Coil, only known for mostly being annoying and bothering slingshot or staying with his friends, now found himself at slingshot’s doorstep, a rare sight, but a necessary one. Turns out that slingshot didn’t show up at the cafe today, but he wasn’t home either! And his siblings took care of the cafe while asking, out of all people possible, for COIL to go check the house again. So there he was. Deep inside, he was worried too. Who would he annoy if slingshot was dead or something???? he knocked on the door a few times. No response. After another try or so, he yelled: “SLINGSHOT!! ARE YA HERE???”. It was meant to go unanswered, but this time he heard a faint meow. Way too sweet to be slingshot’s, but it was something. He waited a bit, another one came, more desperate, almost sound like a little baby crying for help. “Slingshot you okay??? hello???????” he heard more and more meows that DEFINITELY came from that apartment. He didn’t have any keys to it tho. But… what if slingshot was… in DANGER??? MAYBE BEING CRUSHED BY GOD KNOWS WHAT????? The thought of seeing someone he cared about killed him, and soon he found himself breaking open the door. Why the hell was he even doing that for slingshot anyway- OH MY GOODNESS. WHAT IS THAT. Coil stared in awe at a kitten really similar to slingshot who’s eyes lit up when he saw him. He came running towards his feet waiting for him to do something. IT WAS THE CUTEST THING HE’D EVER SEEN, BUT….. HOW THE HELL DID IT END UP HERE?? DID SLINGSHOT GIVE BIRTH OR SOMETHING?? As he stared at the creature, it meowed and began scratching his feet. He picked it up with one hand. Was it asking to be held maybe? Or was it hungry? OR BOTH?
Coil had no idea how to even care for the little one, he didn’t grow up with any small babies around him, only grown wolves… wait, he is gonna take care of it??? oh… The baby began to rub on his hand, and he quickly began to pet it, which made it happy! Happy enough it began to purr! IT WAS SO CUTE! It definitely seemed a bit weak and slim, so ignoring the fact he broke into an apartment that now had it’s door broken, he went to look for some meat in slingshot’s fridge. He quickly found some, and put it to defrost on the microwave, the little one seemed happy and super interested in the meat. Coil now held the baby with two hands, which it seemed to like as it laid down cutely, purring, as it received so many pets from coil. Coil was WAY too happy seeing that little thing.. specially because it reminded him so much of slingshot… wait…. “Slingshot!” coil called. The baby immediately stared at him with shiny eyes, who were now open upon hearing that word, it kept on purring, waiting for more pets.
No. no. no. no. NO WAY!!! THIS IS SLINGSHOT??? HE TURNED INTO A CUTE BABY?????? WHAT????? HAHAHA… I’M GONNA REMIND HIM EVERY DAY ABOUT THIS!…. About.. how cute he looked.. and how much I wanted to give him so many little kisses, and pet his little fluffy belly, and bop him, and and… GAH! NO! WHAT AM I THINKING? I DON’T WANNA DO ANY OF THAT! Although it would be great…. Yeah……. NO COIL SHUT UP…! HE IS NOT CUTE IN ANY WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! * BEEP BEEP BEEP *. The meat finished defrosting, and the baby kept staring at him with it’s shiny eyes, then glanced the microwave, waiting. It’s not like it could do much, after all they are only a baby. Coil put slingshot in the counter and got the meat out of the microwave, then got a few pieces in front of him, he gladly ate it all, and then went back to staring at coil.
Coil picked slingie up and then booped his little nose. “I will put you in my hoodie’s pocket alright little guy? Tell me if it’s not comfortable!” coil did as he said, and slingshot enjoyed it, purring. “Now the door situation.. guess I’ll have to pay for a new one.. it’s only fair..” he then called someone to fix the door, payed for it and went over to the siblings to hand them over the new keys and apologize.
_ “Hey guys.. you won’t believe this but.. since there was no key I ended up breaking down your door cause I thought I heard something, but turns out it was nothing! Sorry… I already got it fixed and payed for it, here are the new keys..”
_ “YOU DID WHAT???? COIL!!! you were supposed to look for him, not break into our apartment!!!! but at least you paid for it.. you will have to pay for the 2 copies of the keys too.” vinestaff said
_ “WHAT- I mean.. fine… it’s only fair if I do so…”
_ “Can you look for slingshot around crossroads next? The cafe won’t give us any spare time still…” shuriken asked politely
_ “Sure! Don’t worry about it, I will find him heh!”
coil leaves quickly after that.
_ “And there he goes… ugh.. I hope slingshot Is okay..” vinestaff commented as they watched him walk away.
_ “me too.” shuri replied.
Was I the only one who heard some faint purring coming from near coil tho??? I must be imagining things.. wolves don’t purr.. (Vine’s thoughts)
Coil went and took a train home, playing with slingshot along the way and petting him, the baby certainly adored it. Once they got home, slingshot explored the place for the first time, curious, and then got fed some tuna. Coil had some string around, which he used to play with the fur ball, and after that coil picked him up at the end of the day and took him to his bed, where coil fell asleep watching slingshot bathe themselves with their little tongue while laid down next to his pillow.
Once coil woke up again, he was hugging the actual slingshot’s waist, confused on where his fur ball went, but slingshot was blushing trying to get his hand off of him, to which after a few seconds of realization he quickly let go, shy and also blushing.
_ “Where am I?…. AND WHY WERE YOU HOLDING ME???”
_ “Where is my baby? D:”
_ “???????? WHAT. Wait… ……… I WAS A KITTEN BEFORE?? WHAT. WHAT TO THESE MEMORIES MEAN???”
_ “OKAY WAIT I CAN EXPLAIN! I think you got turned into one of those bean things, but like as a baby.. and so I took care of you! Nothing else I swear!!”
_ “… YOU KIDNAPPED ME INSTEAD OF TELLING MY SIBLINGS?????”
_ “UH.. no.. your purrs meant consent.. you did this to yourself…”
_ “????? BOY WHY DID YOU DO THAT???”
_ “ D: you were too cute so I wanted to take care of you myself…”
_ “?????” he blushes slightly “how will I even get home now.. my siblings must be so worried….”
_ “Don’t worry, I’ll pay you a train ride! I can even go with you so you don’t get lost! Its the least I can do.”
_ “Okay.. do you have anything edible in your house.. I need to eat something..”
_ “? OF COURSE I HAVE FOOD!”
_ “hmm… you sure?”
Slingshot cooks a delicious breakfast for him and coil, and then coil pays him a train and helps him get back home!! coil finds him way cuter after this and slingshot grows a little bit softer with him!
