this is not a place for heroes.
wisp is a hostile server, where lives matter. there are countless of power-hungry people who would not hesitate to manipulate others, to steal, to ban. pootoot has witnessed a lot, being on his last life and spending so long around spawn, bonding with so many while he fishes. this is the beauty of anarchy, isn't it? there are no rules, no morals. everyone has their nuances, see things in a way that no one else does, do anything they can to have an upper hand, to not lose their gear, their lives, their role in this grand plotline not even him can control. there is no black or white, no right or wrong, only survival. it's the perfect movie; the border between a real threat with consequences and a pointless online game is incredibly thin. the actors feel believable beause there is no script given to them, they act and react spontaneously and you can never know what they will bring to the table. it's enticing.
slushly, however, sickens him.
every series needs a hero, yeah, that is not wrong. but even heroes have flaws. even heroes have to struggle between their actions, have to do what is deemed immoral here and there. but the guy simply refuses to do anything wrong, ever. and if he realises he's in the wrong, he backs down immediately, tries to fix things. hah, fix! there is no fixing to do, nothing is broken! not in the traditional sense of the word, at least. because the server being so twisted and unpredictable could be considered something worth the fix, but instead, pootoot thinks slushly is the one who needs to change instead.
the server doesn't need fixing. slushly needs to break.
and pootoot knows how to destroy a hero's complex. it's inhumanly impossible to be flawless: perfect heroes have flaws too, even if his flaws are so pathetic and predictable. in fact, that just makes his whole schematic a lot much easier. the hero mentality is so shallow and small that it is very easy to bend it until it implodes on its own. slushly values being good too much for his own good, but this world is anything but kind. any other wisp player is anything but friendly, hell, slushly himself isn't all that sweet despite his stupid heroic pride assuring him otherwise. that is blinding, and pootoot will make sure to open his eyes one way or another.
he has a plan. several, in fact. because he knows the task won't be easy, but he doesn't know how stubborn the guy is. so he makes levels, bends the narrative in ways that any other player would not see a kind way out, but at the end of the day, he knows he's dealing with a too-good-for-this-world hero. so he has a perfectly crafted finale in case he fails him, a last episode that cannot fumble at all. because heroes care, and amongst the many flaws they have, that's the most pathetic of them all.
and the easiest to use, too.
and with that, the stage is set. he removes his onesie, exchanging for one of a green colour instead. he takes a fallen player's armour, doesn't care how it makes him look stupid and weak. it's all part of the plan, anyway. he goes out to fish, as he does every other day, but this time, a pilot of his favourite show will come out. it's exciting, and once the protagonist walks in, he looks the other way, pretends not to see him.
