Chapter Text
You always depended on your brother too much for Naoya's liking.
Gojo Satoru had no family other than you, his beloved little sister, so when the Zen'in clan and the Gojo clan married you to Naoya, your brother was highly against it. The two clans had always been at each other's throats, and your marriage was meant to mend broken bridges.
Your union was rocky from the start.
You were used to cocky men; your brother was none other than The Honored One, so you could handle a bit of ego. Satoru wasn't the unkindest, especially not to you, but he was full of himself. You had figured that your husband would be much the same, but you had been horribly wrong.
You had not been prepared for the possessiveness of Naoya's love, and fleeing from it wasn't an option. Naoya's affection was violent, perhaps not in the physical sense, but emotionally, he had you wrecked. You had tried to do your duty; you had tried to love Naoya as a good wife was supposed to, and in certain aspects, you did love him. You loved the one thing Naoya had given you; your daughter.
Runa was the spitting image of her father, but the sweetness of her little soul soothed you in ways you could not explain. You could not truly hate Naoya, because without him, you would not have your daughter.
Something had shifted in the coming years, though. Satoru had visited less and less due to Naoya's influence, so you were alone, feeling abandoned by your only family. Naoya, ecstatic to have you all to himself, degrades your brother to you, almost convincing you of Satoru's negligence.
"'The Greatest' they call him, and yet he cannot even visit his poor sister."
You had started to believe Naoya's words, up until the Zen'in compound erupted in his rage.
"I'll kill him, he's dead!"
The aftermath of whatever Satoru had done was messy.
Naoya had you locked in a room with your daughter, the doors shackled with cursed energy and guards placed outside. You didn't have the time to worry about what was happening, not with the panicking baby in your arms, her throat sore from crying so much. You supposed that Runa could sense something was happening, but you couldn't be entirely sure. The constant raging coming from her father wasn't helping, surely.
Satoru had come for you, you had learned, and despite sharing a child, your marriage to Naoya had been annulled.

"Hush, sweet girl," you coo, bouncing Runa in your lap as she giggles sweetly.
It was more comfortable here; in the place you were raised alongside your brother. It had been a lonely place back then, but Runa had lightened things like a little bundle of lightning bugs. Here, you could raise your daughter without fear of her being corrupted by the evil men around her.
Because big brother Satoru would protect you.
"Gojo Satoru has been sealed."
You had no protection.
You had no peace.
You lost your family in Shibuya.
"You should've known better than to leave me, but when big brother calls, you come, don't you?"
Naoya's voice is strangely calm, and that bothers you more than his anger ever could. You could deal with his rage, with his possession, with everything else that came with being loved by Naoya.
But this?
This frightened you.
You yelp as Naoya grips you by the arm. He drags you up to your feet, leading you towards the door, Runa in his other arm.
She was happy to see her father, but she could sense your distress as Naoya nears the exit of the Gojo estate.
You panic then, not on purpose to anger him, but because you can't bear to lose the last piece of your family.
"Naoya, please-"
He yanks you one hard time, and you stumble off of your family compound, your heart shattering in your chest.
"We're going home," Naoya says, a sick smile playing on his lips as he looks at you crumble at his feet. He lets go of you, bringing his other arm up to properly hold your daughter, his fingers playing with the soft black hair on her head.
"And once you come back, you aren't ever leaving again."
You sob.
