Work Text:
Robin and Vickie had a rule, they never fell asleep if they had an argument until it had been resolved. It was made when they had some stupid argument about a hang out, it had been really heated and it ended up with Robin going on a long walk to “clear her head.”
That night Vickie had a shower and cried as she slipped on her pyjamas, she soon got into bed hugging a jacket Robin had worn the other day that still smelt of her. Her eyes grew heavy as she succumbed to sleep.
Robin soon got home and she sighed as she entered the quiet house, “Vic?” no response. Robin slowly went up to their bedroom and she sees the sight of Vickie curled up in bed hugging Robins jacket to her chest. It felt like a thousand boulders were holding her down, she quietly showered and got changed before getting into bed next to Vickie, in the dim light she could just make out a small wet patch on the pillow by her girlfriends eyes. That broke her heart. She gently took the jacket from Vickie which made her stir.
“Robbie?” the quiet and cracked sound made Robin jump but she quickly found herself again. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to wake you up.” Vickie just hummed in response before shuffling a little closer to Robin, still keeping an inch of distance.
“Look, Vic- i’m really sorry… I got way to ahead of myself and I stopped communicating properly, my brain catastrophised- I really didn’t mean anything I sai-“ Robin was cut off by a kiss on her cheek.
“I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have got overworked about you wanting to hangout with Steve and the others, just because it was in Hawkins.” The brunette wraps her arms around Vickie and kisses the crown of her head.
“I love you.” There was silence for a moment and Robin nearly thought her girlfriend had fell asleep in the casual embrace but there was eventually a response.
“I love you too…”
“We should make it a rule where we can’t go to sleep until we’ve resolved an argument.”
“We should.”
Robin kisses Vickie’s forehead one last time before stroking her hair until she falls asleep. It’s not long before Robin also enters her own dream state, her heart warm knowing that the fight is now resolved.
