At first Pugsley was thrilled to have Slurp back with him!
After the carnival Pugsley had found Slurp half regenerated he had told Pugsley that they had tried to kill him at Willow Hill and that he had broken out but only able to wander around looking for prey to consume in hopes to regenerate fully. To Pugsley's surprise before he could offer to let Slurp/Isaac run when he heard Chief Santiago's voice Slurp/Isaac asked him first-
"Pugsley can you take me back in?"
At first Pugsley was surprised that Slurp wanted him to be the one to take care of Slurp when Slurp had broken out of the Hummershed to escape the first time from him but he wasn't going to deny he had missed Slurp while he was missing so he said yes he said that he would take in Slurp again under two conditions
-Slurp (he was corrected when Isaac blurted out his name was Isaac, Isaac Night and he said he preferred that name over his pet name Slurp. Even though Pugsley knew Isaacs real name he still acknowledged the correction) wasn't allowed to wander school grounds or attack anyone and if he did Pugsley wouldn't be able to defend Isaac then and Isaac agreed
the second one was
-Isaac wasn't allowed to leave Pugsley only he was allowed to know about Isaac's existence here in Nevermore again
Isaac was more then happy to agree to that term so with those two set they both ran out the emergency exit of the carnival and back towards Nevermore thankful that most the guards were at the carnival still for the incidents and security seemed thin successfully getting Isaac into his and Eugene's dorm room knowing Eugene rarely came back to the dorm.
That was about a month ago though the focus having shifted from the escaped zombie to the still active and dangerous hydes which was also Wednesday's fixation at the moment but Pugsley had become much happier around school much different then his first month of Slurps disappearance Eugene had noticed but of course never bothered to ask so he didn't
The reason Pugsley became so much happier though? Was of course because of Isaac, Pugsley had found a way to get Isaac a small supply of brains a humane way! He got a part time job at the morgue and successfully stole some parts of some ruined brains for Isaac to eat when he got back so after a month and then some of that Isaac regenerated fully needing the occasional brain which he started keeping spares or extras for when it happened but the best part? Isaac was by choice staying with Pugsley! Isaac had talked to Pugsley a lot more and conversation was actually a lot of fun when someone actually responded and talked back
During a few times they talked Pugsley talked about his life like he had when Isaac was Slurp and Isaac despite remembering let Pugsley rant anyways only remembering blurry parts and ending up feeling rather bad for Pugsley which led to Isaac hugging Pugsley and learning Pugsley loved physical touch but was deeply deprived
It led to them in a basic sense cuddling in Pugsley's bed Isaac having to mostly lay on Pugsley and his chest unless he died again to the thick layer of dust laying on Pugsley's sheets and blankets despite Pugsley saying he slept on them every night and having proved he lived in the bed then again he also said he liked the feeling of the dust.
Pugsley was just happy to have Isaac in his bed and hugging him he felt a deep warmth in his cold hollow chest he thought it was the ticking of Isaac's clockwork heart or the weight of Isaac's head on his chest but it was more of in his ribcage almost near his lungs or spine he wondered if this is what his parents felt if this is what people called happiness or love Pugsley liked it a lot it felt really nice having another person holding him besides his own arms so he curled around Isaac a bit closer and held him tightly by his shoulders relaxing that warm feeling growing through his body his sharp sense of smell melting as he smelled Isaac's rustic, leather like and coal tinged scent of course he smelled metal and oil but mostly from his own machine building hands and Isaac's curls.
He ended up falling asleep with Isaac in his arms on his chest and Isaac stayed only getting up when he heard Eugene's steps a few hallways over sitting up and leaving Pugsley's forms not before pressing a soft kiss to the sparks cheek getting a small zap but smiling before skittering to his hiding trunk right as Eugene came in
