Sudden stops and conversations

Summary:

After a rough patch of the road, the train stops for repairs in the middle of a forest.

Notes:

Hi! I joked under a tik tok that i kinda want to write something to see if the ao3 curse is real. Then, several days later, even before I decided to actually write, my abdomen started to hurt out of nothing. It didn't stop till night, so I wrote this at 2 in the morning while i still can. I'll update if something happens/changes. But jokes(no pun intended) aside, i want to know your opinion.(And yes this is inspired dy an audio). Personally, I'm stisfied with what came out,and considering the tons of lore and ideas i have, i may continue writing.

Work Text:

Afternoon light bounced between falling leaves, filling the forest with soft golden rays of sunlight. Creaks and clanks ringed through the crisp but warm autumn air as work went on. A pair of saffran eyes watched a pair of gloved hands doing the repairs, or, perhaps, their owner. Elysia stood leaning against the wagon doorway, patintely waiting, while Lain was sitting on the roof of the train, hunched over an open communication shaft.

Elysia said, finally breaking prolonged silence: "What did you want to be when you were small?"
"Hmm?" hummed the white haired one, not ceasing her work.
"You didn't want to be this, I'm sure of that. No child wants to become something like you..."
"I wanted to be a healer." she contiued after a bit, putting her auburn hair behind the ear
"A healer?"
"Yes."
"They help and save many people,healers..."

Silence stretched once again, as Lain had finished her assignment and wanted to say something- but suddenly train shook and started moving, slowly picking up speed. Silverine hair started wavering in the breeze, black horns on top picking up winds vibrations.
"Looks like the issue at the front is fixed."
Closing the shaft, Lain started desending the ladder near the wagon door.
"We should get inside and head towards the rest of the crew before we get too close to the tunnel."
"Sure, let's go." Elysia agreed, helping her companion get into the car and sliding the doors shut.
