used, should be used. Right?

Those things aside, a young teenage boy who was deeply in love for the first time, stared at the phone’s screen with an overflowing feeling of ‘desire’, he realized by now.

A love that formed in a fight they had in their first meet. That last round when she sliced through his heart, he mesmerized how his feelings wouldn’t move an inch away from her. Even though it was his, but he was hers now. How her face looked, her voice sounded, her body moved, and how genuine her feeling was, they were all perfect to him. Just being with her, no one would know how happy he was. He wished these wonderful days would continue.

IWMBIY0104

He was just a hopeless boy in love after all.

That's chapter one. Thank you for reading, After finishing this chap I have a thought about ending the story here since the ending is kinda open-ended. Though, I have drafts for the 2 chaps+1 extra, I don't think I can get them done any time soon, but since I already started it, I'll try to finish them.

What I'm trying to say is, I don't know when I will put the next update, soooooo see you guys soon?

The reason I made Yuma a girl.... cuz it's cute! I have no problem with lil boy Yum Yum, but I just wanna make it this way;() and actually, OsaYuma is so cute, but I rarely see ShunMa as a ship, like, there's a lot of bromance of this two soo, yea-

The story is mine, the art is also mine, ReyFenu112. Thank you
