It’s been three days since Sirius got back from Europe, and she spent a lot of time away from home racing in different foreign countries, from London to Italy to France, and after two years she’s finally back
being back home is great, welcomed by many of her people, her peers and her fans, good thing her room at the dorm still available and no one took her bed, because there’s no one in this academy is more suitable to be her roommate than Nakayama Festa
However, there’s only one problem, she can’t seem to rest her mind during nighttime, for whatever reason sleeping was a difficult task
Sirius had troubles to deal with sleeping even abroad, moving from one country to another, different hotel almost everyday, usually she would just take a pill to help her fall asleep, but Nakayama wasn’t pleased when Surius tried to take one in front of her on her the first night after returning home
sure it helps, but letting her body gets used to chemical treatments is not gonna help her on the long term way, so Nakayama been helping Sirius finding different and safer ways to fall asleep
They tried herbal treatments, spiritual therapy…
still, nothing seems affective
”Sirius..” Nakayama groans, half asleep forcing herself to sit up, Sirius been rolling around and shifting in her bed constantly trying to find the position where she can fall asleep in for hours now, but nothing seems working
”ah.. sorry” she stopped when she saw Nakayama waking up, rubbing her eyes before turning on the light of her bedside lamp to look at the other girl
“That tea from Stego didn’t help either?” She asked, yawning
No signs of frustration in her sleepy voice, just genuine concern, Sirius doesn’t know if she should feel glad or bad about that
“It didn’t..”
Sirius sighed sitting up as well, looking at the time on her phone screen, its already past midnight
“Hey, Surius” her eyes shifted to Nakayama when she called, blinking in confusion when she saw her open arms stretched out ahead towards her, and Nakayama’s fingers signalled to her to come over
She didn’t think about it, Surius just slipped out of her bed dragging her feet to the other side of the room. Nakayama scooted over closer to the wall with her arms still held up to take Sirius by the hands until her knees was pushing against the mattress
Nakayama’s eyes were barely open, and she closed them when the other was finally on her bed, her body dropped back into the bed pulling Sirius to lay down too, with her head against Nakayama’s chest
“My younger siblings used to struggle with sleep a lot” she whispered, her voice is a little hoarse because she was sleeping, but it’s still soft “so I used to hold them like this until their fall asleep”
her arms pulling Sirius closer, shifting with their bodies attached together, and the other slowly started closing her eyes until they finally found a comfortable position, laying on their sides and her face was buried into the side of Nakayama’s neck
“Honestly, I thought I’d finally get to sleep in the bed on my own after leaving home..”
She smiled when Nakayama complained jokingly
a little shiver ran down her spine when Nakayama’s fingers crossed through her hair, gently rubbing her scalp, she took a deep breath as she held her own hands under her chin, sighing when the other wrapped one arm around her shoulders to pull her closer
“I would sing you a lullaby too, but I’m really tired”
Sirius giggled, snuggling and bringing up her hands to wrap them around Nakayama’s waist “no need for that”
Nakayama was fighting the sleep and her heart to not start beating faster, it’s hard to control it when she can feel her roommate’s breathing on her skin when she nuzzled closer, and their legs crossing together under the blanket
she’s blinking slowly focusing on Sirius’s breathing, it didn’t take long before it started to get slower as her body relaxes better Nakayama’s arms
And in less than 5 minutes Surius was falling asleep in her embrace
‘Finally...’ Nakayama thought to herself, sighing as she slipped her fingers along the strands of Sirius’s long hair until her arm was resting on the bed as a pillow to the other umamusume, it’s gonna be sore in the morning, but Sirius fell asleep, that’s all she cares about right now.
