Chapter 1: Arrival
It's nighttime in the quiet outskirts of Salmon Bay, a good distance away from the Akomish reserve. A bright pink light is seen moving down a dark covered road, moving towards its destination. This light was none other than Delsin Rowe, a rebellious, confident and charismatic street artist and member of the Akomish, the Native American tribe of Salmon Bay, as well as a Conduit, a human with super-powered abilities granted from his Conduit gene.
Delsin was currently using his Neon ability Light Speed, to move quickly down the road towards where he wanted to go: An abandoned toy factory that hadn't been up and running since, according to the reports Eugene had looked at for him, 1995. This was a nice little exploration trip to clear his head after having freed Seattle from Augustine and her D.U.P horde.
A ringing came his cell phone. Delsin pulled it out and saw that it was Eugene, a shy nerd as well as a Video Conduit with the powers to absorb and control digital projections, calling him. He answered the call. "Hey Eugene"
"Hey Delsin, you almost at the Playtime Co building?" Eugene asked over the phone.
Delsin looked up to see the building in question nearby in the distance. "Yeah, almost there. Just used some Neon speed to speed up the trip. Didn't walk to walk all the way here."
Another voice came over the line, this one female, in an amused and teasing tone. "Glad you're using my powers for something useful" This was Abigail "Fetch" Walker, a Neon Conduit with the ability to drain, redirect and weaponize Neon light. "Oh hey Fetch. Didn't know you'd be here" Delsin replied.
"Eh, didn't really much better to do, so I'm here here with Eugene to see how your little trip goes" Fetch said. "Though I gotta ask D, why are you going over there again?"
Delsin sighs, "Just to do some exploring, maybe tag something, but...mainly just to clear my head from...everything that happened. Especially..." Delsin grows quiet for a bit. "Reg."
Fetch and Eugene stay quiet on the line, knowing that Reggie Rowe's, the sheriff of Salmon Bay and Delsin's big brother, death at the hands of Augustine was still a VERY sore spot for Delsin. Eugene then speaks again, "Hey. Reggie would be proud of the man you are now. And you know if you need someone to talk too, you got us."
Delsin smiled, pulled out of the painful memory. "Thanks guys" Delsin then stretches, "Anyways, I'm almost there. I'll call back when I get there."
"Alright D, just be careful." Fetch replied. The call then hangs up and Delsin activates Light Speed, finishing his run to the Playtime Co building. Upon reaching it, Delsin looked at the state: run down, plants beginning to overgrow on the building's surface, basically what you would expect from a run down, abandoned structure. "Damn, really use a tune up." He then pulls out his phone and calls Eugene and Fetch again. "Alright guys, I made it."
"Alright, you shouldn't have trouble getting inside, but I recommend keeping an eye out. Don't know what could potentially be inside." Eugene warned Delsin.
Fetch scoffs, "Gene, I think you might have played too many horror games. It'll probably be Del, what could possibly be inside an abandoned run down piece of crap like this?"
"Well considering all the craziness I've seen in the Seattle, I wouldn't be surprised of anything. Thanks for the warning at least, Eugene." Delsin replied.
"Just make sure to call back if something happens, alright?"
"Yeah, yeah. Besides, I'm more than capable of defending myself if I have to fight. I'll be fine." Delsin reassured Eugene.
"OK." Eugene said, not entirely convinced, but he had more than enough trust in Delsin to take his word. "Have fun Delsin."
"Hope you can clear your head in there D." Fetch stated over the line before they hanged up. Delsin looks at the door and cracks his knuckles. "Alright Delsin, let's see what's inside." And with that Delsin Rowe pushes the door open and walks inside. Unaware what dangers await him inside.
